Yeah, I feel since these are legal decks, it would incentivize new players to learn the new cards (with those "meaningless" points 😅

    As most people probably know, you cannot complete achievements in Tavern Brawls. This makes sense, as some achievements (like "Play X card X times") would be too easily completed in certain brawls. I WISH they'd remove that block for brawls like this one, where you cannot "cheat" achievement conditions and you have access to epics and legendaries you might not own.

    Link, after getting to read all your Baldgur's Gate content, it makes me want to check it out (would be my first BG game) but I have no idea if I'll actually have the time considering there is a million other things to do outside of playing games. Maybe one day when it goes on sale...

    In my totally-unbiased opinion, I think you should drop everything you're doing and buy it. Once you, our glorious leader, have seen firsthand how amazing it is, we can work together to overhaul Out of Games into its true purpose: being the best Baldur's Gate wiki it can be! XD

    No but seriously, the hope/expectation(?) is that BG3 will be the finest cRPG of this generation, so if you have any interest in Dungeons & Dragons - or just turn-based RPGs in general - this game should be worth the look. You don't need to play the first two games; they're from so long ago, I wouldn't judge anybody for not going out of their way to access them. Just think: BG3 is based on D&D 5th Edition, while the original two use 2nd Edition, first published in 1989. Watch a summary video on YouTube if you feel the need lol.

    Wow, we finally got there! After so many years and so many expansions, we made it. Recipe Brawl on the same week as the release of the set and not like, 2-3 weeks later when the meta is already solved.

    Great on getting this started, Link! Hyah!

    I'm going to be diving deep into Path of Exile's new league, Trial of the Ancestors, on August 18. I'm thankful they launch these at night here so it doesn't typically interfere with the day. I've currently got a playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077, which I started for the first time the other night when it was clear I wasn't getting to sleep anytime soon. Oracle of Seasons and Ages just dropped on Switch Online so I will need to find a time to play that as well. World of Warcraft will certainly also make an appearance, as it does during the month to complete the Trading Post as a bare minimum.

    Last month I had a chance to sneak in a play of Techtonica which released a couple weeks ago. I've got most of the outline of a review ready to go, I just need to fill in the missing parts. Spoiler alert: It's a great factory/automation game and although it's a bit on the shallow end right now, you can see where it is going and I'm pumped for it.

    It also sounds like you have a ton of games on the go which would drive me crazy. I'm already worried about my simple Cyberpunk playthrough that I started (and Tears of the Kingdom which I have yet to finish) being left in the dust to everything else and then if I do return to it one day, I'll have forgotten where I was and either alt+f4 or restart entirely.

    Cheers to August!

    Oh, also, I need to find some time to play more F1 2023. I have like an hour in it which is kinda sad times. No race weekends this month due to the F1 mandatory summer break does open up some time.

  • What Are You Playing? August 2023

    Time for another installment where we talk about the games we've been playing! This time, it's the month of August (July? Never heard of it).

    Throughout July, I was partially completing all sorts of stuff, losing momentum as my priorities shifted to the next thing and the next thing after that. Patapon 2 Remastered, God of War: Ragnarok, Final Fantasy XVI, Theatrhythm Final Bar Line, a (fourth?) playthrough of Final Fantasy X; all of them have been started and yet none of these games are finished. Not sure what it is that's keeping me from seeing them through.

    As for August, I (im)patiently await Baldur's Gate III tomorrow, so I can work on our guide and then maybe actually play the damn thing myself! Steam says I have 20 hours of Early Access playtime, but that's been basically me camped in the character creator pouring over the information (or just "AFK" while I'm writing in the guide); I haven't even watched the intro cinematic! D:

    What're you playing currently? Anything new you look forward to playing this month?

    FOC and WFC were amazing games. I spent countless hours playing them. Hopefully they get a wider re-release so a new generation of gamers can enjoy the amazing story-line and gameplay of them.  It's hard to match the chills that run down your spine when

    Quote From dapperdog

    That is a lot of legendary cards in that deck...

    But I feel your deck has too many win cons in it. 90% of the time your end game can be simply just sargeras alone, so you dont really need to greed out so much.

    Currently, the most effective deck with that loken+fanottem synergy uses the chad deck core, maybe you can try that.

    That's also a way to use the deck surely but I just don't like the Chad deck. I am not a really fan of mana cheating.

    But I am trying different varieties. One is using summon/discover spells with imps to keep Loken, Jailer of Yogg-Saron summons, this one;

    And one with more control tools with more taunt walls instead of those little minions again to keep Loken, Jailer of Yogg-Saron more consistent with discoveries. I found Imposing Anubisath quite well with Forge of Wills. It has great tempo if you can hit 3 mana - 4 mana Tempo.

    All of these decks are good and bad against some matchups but I am confident to say that the Wall-Lock feels more controlish than the others.

    Imp Forgelock feels like a mid-range/aggro deck most of times and sometimes you just win with imps before you hit 7-mana.

    The first one; Forgelock feels like a meme deck right now after I tried the other varieties because it doesn't have the consistency the deck is looking for like linkblade91 said. I need to say thanks to him. I already wanted to try other varieties but he directed me to the right point with his comment.

    Like you said, Chad-lock style suits great with a deck like this. People might try and succeed but its just not for me. I also don't like the idea to bring Sargeras, the Destroyer to the board with Voidcaller. When you use just discard Thaddius, Monstrosity and hit The Jailer to the board even without Voidcaller, it is just the same win condition and the deck doesn't feel any different even you include Sargeras, the Destroyer and some new cards. It might be a good deck but I don't feel its style to play. Thanks for the suggestion tho.

    Also, It seems like Fanottem, Lord of the Opera + Lor'themar Theron is my obsession. I am pretty sure win rate of Wall-lock would increase if you replace them with 2 more useful cards. I just can't bare that Fanottem, Lord of the Opera sits in my collection and stay useless eternally so I just wanted to use it. :)

    Symphony of Sins might be great addition maybe with Sire Denathrius or some other good value card instead of those two. I just don't want to craft Symphony of Sins right now with a lot of cards(Titans) I want to craft around. :)

    Quote From DragonDraena

    I just played against a similar deck, and I used a fully infused Sylvanas to steal Sargeras.

    When I used one of his available abilities, the pair of 6/6 minions appeared on my opponent's board - yikes!

    Is that how all stolen Titans work, or just Sargeras because of the portal?

    It may be wrong but I remember like my opponent couldn't send minions to Twisting Nether after Voidcaller summoned Sargeras, the Destroyer. I didn't experience Sylvanas scenario but that maybe how card just works.

    Though, I experienced that a Thief Priest was able to summon 2x Sargeras, the Destroyer stolen from me, I could destroy the first before my opponent uses other 2 abilities and he/she could use all abilites of the 2nd and although One portal was summoning 3/4 Imps with Taunt, the other was summoning 3/2 Imps so Abilites of Sargeras, the Destroyer won't stack. It only buffs Imps of the respected portal and they don't become 3/6 with Taunt.

    It was always there on Android at least, you had to long press on the 100G price and it'd popup for a count field of how many packs to buy. Feel sorry for people like @DragonDraena who purchased one of a time what a pain caused by poor hidden UI.

    It's cool that you pulled it off, but surely you're running too many minions to pull it off consistently, no? It's very possible that Fanottem is not a Discover option because Watcher of the Sun, Suspicious Peddler, etc. are diluting the pool.

    It seems, if anything, that you were lucky to manage the combo this early at all :P

    Yeah probably luckier than you thought :) but Fanottem is not the only target, actually, I would be happier if i can discover Sargeras, the Destroyer. Fanottem is here just for fun but I saw that it is actually good. Even a 5/5 with Loken, Jailer of Yogg-Saron helps. I have 18/20 with this deck right now but well I am giving this to being at first day, people are experimenting or playing with older decks right now.

    I am looking at 30/30 Tentacle as a bonus instead of the aim of the deck actually. The deck is minion heavy because of consistency of Disciple of Sargeras and Soul Barrage and all minions help one way or another. Most helpful one is Ignis, the Eternal Flame. If you can craft a 5 mana 3/4 weapon with Lifesteal and 4 Armor with every hit, it completely saves warlock from low healths.

    Also I was not expecting to Kologarn to be as effective as others but he surprised me a lot.

    And for all other little minions, mulligan helps a lot really.

    Hello guys. I was just experimenting with new cards and I was able to hit my best setup for this deck. Here what it is;

    The setup was; Playing Lor'themar Theron and then playing Loken, Jailer of Yogg-Saron to discover a 30/30 Fanottem, Lord of the Opera to summon a 30/30 Tentacle with Taunt and summon a 30/30 Giant with Forge of Wills. I can't be so happy after I did this.

    Here is the deck I was using;

    If you want to give it a try, you can add Symphony of Sins to the deck, it is a good tool but I don't have one unfortunately. I would replace Elite Tauren Champion if i had one.

  • Hearthstone TITANS Launches Today - Here's Everything You Need to Know

    It's new on mobile (Android). Previous expansion I purchased and confirmed each pack (100 gold) individually.

  • Hearthstone TITANS Launches Today - Here's Everything You Need to Know

    The "in one transaction" part is new: previously it would do a transaction for every pack you bought, which especially on launch day adds a noticeable delay (like half a second per pack) as a lot of people are buying packs.

  • Hearthstone TITANS Launches Today - Here's Everything You Need to Know

    That's not new. I've been buying packs 50 at a time with gold on launch day for the last couple years since I went F2P.

    But they did add a toggle to do this more efficiently, which is nice.

  • Hearthstone TITANS Launches Today - Here's Everything You Need to Know

    QoL upgrade: you can now buy multiple packs with gold in one transaction. I just bought 50 and it was delightfully fast.

  • TITANS

    Sleeper of the set is Relentless Worg imo. Good stats and a sticky one.

    And also I don't think Careless Mechanist deserves to be at the bottom of the set. That card is quite good for a Tempo/Midrange deck. I liked Bibliomite before, now gonna try Careless Mechanist. You won't need draws before 5 mana anyways in that deck and your opponent can't let it stay on board for 2-3 turns so it will do its job no matter what. You can draw after it dies or you can use discovers instead of draws. It even might be a sleeper aswell too. It deserves more points imo.
