Finished this in like 30 minutes. Most of the matches wasn't hard, but there's certainly some annoying ones, like Rehgar and the final match against Thrall. Thrall's matches are especially strange. Seems like completely random whether he will go face or trade with doomhammer. On that note, if he plays like nothing and just go face with doomhammer you're pretty much dead unless you can stall out with sheild block.
The story stops right before his first defeat, so its in effect ignoring the fact that he's dead at the end. Even the final soliloquy brazenly boast his strength and how powerful he is, no one can stop him, Thrall's an idiot, etc. Ironic really.
Hello everyone. Give this deck a shot, I won 7 straight games with it, only losing to Go Hard. (Which clapped me pretty badly, but I did have really bad draws) I know a lot of people may think this region combination is weird, but trust me, I was beating meta decks with it. Monastery of Hirana provided so much value since I always had card advantage, the card it produces was discard fodder when I needed it most, and so forth. I am thinking about replacing Chump Whump with Ballistic Bot, but maybe not.
Whenever I played Yasuo decks, Yone was such an awkward card because your opponent always played around it, so a lot of the time I just used it in less than optimal situations, not getting the full potential out of it. It is especially bad when Yasuo is not on the board, but Hirana existing makes me not care anymore since I can recall it whenever. Stunning your opponent's cards when Yasuo isn't on the board doesn't feel as bad anymore.
Thank you for your reply. You figured out much more about how I play Hearthstone than I thought I was saying in my post!
I am generally ok with Hearthstone’s randomness. As someone who’s played a lot of board games, I’m comfortable with a wide range of randomness and strategy in my games, and I can see the pros and cons to different levels. I can go play Caylus or Terra Mystica when I want a strategic, RNG-free experience, and I think of all CCGs as fairly random. It always sounds strange to me when Magic or Runeterra players imply that less randomness is automatically better, because apparently they don’t know that Go is an option.
I appreciate that Hearthstone embraces the randomness and that skilled playing involves anticipating or responding to the random events better than your opponent. Some games will be outside my control, and maybe if I was gunning for top 50 Legend that would be an issue. But the games are 5-10 minutes and playing well means that I win 55% of the time, so it works great. Hearthstone games give me a lot more variety even when I play the same deck over and over. Every evening, I’ll end up with a story I want to tell a friend about. That never happens in Runeterra.
(That also helps to justify - somewhat - the “bad” cards that Hearthstone includes in the game. I’d never put Generous Mummy in a deck, but I still need to find a way to get some value out of it every day or two. On the other hand, She Who Wanders never appears in my Runeterra games.)
Your point about building off-meta decks in Runeterra is a good one. I’m not good at deck-building - my strengths are mostly in efficient, tactical play - so that may be one area where I’m not suited for Runeterra.
I also think it’s weird that people accuse Hearthstone of being too focused on finishers. My decks may have win conditions, but most of the time the winner just outmaneuvered the other player by gaining board control or chipping away. Runeterra decks are much more dependent on specific Champions or Epics to close out the game.
Anyway, I’m off to try Cosmic Creation this evening. Wish me luck!
Agro: No one i believe. Maybe Sejuani/Teemo and Jynx/Draven have a shot sometimes Mid range: Poros, Ezreal/Swain, They who Endure, Soraka/Than, Lux/Garen, Vulnerable Undyig, etc Control/Combo: Almost all decks
A really aggressive deck is what I recommend. I was facing off against Open the Waygate Mage, and what often happened was that I killed his present, get a Firelands Portal, then used it to fire at my own present
Yeah, it's crazy. One time I was playing with a friend and Bob said he thinks I can win it all... BUT he said the same thing to my friend playing across the room!! Like, what the hell is that all about????
Lest not forget, it requires drawing and casting ALL the 4 copies or no deal
Go Hard can beat most aggro and mid-range decks without difficulty, and I don't think that is good balancing.
Thats the ONLY strenght of the deck, really It gets utterly destroyed by every control deck and some mid range decks as well
Being able to beat two thirds of viable decks is quite the strength. How many other decks can boast about doing that?
Also genuinely curious here, which mid-range decks can destroy Go Hard? I would like to play a mid-range deck were I have the advantage for a change. I already tried Frostbite, Dragons, and Fiora/Shen.
I had already beat the Hunter Book of Heroes but had to restart it when there was a reward tied to it. After winning round 1, the game recognized that I had beaten the content and gave me the reward. I closed it and didn't finish the run. Now I can't concede (it just restarts the attempt over and over) so I have to beat those before I can access the Warrior Book. :(
There's also something I really hate: most of the time when Bob say one phrase, like "i'm sure you can win this thing", i actually lose the battle.
Was that quote specifically made for low win chances? I'm so sick of it that I dread playing another BG.
Yeah Idk what's up with that but I guess Bob is just always optimistic. Even when you're in last place and close to dying he often says "You're doing great out there!". No Bob, I'm not and I'm afraid your overly optimistic statements aren't helping.
It must be a new bug, I just had the same thing happen to me and came to look for answers. I was al'akir in second and my opponent was flurgl in first: everyone else dead and it was the turn before we got the last tier of treasure ... game just ended and gave me second place no animations even though i had a plenty good board and didn't see anything play-out.
Either the game is ending early and taking your current place, or the server finishes the game before your device (i'm on mobile) can catch up with all the animations so it just ends. I didn't verse that player at all so I had no idea what his board state was like to know if i'd have lost or anything.
Lest not forget, it requires drawing and casting ALL the 4 copies or no deal
Your making it sound like that's a hard thing to do. Bilgwater/SI and Piltover/SI both have lots of draw power, and unless you use Deny/Nopify it effect will always resolve. Now I don't think that the card is broken since we have decks that can beat it (Soraka/Kench, Trundle/Tryndamere and fearsome aggro if your wandering) but Go Hard can beat most aggro and mid-range decks without difficulty, and I don't think that is good balancing.
Applications are still being worked through. There were quite a few of them, more than I had expected to see, so with the extra load from that and all the content we've been working towards for the big game announcements this week, it has been a slower than expected process.
Everyone who sent in an application will receive a response.

Not lucky enough to get the 1 out of 10 legendary of the warrior pack, as happened for the mage and hunter ones. Hope for the remaining 7 class packs.
