I could see this in some sort of deck that runs a small number of high-impact minions and the rest of the deck is spells, weapons, etc. Problem is, I don't see Paladin being able to pull that off, especially in a highlander-only deck.
This is a really well-designed card, I think. It's an extremely good AOE against large boards of small minions, and terrible otherwise. Great choice for E.T.C., Band Manager.
I'm not sure what the point of this is, unless of course you have Crusader Aura up. Even then, it's not a power play. I suppose if your opponent's board is full, you just get yourself 3 rushes with no downside.
At first I thought the mirage itself will be a 3 mana 3/4 which would be great for Big Paladin. But now seeing that it just transforms into a copy of a minion it looks so underwhelming. So the effect is to essentially have duplicates, but then why not just run duplicate deck in the first place and dump this? Unless Reno is gonna be some insane value card which will make you run highlander at all costs.
This one feels like a good addition to an already existing highlander deck. It's certainly weird to build a deck around the card that just makes you partly undo the limitation it itself created at the cost of having worse consistency. It's creating a problem and then solving it, but the problem doesn't even exist without this card.
Looks really fun! The "Mirage" in hand is permanent, so it should work like Vision of Darkness from Sister Svalna. You can play it as the minion it's currently copying, then it's still in your hand to play again. I wonder if this will cause a resurgence of Theotar?

Technically speaking, we're not missing any heroes. Back when they were adding new heroes, the rows would get filled up eventually, at which point they'd just add another row of empty portraits. Those are there to keep the symmetry, not as empty slots.
Also, technically technically speaking, we're actually short 17 heroes since there is one less row that goes inwards than outwards.

Quite like the flavor of Spirit of the Badlands seeing as Highlander decks are all about 1 copy of each card. Now we have the ability to have 2 copies of our minions at least. This can be pretty broken with Legendary minions especially. Wouldn't be surprised if we see a low minion highlander deck to guarantee the mirage to hit a specific minion over and over again.
I would love to have a reason to return to HoTS. The unexpected news of Blizzard putting the game into maintenance mode was very saddening, especially right after releasing Deathwing my favorite hero (ofc). I always worried that with Blizzard not caring about the game, that would leak towards the players and I already had a hard enough time queuing for quick games.
Streamers have predicted that we haven't seen the full extend of the schedule, with the possibility of 2 hidden slots that can either announce the new survival game (which is unlikely) or updates on HoTS, WC3 refunded and the Starcraft franchise. Lots of ppl guessing there will be a Starcraft mobile game as that IP has yet to come to mobile. Doubt it'll be an RTS but there are some RTS-lite mobile games out there like C&C Rivals.
Great article! There is still some hope for this 2 gems to be revived! So many good memories of both W3 and Heroes. Have not tried WC3 Reforged, but had so much fun with Hero Wars and Tower Defense in the original one. Recently been getting back into Heroes of the Storm with all the hype on Reddit and here. If the mirage keeps the cost of the original minion, that's bad.
if the mirage is much cheaper than the original minion, that's good!

What's Up With Warcraft III and Heroes of the Storm Ahead of BlizzCon?
Technically speaking, we're not missing any heroes. Back when they were adding new heroes, the rows would get filled up eventually, at which point they'd just add another row of empty portraits. Those are there to keep the symmetry, not as empty slots.
