You might want to run a check on your antivirus software to make sure you didn't pick up a keylogger at some point.

That is my understanding as well. So if you have all the HOF cards that will be returning to classic, might as well open them now unless you specifically want dup or golden versions of the HOF cards.

I'm not a Diablo players, but Immortal doesn't look like a sequel to me.

Well... Reaching Grinding to legend for the first time while also having a lot of fun surely is ambitious.

You don't get any dust. You do get 235 cards for free, though

I think what this person meant was you will get dust disenchanting the golden basic cards, which will become commons.

Doing this means you’ll still have the non-golden copies.  But 2 golden commons DE for a combined 100 dust.  So with two copies of all 143 basic cards in golden, you DE them all for 14,300 dust, nearly 9 legendaries worth of dust!

I think OP means new projects as in non-sequels.

That is already true, though. My point is that it's not likely to become more true after rotation.

Remember when Blizzard worked on new projects?  Activision doesn't and they like it that way.

This at least makes it easier on the production crew and hopefully the players.  Would hate to see another situation similar to what happened to Firebat last year where he was playing late and slept through his checkin time bc they were ahead of where they had been compared to previous weeks.

A lot of cards currently in Basic + Classic are unplayable, either because they were never good (Magma Rager), because they were power creeped out (Chillwind Yeti, Shattered Sun Cleric) or because they got nerfed (Abusive Sergeant, Warsong Commander). I expect them to select relatively more playable cards for the Core Set.

Obviously Blizzard wants people to spend money on Hearthstone, but at the same time I think they realize that it's easier to get people to spend money when they're having fun than to try and wring the cash out of them.

A deck containing only cards from the Core Set may not be competitive, but I'm sure there will be budget decks that do reasonably well. You don't need to play top tier decks to ladder: you can get wins with slightly less powerful decks as well, easily enough to complete your quests and if you're persistent enough even to reach legend.

I'm normally very skeptical of adding Classic versions of games precisely because those games had to keep adding things to keep it fresh, so the Classic mode seems doomed to fail unless it innovates. However, I do think Hearthstone has enough formats and game modes now that Classic can get away with being a static format that people can return to when in the mood for it, but go elsewhere when they want a change.

So in a twisted sense, Classic's best feature will be the existence of the other game modes.

Yes, with powercreep I indeed meant a strong meta deck. Because of no new inflow, and no nerfs are made, the same decks always stay strong. Hence the idea of class rotations. And of course some are better against each other, than others. But that is also why I came up with the idea of a weekly rotation, to keep the meta continuously fresh and innovative. (When there are no nerfs, or inflow from other cards).

Although I do get your arguments as well.

That Treant druid is a lot of fun. I am currently 4-0 with it and it has been pretty consistent in how it's played.

They are still pushing specialist? Well lets hope there is no some super control sleeper deck at the top in the new meta...

I'm glad they're having the big news on day one.
