Wait... do we actually have more builds for zoe who is expected to be... not good, than we have for viktor?
Its a crazy world we live in i guess... its like you would build more teemo decks than twisted fate decks just for the memes.
But hey proably I am very exeptional with my taste and maybe the majority of players do not care about competetiveness...
Keep in mind 4 of these 8 decks are Zoe + Viktor, so only 4 for Zoe without Viktor versus 6 for Viktor without Zoe. We did it like that because we are expecting Viktor to be more independent, but ultimately time will tell.
I think this would be a very good idea for the prize turns (i.e. turn 4, 8, 12, 16, ...) specifically. In a game today I picked the turn 16 prize that gives you a prize from all of the previous prize turns and once I was done picking and playing those I had less than 20 seconds left to play out the rest of my turn.
If a longer turn timer would be applied to all turns it could become very tedious since sometimes all you do in a turn is tier up and buy a minion.
Now that is what I call a good and detailed answer, thanks for that.
I am admittedly a clear opponent of blizzard as a company which gives a false Image of being one's best buddy. It is overprizing it's products and underpaying their employees. With the blitzchang suspension they ultimately shown that they don't give a damn about the interests of their western customer base.
However these points aren't about Hearthstone's gameplay but the gameplay was also often very lame because blizzard leaned way more into clear finisher-cards which you most often only played around by being fast-> playing aggressive decks. Those aggressive decks got old very fast and were mostly highroll-dependant. Not to mention the fact that "premium" constructed cards and limited trash were very clearly separated in terms of powerlevel, so that trying to build offmeta decks to beat metadecks was most often not a thing at all because the "playable cardpool" was smaller while having a larger total cardpool than in LoR ...
And about LoR feeling more grindy: i don't know if you play meta decks or not but in case you do: the key to wreck the ladder is coming up with the niche deck that your opponent will not be ready for because it's answers make no sense against the meta. And indeed LoR is way more consistant and repetetive in order to make "playing and building right" a factor.
If you like it more random go with other games that on the flipside won't allow you to hold winrates above 70% at a regular basis, the choice is yours.
I think the timer is most of the time way to long :)
Talked with my friends a lot about the timer in battlegrounds and most of them including me think it is way too long. Most of the time we have to wait around for 30 seconds because our turn is already finished.
So my personal opinion is that the timer is to long and therefore should not be extended by extra 5 or 10 seconds.
The last patch has just exacerbated what I think was the biggest annoyance with battlegrounds: the timer is too short! It really limits the plays you're able to make during your turn. The latest patch introduces prizes that you have to pick from, leaving you with even less time to make your play.
I say the minimum time for the recruitment phase in Battlegrounds should be extended by 5 or 10 seconds. What do you think?
I didn't have time to update and play yesterday, today it seems the game is stuck on the loading screen after the update (in case anybody asks, I have a Pixel2XL, Android 11 and 4 GB RAM). Just sits there with the logo, some mild flashing, for minutes on end (or until I forget to tap and the phone goes to sleep after a while).
On my PC I also experience the phantom minion glitch, it is quite confusing, and I think it prevented me from playing a seventh minion because of board space, even though the minion wasn't doing anything otherwise.
It is also important to notice that while some classes are clearly over the top right now, what most players (like Casie) suggested is buffing rather than nerfing - something we've been seeing since Ashes of Outland (when Torrent, Shattered Rumbler and The Lurker Below received a power-up) and that we'd love to see again.
Well there's the problem with buffs right there huh? All three of those cards still just suck compared to DH's Blade Dance. Honestly, I didn't even remember they got buffed. Nerfing the strongest cards is already inherently a buff to every other card, so it accomplishes more with less, while also helping to relieve meta fatigue by forcing the best cards out.
My personal suggestion would be that Blade Dance should consider only the equipped weapon's attack (but that would make it a very terrible card) or should consume the player's face swing for that turn.
We don't want to be too obvious that DH is just taking Old Rogue's Identity (Blade Flurry) do we? Hahaha.
My Uni courses were over a few decades ago so not surprised it's called something else now :)
I think most would agree the quality of the product has gone down over the last few years. Some of that could perhaps be explained by more frequent updates, and an increasingly complexity of the game. But my feeling is there are less resources dedicated to proper testing in terms of people and time.
yes, it's called regression testing, everyone does that, I'm sure they do either
but
there are always things that will slip through and will show up only on prod environments
although
what I think happens here is that because they committed to a hard deadline, announced last week, and they had to schedule release with mobiles as well, they knew about these bugs but decided to release anyway and fix those known bugs in a hotfix
it's not a perfect scenario, but after working for over a decade in software industry gaming and non-gaming, everyone goes through the same problems unfortunately
Personally i only downvote when someone is REALLY trolling hard or acting very toxic. And during the card reveal discussion I've seen my comments and those of many other downvoted as well (With mostly just 1 vote), My guess is that me and most others didn't up-vote their own comment and just a single person/troll downvoted every comment in those threats.
I have also experienced some cases where me and someone else were having a civil discussion about [Hearthstone Card (Sir Finley of the sand) Not Found]s viability, but then "suddenly" most of the decks i posted at the time got disliked. It's unfortunate but these kinda things just happen sometimes.
Personally i kinda ignore up- and down votes most of the time. There are plenty of times i got downvoted and luckely most of the time people tell my why they disliked my comment. If those people are right and are correcting me, i thank them for it and upvote their comment. The only time i care a super tiny amount about downvotes is when my brand new decks are downvoted without people telling me why they did it. (mainly because I always ask for suggestions for improving the deck) Luckely this community for the most part is very civil and it is a very nice place, and i'm really happy to be part of it :)
I took a break from this game when the new set launched, but it seems like every time they update the game there's more bugs that just make the game unplayable.
Some great dialogue here, and it's good to know other folks are seeing the same thing as me.
Several people (including Flux) mentioned the importance of having downvotes, and I agree. I want to be able to downvote offensive or trollish comments.
I like the distinction between posts and decks: maybe you shouldn't be able to downvote a deck without leaving a comment. However, I don't think you should always have to comment in order to vote (up or down) if it's a forum post. I'm glad the mods have the ability to track that stuff to see if some loser is just going around downvoting everything.
What it comes down to, as some people noted, is the votes don't matter much. It's stupid to get offended if people downvote your comments, and some upvotes here and there are just a tiny bit of positive reinforcement (I upvoted everyone who has participated in this dialogue). When it comes to decks though, it's different. When I post a deck that I want people to look at and comment on, the downvotes hurt my chances of being noticed (correct me if I got that wrong).
Well, based on the way you worded it, I’m not sure if you actually want to know. But answering for myself, I’ll say that Hearthstone is fun and still feels fresh. I’ve only been playing the game for 2 years, so I can’t blame anyone who has been playing for 6 years and has decided that they’re bored. I’m sure I’ll be done with the game long before then! But the key thing is, if I enjoy the game for years and then eventually move on, I’ll consider that to be a success. I won’t stick around on Reddit to complain that a years-old hobby got boring.
Runeterra is a very cool game. In theory, I feel like I should enjoy it more than Hearthstone. But in practice, it’s started to feel like a grind for me. I’m not sure whether it’s because the game demands more time than Hearthstone, or because the archetypes feel more repetitive, or if the XP-based rewards system is just less compelling, or what. (If it’s the XP system, then Hearthstone is in trouble, too.) But whatever the reason, I burned out after completing the Spirit Blossom Festival and never really got into it again. The last time I played was 2 weeks ago - By any objective measure, it was an exciting game, with both sides taking the advantage multiple times before the end. But I realized halfway through that I just didn’t care. I haven’t played since, though I’ll be giving the new expansion a try. Hopefully it’s fun for me again.
I know this probably isn’t a satisfying answer for you. I can’t put my finger on why one game stayed fun and the other didn’t. But I’m glad that so many people are enjoying Runeterra. I want everyone to find the games they like, whether or not they match my tastes.

8 Zoe Theorycraft Decks to Try on Day 1 of the New Runeterra Expansion
Keep in mind 4 of these 8 decks are Zoe + Viktor, so only 4 for Zoe without Viktor versus 6 for Viktor without Zoe. We did it like that because we are expecting Viktor to be more independent, but ultimately time will tell.
Card Design Conversation - Mea Culpa
This is what I would have imagined for Enhancement Shaman support, much more interesting than Whack-a-mole.

Oh man those claws would make any Shaman player soooooo happy. I sincerely hope that any and all Blizzard R&D takes a hint on it.

Alternate universe region? I think it would really piss off people for 5 KDA cards people lost their minds XD

Sunset at Westfall - Custom Hearthstone Expansion (WIP)
I like the keyword. Simple, but also original. And seems to fit the theme.
The cards seem pretty balanced, although Sheriff McCree, Thunderbolt and Pumpkin Season seems a bit on the weak side.
