If Blizzard gave me a coin for every time I was in the same situation, I'd have 2 coins. Which isn't enough for a pack, but it's weird that it happened twice.
Once was with probably my first entry into the Class Design Competition back on Hearthpwn. I decided to make a 'Weaponsmith'. Turns out, there isn't much you can accomplish with weapons, especially when your keyword revolved around having your weapon active during your opponent's turn.
The second was with an expansion centred around an elemental war. The (then) 9 classes were split into 3 sub-factions, a la Gagetzan, and the idea was that each faction would have a keyword that was strong against another faction and weak vs the third. Turns out, something like that is almost impossible to balance.
if i remember correctly, Dean said that they "were working on a rogue hero skin", my honest guess is that Dean probably referred to the book of heroes Rogue skin, which will just be another dang Valeera skin... I really hope we will get a new ALTERNATE rogue skin, a.k.a. not Valeera. But seeing how the HS team is handling hero skins right now, my hopes are really low for a good alternate skin with new voice-lines.
Okay, please bear in mind that I really like your expansion overall. Here's what caught my eye:
Aleatoric Platform is OP, Adventure Forest might be problematic, too.
Crafting Materials probably wouldn't work with wordy spells and multiple Choose Ones.
Headshot's wording is a bit weird. Is it possible to target damaged characters that happen to 4 Health or do they have to have 4 Health by default?
The Hunter set is too spell heavy for my taste (only 2 minions!) and there's too much AOE, even if some of it is conditional or random.
I'm not sure how Skip the Tutorial is meant to work. How can I avoid drawing a card at the start of my turn?
Dungeon Loot needs to say "Legendary minion" or at least "card".
Twenty Player Raid, Save the World! and Adventurer Lynessa would be broken in Wild Odd Paladin.
Could you explain how Portalist Gla'dos is supposed to work? Will it be damaged the usual way when it's alone on the board or already occupies the leftmost space?
Lights Out might be too dangerous, there was a reason why Conceal got HoF'ed.
Tomb Diving looks scary as well.
Making Taunt the key mechanism for Shaman feels a bit off.
Auto-Attack cards shouldn't be part of constructed, so AI Assailant is a big no for me.
I'd align the effects of Deadlined Debugger and Disgruntled Developer - either put the hand size reduction first or second.
What is Sorcery Mentor meant to do? Does it change your hero power or just the skin and the emotes?
Thanks again for the feedback guys. I really dropped the ball in the infinite hand issue.
After some considerations I made two differente versions of the card (both with LoE watermark, because of the adventure vipe of the set), one at 3-mana with a echo-ish effect to allow a max of 3 different spell at normal circunstancies, and one at 2-mana with a extra copies effects.
I liked the 3-mana version because is ok at turns 3-4-5 and become better later on. What do you guys think?
I think you need to play rexxar's story in book of heroes to get it. I have done everything else that you need to do. But of course we need to wait until rexxar's story comes out.
and it is now an Epic Card because i think the abilities and the Stats suit a Epic Card more than a Rare.
Not entirely Sure about the changes tough.
-------------------
Also tried another Version. This is like the Original Version but i changed the stats to 3/3
--------
Heres another One where i changed from Draw a spell to Discover a Spell.
The only concern i have about this one. Should the Discovered Spell be under some kind of restriction? like Discover a Spell that costs (3) or less for example?
Gonna edit a little bit and maybe post other versions. So far i like the Rare ones better than the Epic Version.
Wow, what a great idea! While I'm not happy with all the cards, it's a really really cool expansion theme with the ultimate watermark. So much great art! Well done!
I tried burning him with vengeance they used a burst spellshield with spell mana. I tried buffing a follower to drop him they used two cheap spells to give him barrier with the draw engine they have I just found it impossible to kill him with my deck. I’d say vengeance needs a buff but it’s fine against everyday that does’t have spellshield which leads me to believe once again spellshield is just to damn useful.
Glad to see I’m not alone in wondering how to kill him. I’m glad the are trying to balance underused cards so they are useful but damn he is strong
When playing a deck with frostbite though he isn’t that much of a proble
I have to disagree with the last sentence buddy, spell shield can counter frostbite and even if you don't have it Lee Sin players are only going to attack after they give him a barrier, so he will still survive the encounter even if he doesn't kill you units.
Spellshield does NOT counter frostbite from abilities - e.g. Icevale Archer, Sejuani, and Ashe's attack. I guarantee 100% that these abilities go right through the spellshield. It does counter harsh winds though.
Hmm the buff to bastion yap that seems about right. /Considers quitting
These kinds of changes happen at least 1-2 weeks ahead of the actual patch. So, when they planned the changes for this patch, they had only just buffed Lee Sin. At the time, Bastion was seeing no play. Even now, with Lee Sin proving so powerful, many of the decks still don't use Bastion. It has definitely been under-used until now.
However, this change is WAAAAY over the top. Now, the best Lee Sin deck is for SURE one with Targon. Maybe even including Taric to double up on the Bastion effect. Brace yourselves guys - you're gonna lose to Lee Sin a lot over the next two weeks. Or else you're gonna learn how to play him.
But mirror matches of Lee Sin ... those will be brutal.
the Tortollan Pilgrim nerf destroys an entire archetype, and hits the card SIGNIFICANTLY. Pretty sure most highlander mages might even consider not running it anymore. Highlander mage mainly used this so they can cast a spell twice, but now that use is gone. At least you can still get out Luna's Pocket Galaxy with Tortollan Pilgrim. Sure turtle mage was annoying to play against, and i personally have 0 experience playing the deck, but this nerf seems really harsh to me. Why didn't they lower Tortollan Pilgrims cost by 1 to compensate? Well we will have to see if the cards still any good..
Guardian Animals nerf is VERY justified. huge mana cheating, removal, often draw and/or cleaves with rush. Extremely powerfull card that HAD to be toned down a bit. That being said, i'm glad it's a mana nerf, instead of an effect nerf like Tortollan Pilgrim. Imagine if they changed GA to only draw beasts that cost 4 or less, that would have killed the card. Guardian Animals is still going to be an insane card at 8 mana. This is a great nerf, because now druids can't turn 4 Overgrowth into turn 5 Guardian Animals! This is a flat out 1 additional turn they need to wait to get Guardian Animals out. This mana nerf to Guardian Animals is a huge blow to guardian druid and Malygos druid, but it was necessary, in order to get the game in a more healthy state. There might be new decks that show up now that their biggest weakness got nerfed, just looking at some of the predictions Trump made, this next meta might be a lot more interesting.
Lulu's Art is Receiving an Update in the Next Patch - Or Now in Labs
Unpopular opinion: I kind of liked the crazy, manic Lulu. I made a deck featuring Lulu and Jinx (not recommended) and called it Girls Gone Wild.
