  • RoadCraft's First Look at Bulldozers - Wheeled & Tracked Variants

Would be cool if heavier loads actually feels heavy.

  • Ridge Racer 64 Is Coming to Nintendo Switch Online

This is one of those games that I forget even existed. Not saying it's bad, but it's kinda weird seeing it get added instead of something more well-known from the series.

  • What Are You Playing? Fantabulous February 2025

While doing the Weekly Challenge in GT7, I somehow managed to run two entirely identical lap times back-to-back (laps 4 and 5).

EDIT: And by the way, CastrolTomsSupra is not my PSN name, even though I wish it was. The game has you make your own driver name.

  • Marvel Snap is Fully Operational Again in the US After Purchase Outage, New Publishing Agreement

This compensation package is super generous of Second Dinner, especially since (as I understand the problem) the blackout was completely out of their control. Thank you, Second Dinner!

  • Lies of P: You Can Be a Real Soulslike, And That's No Lie - A Timely Review

Of course! Glad to be of service hehe

I would add two things to the review, which I lost track of and couldn't find space to add in after the fact:

    1. The music is great, as I noted, but the game also does a solid job of knowing when not to have any. You want to exacerbate the creepiness of an environment? Wander around it in relative silence, listening to the enemies stomp along their path or groan in misery D: An official soundtrack can't capture that.
    2. Bosses love their second-phases with full health bars. It becomes very predictable, and it starts earlier than one might suspect. "Big lumbering moveset followed by a faster + different phase 2" is in store for ya, and as you might expect there are no checkpoints between the phases. There's still enough variety and cool-moments to keep this all in check, but I can imagine it might turn off or frustrate some people.

  • Turn-Based Tactics and Real-Time Dodges in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 - Release Date Announced

*excited squealing noises* I'm super fucking hyped for Clair Obscur! Should have no problem maintaining my hype for 3 months and a day - I could easily see Expedition 33 as my Game of the Year (and maybe the official one too?). And I can't believe this gorgeous game is only $50; that seems insane to me!

My only "problem" is how packed that one week in April appears to be: Mandragora on the 17th, Lunar Remastered Collection on the 18th, and now Clair Obscur on the 24th! I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting; watch Hollow Knight: Silksong drop that month too, because of course lol >_>

  • Pokemon TCG Pocket's Next Expansion is Space-Time Smackdown! See the New Cards Including Dialga and Palkia

Pachirisu's text mentions Pokemon Tools, which IIRC are like held items equipped to Pokemon. So a whole 'nother thing to consider!

  • What Are You Playing? Jump-Start January 2025

Sorry to hear that, StormKnightSera. I'll keep my fingers crossed for things to massively improve quickly on your side!

On my end, two things dominate gaming January:

    • Finished my first Diablo 4 season with a very decent Necromancer, I was able to consistently beat Duriel on Torment 4 in the end! Also got all the best mythics and tried my hands at trading 2 items - now I have 8 billion gold in my Eternal account lol. This season I went with the barbarian class. Haven't come far yet, but smashing baddies with Hammer of the Ancients is super fun!
    • Hearthstone is completely on the sideline when it comes to game time. That said... I'm still having the biggest success ever somehow. Reached a new personal best at rank 35 yesterday, exclusively playing Hooktusk Rogue which is a tier 3 deck lol. I will keep pushing this with a hand full of games per day and see how far it can go. Not gonna lie, I do feel proud about that one.
  • Lies of P: You Can Be a Real Soulslike, And That's No Lie - A Timely Review

Really enjoyed reading through this review and the game definitelly scaled in my "priority list" because of it.

    Thank you very much! :D

  • What Are You Playing? Jump-Start January 2025

Diablo IV's Season of Witchcraft started yesterday. I wasn't planning to do anything with it - still got the RTS Steam Fest to review, plus Black Myth: Wukong and so on, but my motivation was torpedoed by some personal events that hit me over the last couple days. I'm just gonna play some Diablo for a bit and try to feel better; January has really sucked.

  • What Are You Playing? Jump-Start January 2025

howdy y'all, im back for a bit with some internet. Going to be traveling back to the states so going to have some time to play some more demanding games which I'm excited for! Anywho, I've been doing a fair bit of indies recently still. Slowly playing through Scarmonde and YIIK (again, but they updated it now and its soooo much funnier now), and at the start of the month I absolutely clobbered the entirety of Chained Echoes.

In terms of the two meat-and-potato games, I've been playing a ton of Rotwood and an even larger ton of Crystal Project. Rotwood is just a fantastic game, kinda like Hades if you replaced everyone with potentially fluffy (?) animals/non-humanoids and made one of the weapons have the ability to dunk on people. It's build-crafting leads to some of the most stupid looking gameplay I've ever seen, with my favorite so far being one based around putting on a bunch of heavy clothing and fat rolling into people and just having them die. It's still in EA, but its going to have a price bump towards launch, so I'd check it out if it's something you're mildly interested. Oh and it has multiplayer but I obviously haven't gotten the chance to try it.

As for the other one, MAN is Crystal Project probably my favorite JRPG of all time. Base game is a wonderful experience through and through, but I've been having fun making mods recently. Currently have two, one is more or less finished and it takes the whole 'yeah I want to decide what skills I want" leveling you usually would have in a JRPG and throws it out the window of a Slay the Spire-esque "draft abilities to add to your toolkit" method. Pretty fun so far but I want to change a thing or two because it's a bit overtuned. As for the other mod, it just kinda doubles the game's playable unlockable classs from 24 to 48. Been learning how to sprite things for it so some are hit or miss, but some are really decent if you ask me. It's a precursor to a larger mod I want to make, releasing just the classes to make sure they are more balanced so I can try to avoid a balance nightmare. That being said the 24 new classes are a bit funny looking back on, because some range from "yeah this is just a plant themed support mage" to "yeah this is just a bunch of casino games some idiot coded into this game for some reason", ie something that only someone who is really bored and lacks internet would do. All that said (and despite what Sera says), play Crystal Project, game is very good.

  • Marvel Snap No Longer Usable in the US as a Result of TikTok Ban

I wish my country banned tik-tok too. At least it seems they did it properly in the US, i.e. targeting the main company not just the app.

Hopefully Snap resumes soon. It's a collateral that shouldn't have happened. Now it's high time to change the publisher.

  • Grunty Heroes of StarCraft Reveal for January 19th - Day 5

This is deFINitely slow for a Murloc deck, but I kinda like it, mainly because there's an OK* chance of rolling Carefree Cookie as one of the four to both clear out some minions and establish a decent board. I agree that this is unlikely to see a lot of play (since it's not always going to help win the board, and winning the board on turn 8 isn't that big of a deal in current Hearthstone anyway). I still think it's cool.

Also, Hearthstone's card library is slightly more optimistic about the card pool (mainly because of fish like Murloc Warleader and One Amalgam Band).

    *Not a mathematically relevant term.

  • Grunty Heroes of StarCraft Reveal for January 19th - Day 5

It's kind of an odd choice. Both this and the previous miniset are ridiculously low power level. I wonder if they're trying to scale the game's power level down a little, like the Year of the Raven did. If so, 2026 is gonna be a great year.

  • Grunty Heroes of StarCraft Reveal for January 19th - Day 5

I havent commented on my of the cards thus far, mostly down to the lack of free time, but man I just got to make an exception for this one.

The cards rubbish. Comparable to Goliath, Sneed's Masterpiece, but worse, much worse. Wheras at least sneeds does the job, putting 10 damage to your opponent's board and developing an 8/8, this card doesnt even guarantee the damage dealt and is itself a feeble 3/4. The only mitigating circumstance is playing this on an empty board where its decent but nothing special but its practically an impossibility anyway on turn 8.

Well, I suppose where every expansion needs a fun but dud card, this one's it in spades.

  • Starcraft Comes to Hearthstone on January 21st in The Great Dark Beyond Mini-Set: Heroes of StarCraft!

Obviously this will only be proven when we get it hands on but somehow I very much doubt launching starships gonna be impactful. It just feels so contrived, in a world where you get destroyed if you so much as leave 1-2 minions on board untouched past turn 3.

  • Grunty Heroes of StarCraft Reveal for January 19th - Day 5

He does seem quite bad, yes. His highrolls are pretty decent, but the lowrolls are really bad. Sadly, the current Murloc Standard pool also has more bad rolls than good ones.

Regis' livelihood just got torpedoed in the crossfire. Not to mention everyone else who was reliant on Snap and/or TikTok 😧

  • Grunty Heroes of StarCraft Reveal for January 19th - Day 5

Isn't Grunty...terrible? 8-Mana for a 3/4 with an effect that's Super Duper random and can't go face. You're just hoping the Murlocs are big enough to clear stuff.

  • Grunty Heroes of StarCraft Reveal for January 19th - Day 5

That's a funny effect. Love the little guy.

  • What Are You Playing? Jump-Start January 2025

I was fighting a flu for about a week, and the second day was by far the worst. I went through some bad shit there.

But now that I'm not sick out of my mind anymore, it's time to do more Freedom Planet 2. Carol's story is done. Up next, Milla!
