  • Cheese's custom core sets revamp - Global thread (done!)

I think that the 9 Mana dragons could honestly all just become 8 Mana (with some changes obviously). To compensate for the buff I think Malygos could go down to Spell Damage +4 and some of Ysera’s dream cards might have to be nerfed.

NO! Silence is bad and should either be removed from the game, or made temporary. Screw silence!

  • Standard needs a viable neutral silence card.

To be honest, if the idea is to play silence solely because of Libram of Wisdom and Rattlegore, its really not worth it. Paladin's midrange superiority ensures that even Spellbreaker will likely not affect the board much and they have 2 copies + Lady Liadrin anyway, while any warrior deck that plays rattlegore would still be happy knowing you've wasted 1 whole turn trying to deal with it, especially since rattlegore is mostly played in control decks accompanied by the silas or ETC combo nowadays.

Are we really going to hold on to a tech card all day waiting for 1 libram of wisdom and a 9 mana card? The only other minions that's intrinsically weak to silence are edwins and questing adventurers. There's also the matter that spellbreaker sucks in nearly every other game anyway. The only reason why they were deemed too good was because aggro decks were using them to break through taunts without losing too much tempo, and aggro decks have no reason to fear either librams or rattlegore.

I saw that thread before signing in & already saw new stuff that I wouldn't have thought of doing.

You can do the pariah 10 attack thing in Duels. You need to put the guy that decrease the outcast cards by 1. Then get another copy in the loot buckets.

At turn 8 you can chain the 2 mana outcast treasure infinitely. It's an otk too lol.

  • I do hate this new System, here is why:

Hallo everyone. My Name is Samuel from Hearthstone, my Nick ingame is DoktorOkabe. I have so much to tell about the new System as a Pay to Play Player and as a lover since Ungoro.

First off lets talk about the new system. Everyone Hates it, or the biggest half of the community. So me too. Why? Its because Blizzard REALY stole my progress.
I am beeing Slowed Down by A lot. And when i say by a lot, i mean REALY by a lot.

Before the rewamp i could earn nearly a pack or arena ticket a day. (quest + wins). This helps me out to get the cards i didnt draw from the mega bundles i always buy. (blame me or not but i love the game and have the money :D)
But most times i miss about 22 Cards, 18 Legends and 2 or more epics (doubles or solo epics)

After the normal release of a expansion it just need about 4 Weeks to get nearly all my intendet cards. And after this i allways spend the dust for golden ones.

At the moment right now, i only got 3 Packs after the release of Dark Moon Faire.
    This is not much.
And i didnt even got this much gold, cause of the packs on the track.

Hope you all didnt get this wrong but i think, blizzard may stole more than 3000 golds or more. They stole our Free Way to Get everthing when we want it. And this is the biggest issue i can see on the NEW system.

Yeah the first level ups give me 1300 Gold. But to be honest, with the level ups that become more and more xp expensive, it will be harder to get more gold.

I even buy the pass for the nice new skins of Annhylde or the Jaina and Thrall Skins. But i am sad that these are the only ones we get.
For 20 Bucks its about 7 Skins + a gold Skin and a golden Dark Moon Guy. This is not okay, because other games give you more than this. Why no Arena Tickets? or MORE Gold for level ups? Like: 100 for the free way, and 200 for the payed way. I mean this would likely make everyone want to get  the Pass.

Whats your most LOST in the new System?

Did you Enjoy Hearthstone dispite of the new System?

  • Old Gods, New Tricks - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

Anyway, good luck to our future finalists.

  • Hearthstone Rewards Track Patch - Client Updated to Removed End of Track Pack Rewards, Replaced with Gold

Would rather be given $100 a day, every day, or $5,000 at the end of the month? The "feel" of daily rewards may be different, but it's not worth complaining about if you are getting more overall.

I should correct this PSA: I believe it needs 10 permanent attack (unlike the temporary buff of Abusive Sergeant). I completed it in Wild using the [Hearthstone Card (Lanturn of Power) Not Found] from the OG Arch-Thief Rafaam. I would have used other buffs but Demon Hunter is terrible at buffing minions so this seemed like the simplest route. Note it can be done in 1 turn with a single trigger of Emperor Thaurissan.

That's so much more elegant than chaining Outcasts like I forced it (never succeeded in full combo but one of my opponents finally pitied my pariah and let it live for one turn).

  • Hearthstone Rewards Track Patch - Client Updated to Removed End of Track Pack Rewards, Replaced with Gold

These calculations everyone is so hot about are VERY suspect. There is no way anyone outside of Blizzard has all the information necessary to predict what things will look like 3 months from now. If daily gold is all you consider, you are not painting a fair picture at all.

  • Standard needs a viable neutral silence card.

Adding to the above user, there are some Neutral transform cards that you could consider: I used Tinkmaster Overspark in the past, but its randomness makes it tricky, while [Hearthstone Card (Infections Sporeling) Not Found] is slower but less unreliable. Transfer Student can also give plagues (Plague of Murlocs and Plague of Death) in addition to dual class cards like Devolving Missiles. Ironbeak Owl is still decent enough though, if you're desperate for a Neutral Silence.

  • Blizzard LIED and it's NOT FINE

    Quote From AbusingKel

I've already downloaded and started playing LoR.

    You are very welcome :)

I didn't quit for a lot of things other people decided to quit: balance, China incident, boring expansions(I deem this expansion boring btw), burning out, disappointing balance, bad metas, not having a deck to play NOPE kept playing,

Probably cause of sunken cost and sunken time (preordered 4 expansions, 2 small bundles I think.. an adventure, and a starter bundle over 6 years), Also for the feeling of missing out(FOMO) , on new expansions, monthly card back (Didn't miss any since October 2014), since I started studying I am mostly F2P managed to keep up with dailies and previews dust.. (had a lot of dust in extra commons which I didn't dust).

I was hoping for this reward rework + achievements that was the thing I was looking forward to and why I kept playing, I didn't expect this to be a worse system, anyway the more I read about this incident and previous ones the more I am mad about the stuff I didn't quit for

I could give another run down of things I am mad about but you know what? **** this game.

  • The Top Standard Hearthstone Decks for Each Class in Darkmoon Faire

I think this article mainly shows how unrefined the meta still is. Three of these decks have no new cards, which to me shows that there is still a lot of room to explore and refine new decks. I wonder how this list will look in a week, I hope you guys will make an article comparing the two. Small question though: which ranks do these winrates into account? Is it all ranks or something else?

  • Standard needs a viable neutral silence card.

I have thought about this before (mostly regarding ways to deal with Rattlegore but it is the same story for librams), and if you actually break it down by what each class has it looks fine overall:

So 5 of the 10 classes have viable ways to remove librams, druid has a more versatile alternative to the Owl, and the rest have a neutral option if they feel they need it. That sounds like good class design to me.

Just as some classes have to accept they won't get strong AoE or healing, some classes have to accept they won't have strong silence options. Whether the rest choose to use their silences (or equivalent) is up to them, but that is not at all the same as there being "no viable silence card in Standard".

  • Blizzard LIED and it's NOT FINE

Prior to staring my usual Sunday morning routine (Hearthstone and some Forzathon Live runs) I decided to redo the math on the rewards track. I'm a bit sluggish and the coffee hasn't kicked in yet, so I could certainly be off or have omitted something.

In the old system of daily quests and daily gold I am assuming earnings of 8500 gold per expansion, which is a low estimate based on 70g per day if 50g quest plus 6 wins. Better quests / re-rolls should have most above this figure playing a short time each day.

    This calculation ignores:

    • all cosmetics and all packs from prior sets since they cannot be saved to purchase packs from the next set, which is what gold was saved for in the prior reward structure. Blizzard knows these packs are trash rewards and is insulting us by including their “value” in calculations.
    • the first legendary at level 1 since that was previously given out when a new expansion launched, anyway.
    • the second legendary at level 25 to offset the massive amount of dust required to craft legendary & epic cards needed to chase achievements, and that's being super generous.

    This calculation includes:

    • all 7 Darkmoon Faire packs since they can be acquired while the pack is still relevant, though level 40 and 46 may be too late.
    • both Tavern Tickets since they certainly have a 150 gold value, even if it’s not useful to all players.

    At level 50 we will have earned 5200 gold, though 700 is "spent" on packs and 300 on arena/duels entry. (Gold calculation: 7 MDF packs = 700, 2 Tavern Tickets = 300, 12 levels reward 100 = 1200, 6 levels reward 150 = 900, 6 levels reward 200 = 1200, 3 levels reward 300 = 900)

At level 50 we still need 3300 gold to reach the 8500 gold mark. Which means we need 22 more level up rewards @ 150 each. At level 72 we hit the mark, which is the low end of what the original system allowed.

One of my big complaints is that we were told we'd be rewarded for playing the same way we've always played. To me, that meant rewards weren't tied so heavily to ranked and reaching prior earnings could be done in any game mode, as I saw fit as the player. Instead, I am forced to play the way Blizzard prescribes in this system, including blowing through my dust to reach achievements. I don't care about achievements to begin with. Now am I forced to do them to earn gold and they cost me my dust, as well as my time digging around the interface to find them, then building & playing decks to achieve them. It looks like a huge, huge time sink, requiring more time playing (to reach achievements) and browsing the track to find & accept achievement rewards.

To me, there are only 2 possible explanations, both are bad. Either Ben Lee lied when telling us we'd earn the same amount or the devs have zero control over final earnings and the monetization team is to blame. There's no way any developer could look at this (original or now-patched version) and be surprised by the backlash.

I fully expect to be starving for gold by mid-December (I have about 3800 atm) if not earlier. This whole thing makes me rather sad as a fully invested player that started on day one of open beta. I absolutely refuse to engage in this terrible system. I'll stick around while I have in game gold and dust to spend with the hopes they'll fix this but I have no more faith in this company.

It seems wise to keep this conversation in view. Blizzard's band aid is not enough and they shouldn't be allowed to let this fade.

I've already downloaded and started playing LoR.

  • The Top Standard Hearthstone Decks for Each Class in Darkmoon Faire

Happened every expansion.  The first week's top meta decks are always an established aggro deck with few tweeks.  It's exactly as you say, they climb the ranks quickly against people experimenting.  If you are trying to make a rush to legendary it's a good time to do that because of the way the meta plays out, you only lose a piece of your soul by doing it...
