Its an 8 mana card. That alone condemns this to only exist in druid or a very late game deck, which usually aren't very good. Right now the only decks that I have met using this card is either druid or hunter, because there's also not many high cost spells around that justifies playing an 8 mana card that needs good rng to either land a taunt or rush. Fail that and what you have is an 8 mana card that does nothing for a turn, that's usually just a losing play.
As the deck moves up the mana curve, there's always the danger that their targetted card being drawn, bricking this card, so it basically balances itself. Only druid really breaks this card by cheating mana, but that goes with nearly every other high cost-high impact card in hearthstone right now.
All I can recommend is a little patience as we're almost certain that something will be done to lunacy mage one way or another so the meta will likely change. This card is far, very far, from what I would consider as broken.
Well, the community is quite aware of the nerf hammer coming soon to a deck near you. Yep. The Devs are pulling it out, and soon, everyone will cringe and decry all the nerfs.
One such card (and I believe this is true) will be nerfed is: Primordial Protector. It's truly broken beyond all measure.
Reason: Not random enough, and is too focused on the highest spell in ones deck. I'm looking at you, Druid. Yes, you.
Clown Druid may not be played as much, but some players are catching on, and rather quickly. After Mage/Pally get the hammer this will be the case.
To fix this, I say the cards ability needs a change. Keep the effect of finding a spell in the deck, but change its focus to any spell in the deck.
Currently: "Battlecry: Draw your Highest cost Spell from your deck and summon a random minion with the same cost."
New: "Battlecry: Draw a spell from your deck and summon a random minion with the same cost."
Cause in my opinion, PP is just too op, and definitely needs to be nerfed, and fast. Otherwise, watch how fast other decks will jump on this card. Making the meta extremely difficult to play against.
The play 5 Nature Druid spells isn't counting them correctly. I just played a game with a deck consisting of literally 30 Nature spells and did it twice (even recounted both times to make sure) and the achievement did not progress with either of them. Considering the blunder I had with the Aviana + Kun the Forgotten King combo for the "Play 5 cards that normally would cost 8+ mana on a single turn", I'm advising everyone to steer clear of these druid achievements for now or you'll be facing a lot of disappointment.
Cool looking deck; not a pairing I would have expected. So the deck is mainly about softening up the enemy with non-combat damage before the larger Overwhelm units finish them off? You have no play until turn 3 at the earliest, which I find interesting as well. Edit: I suppose turn-2 could work, with spell mana.
All I need is one more copy of The Leviathan, so I might as well try it :)
I like to see at least a few cards before conceding. Sometimes I will stay in an unwinable game if I think I can get achievements or if I suspect my opponent is trying to do the same. I will even try to help them out. I rarely ever auto concede and I do not care about my rank.
I've made some rather large changes to how we're dealing with these now and we shouldn't see any more cloudflare errors due to timeouts.
When you submit JSON, it is now destructive - anything not in your string is going to be removed from your collection if it previously existed. This was something we were missing for a long time and I'm happy to announce has changed.
Your collection will also now be queued without your browsing waiting for a response on its status. We update your local collection immediately based on the data submitted and then we store a copy when our queue has time to do so. There could be a potential issue during high site load where you will be browsing and we'll send you an old copy of your collection, but that should be quite rare and fixed shortly after as the details process on our end.
Previously we had two different systems for updates, the one that runs for deck tracking clients and the manual input here, now they both use the same system.
It looks like code wasn't updated in the correct space for this - my fault. I'm going to refactor it so we can get this data in the database, like it should have been from the start. I'll get this out soon and we'll run a recalculation of crafting costs across the site. Thanks!
I tried out each difficulty now, it definitely felt like each difficulty got much harder than previous difficulties. I can definitely say that I like that there are more choices in difficulty now, though it kinda sucks that you have to unlock it one by one for each champion, it's annoying but it makes sense. So far, I've gotten everyone but Lulu to Legendary and only Heimer and Azir to Heroic.
It's funny to me because Azir is actually the first champion I got to Heroic (I haven't won Heroic yet), but I beat Legendary pretty easily with him. Pretty much everything that's good with MF will be good with Azir. Scouts, Rally, 1 cost spam, etc. All-in with Azir and just buff him up so you play him either earlier or make him stickier. That's my strategy at least. The only outright horrible card in his starting deck is Weight of JudgementBADCARDNAME but if you can get a mana discount treasure on it, it becomes playable in the Freljord and PnZ stages. The passives you want to try to get are mostly the epics such as Yipp's Genius, Lil' Buddies, Nature's Revenge, Domination. Any combination of that and you should win pretty much every fight on turn 5.
Also, I second the opinion that Taliyah is egregiously bad. I've tried winning using Landmarks only and just try to use her starting deck, but it's much easier if you find a second champion and just dump as many treasures as possible on that one instead. It took me a while to get her to pass Hard and I only got through barely with Elise spiders + Yipp's Genius. I hope they buff her soon so that I can actually win with her in Legendary.
I just noticed the dust cost on decks is higher than expected because the free cards from the Core set are included.
I first noticed this on the deck embed on the new and returning player deck list article. I would guess this is normally not a very big problem. So if this isn't something you want to fix, it might be worth a casual mention of the actual dust values of the free decks.
As a point of reference one of the new player decks says it would cost 7140 dust, when in reality it would cost 6180 dust.
I am sure that a fair amount of you is playing the Lab of Legends and that a good amount of the LoL likes a challenge and plays on higher difficulty.
I personally find it quite challlenging to beat legendary difficulty and I have to admit that I only managed to beat legendary on Riven.
This post is about sharing Impressions of the format, own stats and strategies for different champions that help to succed on legendary tier.
So what have you encoutered? Do think the new challenge modes are hard enough? What is your favourite LoL Champion with what build?... and how tf you carry Azir in legendary Mode?!
I'm still on the search for the best version of Lissandra with Draklorn Inquisitor. I was lucky enough to make the Draklorn prismatic, and Kindly Tavernkeeper as well, so I want a deck with both of them in it (alongside a prismatic Liss, maybe? Need more essence for that...).
It depends. I play wild and standard. In standard I never concede. In wild I play a big priest with reasonable results, but most of the other priests are highlander, and with them I have almost no chance to win. So why to spend lot of time (priest games are very long) when I have only a small chance to win?
I do most of my autoconceding in LoR, as I think nearly all HS games are winnable if you draw well enough. I will concede pretty early though if I have a bad start against a bad matchup.
Just want to ask, if i have a Tavern Pass, should i wait until around lvl 40 (20% bonus on exp, cmiiw) to complete these achievements or that doesn't matter at all??
I don't think it matters, mainly because the bonus is so small it'S basically irrelevant (also I think it's bugged because it shows I get 213 Exp for a 200 exp achievement and basic math tells us that 20% of 200 is not 13)
Also, for each class the 3 part chievement you get 500 xp for last one except for warrior which get only 20
Spell Slingin' Savior: Wild is mandatory here because of how much draw options there are for Paladin there. If you don't have your Flash of Light or Crystology still around you will be very sad. The best way is to run Libram of Wisdom and Lady Liadrin and focussing on getting back a lot of those. Then hope you're playing against a control deck and keep making Recruits that you stack with 5 Librams until you die.
Important note. Spells of Light that you play on your opponent's minion do not count for the achievement.
Primordial Protector: broken?

Hearing Dean is passionate about a AI Ladder despite being alone gave me more empathy than I could imagine for a HS dev.

Lab of Legends legendary difficulty
You know is even more rediculous? LeBlanc with last breath: rally...
Once she is leveled up you more or less have a 0 mana Katarina
However i found Taliyah not that terrible... just pick as many triafarian mights with her deck as possible and let the 5/4 do their thing

Deploy is out with the change, dust recalculation is now taking place sitewide.
Lab of Legends legendary difficulty
Your right on Taliyah, she rarely won me any game, I only managed to win on hard because I had a 2 mana 7/4 Leblanc with scout.
