I am really excited to finally use Totodile in VGC. Well, actually Feraligatr, but I love Totodile and as someone who has no Pokemon Games from the GBA/DS/3Ds eras it will be the first time I get to use it in a mainline competitive supported Pokemon Game :)
I didn't read into the news much; are they bringing back older starter Pokémon? I must've missed that while searching for info about the DLC. That's always super awesome, although I wish they'd do that earlier in the game more often; for me, by the time I can get the extra starter, it's kinda too late to add him/her to my team.
I do have my fare share of critique for this game, but I have to admit I really enjoyed it even with all the problems it had.

The problem is Rustrot Viper....making this card significantly worse.
Fair enough, but your opponent can only hard-run two Rustrot Vipers, and some people just use the one. If a Battlepickaxe gets eaten by a Viper, that's one less opportunity to take your Ignis weapon away. That's a decision you force on your opponent, all the while you keep smacking them for 4 while they think it over :D

This is clearly a very solid card in a vacuum. There are plenty of taunts available, and many ways to generate even more. Equip this, and you get to swing for 4 every turn forever, probably. The problem is Rustrot Viper. This card is already common thanks to Ignis, the Eternal Flame, and this new set includes a lot of other threatening weapons. I think anti-weapon tech cards are going to be all over the place, making this card significantly worse.
King's Defender, to the trash with you (if you weren't there already). This is Stormhammer for Taunt minions, and I'm all for it. Load this up with Durability, then throw it all away to wield Sulfuras.
I guess the Battlecry allows you to specify when it goes off, whereas the Deathrattle was up to your opponent in most cases. Hmm... I'm still skeptical. Maybe a good arena card?
This is a worse Undying Disciple, which didn't see much play. I'm guessing this won't either.
Blast Tortoise is a Battlecry, not a Deathrattle, and comes with a package of handbuffing opportunities (plus the already-existing Menagerie packages can synergize as well).
We just might. This set already has a few returning characters, and one of the Warrior legs will be revealed at BlizzCon (unless Blisterguy has two of them).

I didn't read into the news much; are they bringing back older starter Pokémon? I must've missed that while searching for info about the DLC. Definitely good, as long as you can buff it at least a little (which shouldn't be hard). As discussed above, having the damage as a battlecry makes this way stronger than if it was a deathrattle.
New Warrior Weapon - Battlepickaxe
Fair enough, but your opponent can only hard-run two Rustrot Vipers, and some people just use the one. If a Battlepickaxe gets eaten by a Viper, that's one less opportunity to take your Ignis weapon away. What a time to be alive lol. Love it for my Fire Plume's Heart deck.
