  • Micro Mummy Has Been Removed From Battlegrounds Again Due to Mobile Issues

    Just a reminder:

BG is in BETA. You should expect beta problems. Blizz is still working on testing/debug tools. They are iterating the releases faster than they would for a "release" project.

Blizz has been straight forward about this.  People should be upset that a Beta game/mode has sticky bugs. They are probably test different development tools/logic/paths etc.

To me, this like people reading "Caution: contents may be hot" and then getting upset when they burn themselves.

I’ve changed my card, as the 2-class Secret had some issues with it. Let me know what you think! I’ll try to give feedback later.

    Yeah, I like this better

Again, I don’t think a bug like this showing up multiple times (or even once) in the finished product is an acceptable thing in the slightest, it just annoys me when people seem to get this idea that a game without bugs is such an easy thing to accomplish and that it’s horrible if any end up in the finished product. That’s not a realistic vision in the slightest.

And a game like this doesn’t get as much leeway with gameplay bugs as a single player game might. Where in a single player game a weird bug happening might actually add to the experience in a way (the speed running community is a good example of this) in a multiplayer game it’ll often just dampen the experience for one or both players.

Looking at the state of bigger gaming companies as a whole these days, it really wouldn’t surprise me if these bugs were a result of poor working conditions and crunches. Lots of bad things happen in those kinds of companies, so it’d make sense this would be the end result.

Someone saying that a finished game shouldn’t contain any bugs isn’t feasible though, given how many things can go wrong even when trying to fix one bug

    Oh... you will get them...

But just on your hard drive. And nowhere else.

  • Mightier Than the Sword? Seven Wild Pen Flinger Decks to Try Out

I've been playing a shaman control deck in wild with that combo and once you got it going, it just becomes a hand management simulator. Not neccessarily powerful but lots of fun.

    Where's the math tho?

  • Micro Mummy Bug in Battlegrounds Fixed via Small Client Update, Fixes for Freezing Trap

That's weird, I only asked about the soul fragment cos I knew that interrupted the discount but if it's happening without the fragments that definitely sounds like a bug

  • The Scourge of Azeroth

Yeah you're no longer reliant on having to play Emperor Thaurissan. Which makes the combo a lot faster and a ton easier to get done.

You usually win by turn 10 as long as the draws are decent. You really just need 2 zero mana spells if you hold Tour Guide a turn before actually doing the combo I've often times used 2 mana Solemn Vigil or Crystology to finish the combo.

Let's go CptnKitty & Theo! Very excited for this. Hoping to see a lot of cool decks, the meta is in a great state so it should be a very varied tournament with lots of different decks. I've been paying attention to a lot of tournaments the last few weeks and there are no four "best decks" like there were previous expansion. Even within classes there are tons of different options. Guardian and Malygos in Druid, Aggro and Secret in Rogue, Bomb and Enrage in Warrior, Highlander and Galakrond Dragon in Priest, Tempo and Highlander in Mage, Pure and Broom Libram in Paladin, Aggro and Soul in DH, Face and Highlander in Hunter, etc. I wonder which line-up will win.

  • Micro Mummy Has Been Removed From Battlegrounds Again Due to Mobile Issues

I think there's a marked difference between obscure bugs that didn't show up during testing, and those that should have been found and never been in the shipped update (client or server).

Some ultra niche obscure bugs that are only found by memers playing very creative janky decks for fun, I think fair enough.  But obvious bugs that prevent a brawl being completed (as has happened in the past) that should easily have been found are less understandable.

I don't necessarily blame the development or Q&A teams if they weren't given proper time and resources by management to do the job properly.  But there has been a significant decline in overall quality of what's released for over a year now.

Battleground bugs were to be expected at least in part as it was a new game mode that was outside the scope of the initial design scope.  I'm also inclined to be a bit more understanding due to the pandemic currently and the effect it's had on the internal working of Team 5.

Let's hope those in charge try to address these problems so once again bugs become rare and obscure.

That's kind of part of how bad test automation works.

  • Micro Mummy Has Been Removed From Battlegrounds Again Due to Mobile Issues

If they spent the time needed to ensure there wasn’t a single bug in the game, then we’d be lucky to receive another patch within the next few years

  • Micro Mummy Has Been Removed From Battlegrounds Again Due to Mobile Issues

I’d be amazed if you could find me a game that didn’t have any bugs in it that wasn’t as simple of a game as possible.

I’m not trying to say that it’s fine how it is, the fact that bugs pop up that negatively impact the player’s experience is a bad thing, but it’s almost an inevitability that it’s going to include some bugs. Pretending otherwise is just ignorant

  • Aurelion Sol - The Star Forger: Card breakdown

Lawls @ the above post. Really what the breakdown will be did he make more people quit playing than he made start playing.  You piss enough casuals off you get a game with no updates.
Still pellshield feels very strong making it a one turn buff would be massive adjustment.

  • Micro Mummy Has Been Removed From Battlegrounds Again Due to Mobile Issues

    *Blizzard patches bug*

Me: Oh nice it's fixed! Can't wait to use Micro Mummy!

Me, while playing battlegrounds: "Ooh 3 Micro Mummys! Good thing the bug is fixed, so now i can actually triple it without crashing! I'm pretty much guaranteed 2-3th right now, because i got blessed with good mechs and i have been on a 10 win streak so far!

    *gets golden Micro Mummy*

Hearthstone: "I'm about to end this mans whole carrier"

*Game crashes, and i can't get back in*

(But tbh why didn't they test to see if the bug is ACTUALLY fixed, just to make sure? Or did the bug like show up again AFTER the tests? That would be really strange. There are already minions with reborn in BG, so that can't be it... anyways weird that a 160 mb patch didn't fix it..)

  • Aurelion Sol - The Star Forger: Card breakdown

So do you guys propose to nerf Aurelion Sol for the more casual players? I mean it makes sense on the one hand to improve casual's game experience while skilled players would not really mind it but on the other hand... aurelion teaches  players how to properly play LoR and if you refuse to learn you might deserve to get stomped by a leveled up aurelion.

It the end Aurelion is not a fun concept but a fair concept and we should not complain too much about such concepts existing because they will from time to time come up. For now i would keep aurelion as he is and let the casuals learn their lesson ...

Once more, I hate that card’s dirty guts.

  • Aurelion Sol - The Star Forger: Card breakdown

    Quote From Hellcopter
    Quote From thazud

You seem to forget that Aurelion Sol is not always played on T10.

Freljord offers ramp and other decks pull him out with Thresh and keeps reviving him after that.

He can be played on t6-t10.

Taking your example, one could argue Tryndamere will do much more work then Aurelion Sol ever would because Aurelion doesn't have Overwhelm and also Tryndamere is much harder to remove.
And even if Aurelion Sol was cheated / played early, if he can level up before T10, then chances are you already lost the game anyway.

I am not implying that Aurelion Sol is broken or that it is a huge problem that you can cheat him out by t6-t10. I just wanted to point out it was missing in his analysis since he wrote: "Aurelion Sol is played on T10 and if his conditions are met, he levels up after THE END OF THE TURN. So best case possible, the player may only play Celestials cards for free on T11 forward. It usually finish games by T11-T12." and I thought that was wrong since the majority of the decks that use him try to play him earlier than that.

Edit: and don't underestimate how difficult a 10/10 with spellshield can be to deal with for some decks.

I mean.. it IS a mummy.

Makes sense for it to be cursed

  • Micro Mummy Has Been Removed From Battlegrounds Again Due to Mobile Issues

I can't even fathom it; seriously, what's so complicated about Micro Mummy? There are already Reborn Minions and buffing minions. They've added countless minions before. So what's happening now? Why can't a whopping 160 MB patch for a single minion fix it?

  • Branching Out - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

Wailor - Crew Cook is nice and I like the effect, but yeah, I agree that that it is not a good flavor fit for priest.  I don't know about Serpentine Fang. It benefits demon hunter a lot more than druid, which only has its hero power while demon hunter has plenty of weapons.  Demon hunter would also have a 3 mana Assassinate, and I don't know if taking face damage is enough of an additional cost.  I also like Feed the Swarm, but I have the feeling that some people might think that it might be too narrow a card to vote highly.

BasilAnguis - I like the first one the best, both art and name.  The light in the backgrounds of the other arts are distracting when looking at the card imo.

GoliathTheDwarf - I don't see how the effect fits in mage.  It feels more like a druid-only card rather than druid-mage card, as both effects fits well into what druid can do.

Pokeniner - Seems a little too strong in the early game and too weak in the late game. Early on, you're not going to play the drawn cards anyway so it becomes a 4 mana draw 3.  In the late game, the overload is too costly unless you hold the cards in your hand, which is too slow.

thepowrofcheese - A little boring for an epic, but the card is balanced and well designed.  It could work the way it is worded currently, but secrets are normally put on the battlefield from the deck, such as Glacial Mysteries, not cast from the deck.

  • Micro Mummy Has Been Removed From Battlegrounds Again Due to Mobile Issues

Yes "making a game". NOT "releasing a game, which costs actual money".

  • Libram Paladin (best version theorycraft)

Been using Funki Monki's build for my climb this season.

I swapped out Zephrys the Great for Shotbot. I never had a game where Zeph mattered.

And swapping in and out Lady Liadrin with a second Shotbot. The deck does not run Libram of Wisdoms, so Lady Liadrin seems very clunky.

I can't say for certain's it's place in the meta, but from personal experience, I do better against aggro decks but lost to control/value matchups. The deck sacrifices value for more consistency.

  • Blurphylactic

I’ve actually won with this deck a few times now, usually against Druids. I rarely get the killer combo right off the bat, but yeah, druids keep spending a lot of health to put down minions I can clear away cheaply, so I can stay in until I draw Blur and Skull or something like it

  • Micro Mummy Has Been Removed From Battlegrounds Again Due to Mobile Issues

well do you want patches every month or without bugs? You can't have both...
