I got Chenvaala as it's the only mage legendary I was missing.

  • Runeterra Patch 1.10 - Balance Changes, New Lab, Standard Gauntlet Picks and Bans, and Cross-Shard Friend Challenges

Regarding Gauntlet: I think you mean "new free players," not "casual players." I know it sounds like quibbling, but they are very different demographics.

Love the ez nerf and the lee sin rework. Haven't seen him a lot lately but he always seemed way to easy to level.

Hoping Lee Sin is more playable now.

Wish they would have done something about Sejuani too as she seems way too easy to level for such a good level 2 ability.

    Seriously?!

Ezreal nerf is too much, imo.

Not in the first one, the one that uses the paid skin. Her voice actually sounds younger, although her lines are the same.

"No neutral thoughts allow you to better understand your magic. That's deep man."

My card idea for the contest. Thoughts?

I see that you've made a way to help all-spell mage without using the text "no spells".  You might want to keep in mind that there's already a submission which is similar: 2 mana 2/3 mage minion that draws 2 spells from your deck if the no neutral requirement is met.

I got a duplicate epic from my free pack: Apexis Blast. I was surprised by this, as I don't have all the mage epics in standard.

But all of her new voicelines are interactions with other characters. She still has her normal Thanks,Well played, greetings, wow, oops and threaten emote in the new mode. So that's not really an arguement

We have quite a few newcomers here, so welcom aboard!

Took off a point of health in the original version of my card and added a version with taunt based on anchorm4n's usggestion. Also considering 5/8 and 5/7 for stats respectively. Which do you think is better and do you feel that it violates what the prompt is about? I don't feel that it is the case, but some might feel differently.

BloodMefist - Neutral should be capitalized.  Does the 6 damage replace the 4 damage to does it add on to it? It would be quite powerful and be good against deathrattles if it did add on.

R - I don't like the warlock one because if it is very matchup dependent and functions a lot like a tech card, which isn't fitting for a legendary imo. It would be useless against another no netural deck, for instance.  It should say "in your opponents deck", not "into your opponent's deck".

I like Beast Tamer a lot. It shouldn't have a classic watermark.

anchorm4n - Seems really interesting. A like it a lot.

Neoguli - The first is too similar to Zephrys too my liking, same statline and slightly different payoff. Kenzou reminds me of Thief of Futures from the Taverns of Time event.  You might want to templete it like that (adding a copy instead of stealing it) to reduce the feel-bad feeling from your opponent.

JackJimson - There a bit too much going on here for me. There are two different and interesting ideas here, but I think you should pick just one to reduce the text since its cramped.  I think you meant to have the minions go dormant for 2 turns, otherwise this is 3-mana Crushing Walls with upside in a no netural deck, which I think is too powerful.

bigcums - Could be abuseable with Raise Dead, but maybe not.  I think its a cool idea, regardless.

FieselFitz - I think both the spell and minion could cost 3 and it will be playable but not overpowered.  I think both are pretty cool. I don't have a preference for either one. Sorry it that wasn't very helpful.

allthehype - Neutral should be capitalized. Discover two more doesn't really add or take away from the card than if were keep all 3.  I guess there's a few more choices. Either way, I like the card.

Shivershine - Two underpowered imo. I could see this being 4 mana and it would be in a good spot, but maybe 5 if you wanted to play it safe.  If it had stealth and poisonous unconditionally, I still would find it to be as playable as Gyrocopter.

KANSAS - Seems good for control.  The text is a little cramped and I not a big fan or the art.

Cg8889 - Might give priest some burst potential that it shouldn't have, but I like it.  It shouldn't have a classic watermark though.

grayghost39 - Solid card! I don't have much more to add.

  • Targon's new mechanic Spellshield and Hush seem very problematic

So basically, your argument is "Hush is unhealthy because it's an indirect nerf to these archetypes that many people considered unhealthy."

No my argument is that one cheap card that you can't respond to, should not be able to shut down a deck, and those two were just examples there are other archetypes that Hush can shut down.

The decks you mentioned were polarizing, uninteractive, and unfun to play against before Hush came along, so I don't think you'll find much sympathy on that front.

Polarizing? The same thing could have been said for Midrange Frostbite, Deep Monsters, Shen/Fiora. All top tier deck have their fans and their haters but unhealthy and uninteractive, that just nonsense. There are many decks who could beat them consistently including the one mentioned above.

In fact, Ezreal was on the watchlist for a possible nerf, and Karma was on a previous watchlist. If Hush keeps them in check, they won't have to be nerfed, so maybe you should be grateful Hush exists.

I should be grateful? Are you serious ? I couldn't care less about Ezreal and Karma getting nerfed. In fact I'd rather have strong cards getting hit with the nerf hammer than having the game introduce a card than can shut down an archetypes will being completely useless against others.

yep, I remember reading some time ago that indeed it does

basically every type of card pack has it's own pity timer and first 10 pack leg timer, be it golden pack, mage pack or a standard pack

  • 6 Most Underrated Runeterra Cards from Call of the Mountain

    Quote From Grumpy000

unfortunately For The Fallen reduces the cost only if in hand while summoning Elites, so either you mulligan for a 8 mana cost card, or it's of no use

It's true it only reduces while in-hand, but Mogwai makes the case (which I buy) that just makes its final cost reasonable: if you draw it early, it will continuously get reduced until you can play it mid-game for half-price; if you top-deck it late-game, you can afford to pay the full 8 mana.

  • Runeterra Patch 1.10 - Balance Changes, New Lab, Standard Gauntlet Picks and Bans, and Cross-Shard Friend Challenges

I wouldn’t worry too much about Standard Gauntlet becoming less popular, since right now it’s basically just ranked with a slightly different rewards payout, so I don’t think it was all that popular. Now it’s a significantly different game mode, so maybe people who love the Bo3 format will enjoy playing it a lot. This also lets them test how interested the community is in a Bo3, so they can decide whether it should be added as another game mode or stay a part of Gauntlet.

Especially considering that's what you play with beyond the first encounter.

That is fair, I will try to create something else.

  • We don't need power creep

I actually still don't think ASOL itself is a problem card. Though according to today's patch notes they may be changing his level up requirements in the future.  IMO the most problematic card is actually Cosmic Inspiration.  To me it needs to be nerfed to not refill spell mana.  As it stands if you cast this on turn 10 with full mana (10+3) It can become obscene since you can cast it twice in a single turn and still be left with 3 mana and 3 spell mana.  I understand it's a celestial card and therefore supposed to feel powerful, but it either needs to cost more (and refill spell mana), or not refill spell mana at all.  As it stands if you float mana from turns 1-2, and then play celestials on turns 3-4.  You can get this out as early as turn 5 which can be backbreaking to play against, even if you yourself are playing a similar deck.

(along with all the Timmy players loving ASol)

There's no need to insult a subset of a playerbase just because they like a particular card.

  • Runeterra Patch 1.10 - Balance Changes, New Lab, Standard Gauntlet Picks and Bans, and Cross-Shard Friend Challenges

Well damn it: I literally just started using War Chefs two days ago >_<

  • Runeterra Patch 1.10 - Balance Changes, New Lab, Standard Gauntlet Picks and Bans, and Cross-Shard Friend Challenges

Lee Sin's changes are interesting, he can gain barrier, so his health is not that important, two less mana cost is huge. Playing 8 spells instead of 7 can be a bit too much, but maybe they playtested him with the new stats and the old level up requirement and he was too good.

Ezrael's nerf is too big in my opinion, 10 targets its maybe overnerfing; not that i complain.

Yordle Grifter's nerf is the best nerf, the card was played just for the body and the warning shot, if it did nab a card it was just a bonus, if it didn't whatever. Now it's important to play the card only in almost mono-bilgewater decks; the only downside is that you'll feel even worse when your opponent gets the allegiance in a non mono-bilgewater.

Cygnus's buff is good, the card alredy saw some play in nightfall decks, now i'd say is a card that will be sure to be find in those kind of decks.

War chefs's nerf is ok, damacia midrange decks are just a bit over the curve.

Flash of brilliance came back, honestly i think the nerf to Heimerdinger's 3 drop was good by itself, and flash of brilliance didn't deserve a nerf at that point.

I like how the gauntlet now will differentiate from ladder and is going to a direction similar to a tournament setting; maybe requiring casual players to have 3 decks that they want to play and are good decks is a bit too much, i can see the mode fail for this reason (for example, in mtg arena, single games were played much more than best of 3 games; even if mtg was born as a best of 3)

What's hilarious is that the Jaina from the Solo Adventure - despite having the same portrait as the purchaseable one - has actually new voice lines. I really can't fathom why they wouldn't use them for the new skin

    Quote From Majere

The mage packs are intriguing. Given that there's a 10 pack pity counter on most pack types until you open your first legendary, does this mean we have a 10% chance of opening a mage legendary in the pack we earn for completing the solo content?

The pity timer does not applies to special packs (golden, these, year of XXX etc.)

But they are still great, thanks to no duplication rule and cards from standard you will get any standard cards you miss.

  • We don't need power creep

    Quote From meisterz39
    Quote From FortyDust

The first week, Aurelion Sol's power level was magnified by the psychological effect of seeing a 10/10 SpellShielded Champion that often levels up immediately. But players have already gotten much better at dealing with him, so he's not quite as demoralizing as he initially was. This in turn makes it more likely people will actually try to fight instead of just giving up, which will result in even more games he does not win.

Eventually, once everyone is used to him and knows how to deal with him, I think he'll settle into a real (not just perceived) power level that's entirely suitable for a 10-mana Champion.

Just so I'm clear on what you mean - are you saying that you believe the other new archetypes are balanced well against ASol? Because I'm not really talking about him in a global sense, but scoped down to the latest expansion. Aurelion Sol Control is not entirely oppressive to the game and all other regions, but it is far and away the most powerful new archetype because the rest of the new archetypes are effectively unusually slow midrange decks. There may be metagames where some of those slower midrange archetypes can succeed, but I suspect any metagame that slow will inevitably devolve into an ASol Control meta.

I've been using Silverfuse's Freljord-SI every-troll deck, and it never loses against ASol. It also performs very well against older archetypes. So no, I cannot agree that the ASol archetype is the most powerful of the new set. It's just the most popular. Huge difference.

I also very strongly disagree that the meta is stale. Seeing older decks continuing to thrive (along with all the Timmy players loving ASol) may make it feel stale to some players, but that's a perception, not a fact.
