Initially I thought that maybe gutting Deck of Lunacy will be enough to just make it a playable deck with good and bad matchups, but now I'm not even sure that works. The amount of ressource generation and burn damage is just absurd. I feel like Apexis Blast and Font of Power need to be weakened in some form just because of how efficient they are (Spring Water seems a bit strong, but considering that the archetype was effectively worthless before it was released i'd rather they just curb the average power level instead of nerfing it back into obscurity by gutting the one card that gives them some amount of consistency)
The issue with these two generating spells is, that all bad minions were removed from standard, so there is basically no bad outcome for Apexis Blast or Font of Power
I look forward to these whenever they get published. Thank you so much for doing them. It seriously is a great break away from the worktime for a few minutes.

I used a similar strategy to YoggChamp from the Darkmoon Faire run and got the achievement pretty easily.
Mulligan Hard for Lorewalker Cho & potentially Cannonmaster Smythe.
When ready drop Cho and send secrets over to your opponent, desperate measures is best since its twinspell and effectively counts as 2 secrets (especially if opponents hand is close to full). Feel free to clog the opponents hand as it will only increase the incentive for them to play the secrets. then have your opponent plays them out the next turn.
Once the opponent played 5 secrets drop cannonmaster if there are any untriggered secrets followed by horde operative and profit.
In my case the cannonmaster was not needed because the opponent triggered all the secrets I sent over with cho but its in the deck for this purpose.
Also if you want to replace any secrets In this deck you might not have, the only thing I say to that is I specifically omitted secrets that trigger when a minion or spell is played (not to be put off by the opponent playing secrets, or by your own Smythe when you need to clear your own secrets), so no Oh my yogg/Repentence! but otherwise they are basically swappable to whatever you have in your collection.
Hunter is like 3rd best class according to HS replay in standard, but it is mostly face hunters which is boring... warrior got destroyed though...
True.
Along with Rogue and Druid, Hunter is the only non-Paladin class with a pair of decks in the green on HSReplays. However, the overall Hunter class win-rate isn't helped by having the worst deck in the class (Beasts, 45% WR) being played three-times as often as its two best decks combined (Aggro and Combo Hunter, both with 51% WR.) The most-popular Aggro Hunter list on the site plays nine cards from Barrens, while the Combo deck plays ten. While the class didn't get many smorc-y replacements for the cards it lost to rotation, some of the cards it received are certainly doing well.
I’m not running this priest deck but am running a control priest similar. Cthun, Yogg, ysera, malygos, all give you so much gas and value. It’s really fun. Especially in a meta that I’m having trouble finding any deck I enjoy. (Don’t know if anyone else feels the same, but I was so excited for this expansion and then it dropped and I have struggled to find a deck I enjoy).
I played a few games with Lunacy, out of curiosity. It felt like playing a tavern brawl. Every game I think I'm going to lose and then suddenly tables turn in the end game in some ridiculous way. Won all of the games, and honestly I didn't feel good about it at all. I had so little control of what was happening.
It was okay when it wasn't popular, I get that some people like those decks and it's cool, but imagine watching tournament where all pros bring Lunacy. A bit too much "fun".
Really, for me, my brain is reserved only for arena, the rest I just meme and don't care. Don't have any motivation for laddering anymore.
I've decided to check the matchup winrates on HSreplay, and Lunacy Mage only has negative winrates against 5 decks:
-Face Hunter
-Poison Rogue (lol)
-Secret Rogue
-Secret Paladin
-Libram Paladin
This means the only decks that have a chance to beat it semi consistently are either completely offensive aggro decks that just run on burn and take advantage of the fact that Mage has to ramp early and can't be that proactive, and Paladin which is equally broken and has the ability to just snowball onto the board ridiculously early (and I wouldn't be surprised if Oh My Yogg! boasts an abnormally high winrate when triggered in that matchup.)
Basically in order to beat Mage you have to be completlely aggro/burn focussed (with a priority for direct damage instead of using minions unless you're Paladin). Board focussed decks can't outpressure it and control decks can't outvalue it.
Initially I thought that maybe gutting Deck of Lunacy will be enough to just make it a playable deck with good and bad matchups, but now I'm not even sure that works. It could work with some bigger taunts but the problem is he will bring a ton of 1/5 scarabs from Spreading Plague so you'd need to cut that card, which i don't like as it's the best stall tool you have vs swarm decks.
Right now the meta is too fast for him anyway, takes too much setup and you'd rather want to destroy an enemy threat with Naturalize+Solar Eclipse. Remember this is a primarily a mill deck, not Taunt/Deathrattle.
It's probably better to just target what requires a response currently and see what happens later, then respond accordingly. It's entirely possible that somehow Primordial Protector won't be good at all after nerfs. The meta can change very drastically, and in such a way that preys on such gameplans. There's no need to preemptively nerf a card because it might be broken. In fact, it's pretty far from broken right now. It's only "broken" because Druid can play it on turn 4 sometimes.
I've had no issue completing this achievement except for Solar Eclipse's extra cast not counting. The only card you're using that I didn't in that replay is Jade Blossom. Dunno what else to tell you.
Well, Jade Blossom was used in both 5 spells turns and, honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if the Nature tag was given to it by mistake. I replaced it with 2 Treenforcements. I did base my deck on your decklist, so it's also understandable that most of the cards are the same.
It is a little disconcerting that there's a notification for queuing, but nothing on completion. But, it is pretty obvious when you go back to viewing specific decks.
It's the new Spiteful Summoner, but I don't think any class other than Druid or Hunter would think of playing it. Druids can ramp up to it pretty quickly, while some streamers are already building some minion-heavy Hunter decks with Nagrand Slam and Guardian Animals as their only spells to take advantage of Primordial Protector. But other than that, no, I don't think this card is broken, and I'll be surprised to see it nerfed.
You don't even need to have these 2 be the only spells, as you're guaranteed the highest cost one. In fact, it's probably better to have some chap spells, as that way the card isn't dead if you draw all the high cost ones.
