The mage packs are intriguing. Given that there's a 10 pack pity counter on most pack types until you open your first legendary, does this mean we have a 10% chance of opening a mage legendary in the pack we earn for completing the solo content?
Mage already had access to powerful conditional lifegain in the past, with Frost Lich Jaina, Reno Jackson (although not mage, it strongly supported one of it's archetypes), and to a lesser extent, Arcane Artificer. Strengths and weaknesses are a guideline, occasionally breaking from it is fine as long as you keep in flavor for the class. At least that is my reasoning behind why this card is fine; if you still disagree with me, could you please explain your side further?
You are completely right on the Neutral bit, I'll fix it in the next version (if I make one).
Frost Lich Jaina is also one of the least liked cards in the entire game, and one reason for that is how much it allows Mage to overcome that weakness and then some, so basing your balance off of that card is probably not the best idea.
Works like Lightning Breath in Shaman, this would help give a board buff for Priest.
Couldn't decide if I needed to increase the mana cost but wanted to keep it in line with power of something like Apotheosis when requirement wasn't met. I guess with deck building, you wouldn't run this with neutral cards so I guess I would increase the mana to 4. Does that seem more in line with the power of the card?
Certainly true, but the default Jaina emotes are already friendly and use simple language, as you might expect young Jaina to use. The only emote she has that has any hint of anger or darkness to it is her threaten, but unless young Jaina has a low confidence, almost apologetic threaten, I don't see why hers wouldn't be angry too.
That is not to say I wouldn't like new emotes, but her existing ones would work just fine if it wasn't for the fact we already have them.
Edit: since she does have new voice lines in the adventure, it just became a little harder to defend...
One big problem I see with this card is set context. Class Legendaries do not exist in Karazhan (or any of the preceding adventures), so you should not make a card for this competition for that set. As a matter of fact, No Neutral cards didn't exist until Descent of Dragons, so for the sake of following the game's "continuity" (for lack of a better word), cards for this competition should only be from that set or later. There are also a lot of custom watermarks to sidestep the issue entirely.
I choose the Karazhan watermark purely for flavor reasons. Aegwynn was the one who constructed Karazhan, but I see why I shouldn't use the watermark.
Life gain is also a weakness of Mage, meaning that a card that permanently gives them a source of Armor is probably not a good idea since it will allow them to pretty much completely overcome that weakness. Arcane Artificer is not as egregious in this regard because it only works while it's on the board. Neutral should also be capitalized.

Yeah Mogwai plays some pretty cool lists. But the archetypes aren't invented by him certainly. You can play undead anivia, you can play Demacia elites, you can play Jinx Draven, these lists are always viable, they just don't win as often as Bilgewater which is a little too high tempo right now.
This is my first ever card submission, so I'm not experienced in this. Anyways, I haven't seen any mage cards on here, so I'm here to fix that.
This is meant to be a control tool for big spell mage, trading out all neutral cards for armor. For interactions, this works like a permanent Arcane Artificer.
So many new faces this comp. That makes me happy. Welcome aboard, and most importantly, have fun. Don't hesitate to ask any questions if you have any.

I'm done taking heroes that force a specific tribe. didn't triple into bran? guess your entire run is fucked, too bad you forced murlocs for the last 6 turns.
Seems some, ahem, physical enhancement was carried out. Unfortunately that likely was reason for present day Jania got nerfed.
Are you talking about the portrait we're getting? If so then I agree. Not even the same person.
I still hate that they covered up her cleavage. Not because i'm a perv who likes to look at that but because people were actually bothered by it. I don't know if I said this on here or not but it's crazy that as a society we are ok with violence but a little cleavage needs to be covered up. This is a game based on a very violent video game. If you can't handle cleavage you shouldn't be playing these games.
It's not just Mogwai. Any deck showcased by a prominent streamer will become much more popular for a day or two. Mogwai is just the most popular streamer (with the possible exception of Swim), so the effect is magnified for his decks.
The first week, Aurelion Sol's power level was magnified by the psychological effect of seeing a 10/10 SpellShielded Champion that often levels up immediately. But players have already gotten much better at dealing with him, so he's not quite as demoralizing as he initially was. This in turn makes it more likely people will actually try to fight instead of just giving up, which will result in even more games he does not win.
Eventually, once everyone is used to him and knows how to deal with him, I think he'll settle into a real (not just perceived) power level that's entirely suitable for a 10-mana Champion.
Just so I'm clear on what you mean - are you saying that you believe the other new archetypes are balanced well against ASol? Because I'm not really talking about him in a global sense, but scoped down to the latest expansion. Aurelion Sol Control is not entirely oppressive to the game and all other regions, but it is far and away the most powerful new archetype because the rest of the new archetypes are effectively unusually slow midrange decks. There may be metagames where some of those slower midrange archetypes can succeed, but I suspect any metagame that slow will inevitably devolve into an ASol Control meta.
To your point about adjusting, I think people are basically used to him already, and are able to play around him with traditional aggro and midrange builds. But the Call of the Mountain expansion released a bunch of archetypes that can't simultaneously compete with him and these faster midrange builds that have already saturated the meta for a while, which is why the metagame looks so stale. It's hard to speculate on what the metagame would look like if they had released the full set up front because we don't know exactly what's coming next, but I expect it would look a lot fresher because there would be renewed experimentation with a lot of the regions that got only two cards in the new expansion.
With so little new content to work with, it's no wonder the best Spider Aggro/Endure decks, or Pirate Aggro, or Bilge/Demacia Scout decks already existed. And that's a real failure on the part of Riot to keep the game fresh.
Now it summons 2 at first. Couldn't find a more suitable Art right now but i`m gonna keep on looking. Also tought about changing it from Spell to a Totem Minion that has only the Neutral Phrase in it without summoning one at first. Gonna keep on looking and changing.
Neither SpellShield nor Hush appear in any of the top-tier decks right now, so it's pretty obvious that these effects are not a problem. Targon as a region is barely represented in the competitive meta right now, apart from Trundle-ASol.
In fact, these effects are absolutely necessary if you want Targon decks to have any chance at all against the heavy hitters of the previous set.
I have to disagree on Hush, sure it doesn't appear on any top-tier deck but that's mostly because there isn't any top tier Targon deck at moment, which pretty normal since we still don't have all the cards for this expansion yet.
Most Targon decks that I encounter in ranked do run the card and she pretty much the reason why I stopped using decks like The Rekindler/Anivia or Ezreal/Karma, spending 10 rounds setting up your board and leveling up your champions, only for your opponent to deny you your win condition with one 3 mana card that you can't respond to due to it's burst speed, is not healthy card design not to mention salt inducing.
Anyway this is just my opinion on the matter fell free to disagree.
So basically, your argument is "Hush is unhealthy because it's an indirect nerf to these archetypes that many people considered unhealthy."
The decks you mentioned were polarizing, uninteractive, and unfun to play against before Hush came along, so I don't think you'll find much sympathy on that front. In fact, Ezreal was on the watchlist for a possible nerf, and Karma was on a previous watchlist. If Hush keeps them in check, they won't have to be nerfed, so maybe you should be grateful Hush exists.

Faces of the Old Ones works better than you'd think because of how ramp decks work. For a ramp deck, stall is almost as good as actual ramp, so if your opponent is spending time and resources taking out your Faces, it has done its job. Even if it does nothing but eat a Mystic Shot, that's 2 mana spent by your opponent and 2 damage that didn't go to your Nexus. Early in the game, that's all or most of an entire turn. Getting a ramp card out on turn 2 does make a difference.

unfortunately For The Fallen reduces the cost only if in hand while summoning Elites, so either you mulligan for a 8 mana cost card, or it's of no use
