  • They really should add an indication on hand buffs

Yeah, I've found this to be particularly annoying with Stalking Shadows, where the only visual indicator that one of the two cards is Ephemeral is in the tooltip section on hover. Ideally they'd have some way to add the relevant keyword icon to the card in a way that indicates it's added (e.g. by giving it some kind of "aura" visual effect or something). (Maybe worth noting that this problem isn't unique to Ephemeral - it would also be nice for the same type of visuals for Ki Guardian, which grant Barrier.)

One of the odd potential challenges here is the interaction of any new visual element for added keywords with Fleeting. This is more a problem with Fleeting than any potential upgrade to added keywords - the visual effect covers the whole card and creates a wobbly distortion that could make any additional visual elements a mess.

  • The quite shocking "new player experience"

As someone who climbed on his main account high enough i thought it would be a good idea to create a new account in LoR and try some unranked to master within  14 days starting from no collection challenge  and what did i experience? Players in iron 4 ALREADY play 80% streamer decks in ranked.

While i still do fine with the spider starter deck I can only imagine how actually new players got to feel when they come to runeterra and run into the same netdecks over and over that they don't stand a cahnce against if they are as clueless as their opponent.

I expected a lot of the starter decks, being played or some suboptimal jank that actual new players come around with. But 80% uninspired copypaste from "pros"? That is really shocking to me and it makes me really sad to see.

  • They really should add an indication on hand buffs

It's now only on ephemeral but they really should add some way to distinguish an ephemeral card in hand..

  • Group Therapy! Need to blow off some steam? Mega salty? Here's the place!

Thank the lord for Battlegrounds, if not Hearthstone would be such a dead game.

Seriously, I’m glad that the team kind of(?) remembers Arena exists, and I am hoping for serious overhauls soon because right now this is just NOT IT chief. Its literally just Priests and Mages as the only viable classes which can generate shit right out of their asses while the other classes pray that they get picked for once. Like the diversity in matches is just absolute trash, its all mages and priests then at 2 losses you see a rare Paladin appear with like 5 blessings of a’dal and still get absolutely stomped by 1 mind control.

  • TheoryNerf - 3 Cards With Numbers Changed To 3

    Quote From KingMicahhh
    Quote From dapperdog

I've been trying my way up the ladder with out of meta decks and I still don't find anything wrong with the cards you listed for nerfs.

Voracious Reader is hardly a problem. Its been a while since I saw someone play this for a draw more than 1, a testament to how difficult it is to get value out of this card, especially in the early game.

Secret Passage is probably the most deserving in your list, but even then it doesn't really seem like a problem card. The real problem at the moment is how rogue abuses the many stealth minions they have, and the lack of a good healing card in standard right now. That's why most hunter decks just bulldozes aggro rogue with Explosive Trap. I like how secret passage allows rogue to play stuff that until now never saw the light of day, and if nerfing it means its all back to galakrond rogue, then I'm okay with secret passage staying unnerfed until the next expansion.

And finally Libram of Wisdom. Despite what you read in hsreplay or other stats, paladin is neither oppressive or hard to counter. If anything, its the most fair of all the classes, and any nerf to its core cards will instantly relegate paladin to unplayable for yet another expansion. On the discussion of whether libram of wisdom is broken? The real question would be would you keep this in your mulligan if you don't get to play Aldor Attendant on 1? The answer is no, and that is why it remains fair at 2 mana.

Most people use secret passage to find lethal thats why people don't like it the ability to easily find lethal. Basically zephrys in aggro rogue

Nope. Zephrys offers you versatile tools for diverse situations. Aggro Rogues have little to none of that in their decks.

More like Leeroy Jenkins back in Aggro Rogue - which is honestly perfectly fitting an Aggro deck.

Aggro Rogue can be dealt with in different ways: out-Aggro, Taunt/Tempo, Armor/Heal, cheap board clears (or a mix of these). Ofc it takes people to adjust their decks instead of netdecking stuff that is already obsolete the moment it is popular.

But apparently it's easier to complain of "1-munah-drhuw-5!!!11!1!" without even stopping to think...

As if we had never faced Aggro in the meta before btw.

  • So who thought that a region being generally good at card advantage was a good idea?

First: cards that replace themselves are already in the game from day one. You need to be more specific and name said cards for any productive discussion.

    Second
: Targon has 0 CARD DRAW SPELLS. I have no idea what your card advantage notion even is. The best Targon can do is cycle and stay even outside of generating Gem cards. So i think giving Targon a different mechanic like generate/replace/multiple casts instead of the standard "Draw 2" spell is a nice idea for region identity.

    Third
: Taric would take Ezreal over Karma any day.

  • Trundle/Sol - is this normal?

It's just that his Leveled up form had Tough before. It made him kind of annoying to deal with but other than the nerf wasn't too impactful on how he was played. It just made him weaker in general and now he's one of the weakest Champions in the game.

  • Does Silence retroactively remove Daybreak buffs?

Silence removes ALL TEXT (Any buffs/Keywords/Ephemeral/etc) with the exception of Spellshield.

In the case of Sunburst, The silence happens first (so a unit with extra health loses all buffs) then damage happens after.
In other words, any unit with a base health of 6 or less will die to that spell AS LONG its the first card played on that turn AND the target unit doesn't have Spellshield.

  • Card Design Conversation - Back To School

Really glad to see custom comps come back.  I was worried that there wouldn't be anymore for a while.

My guess for the theme is to design a 1-drop.  You've got to start small on your first day!  Plus the minions of the banner are all 1-drops (that can't be a coincidence, right)?  Also, what does playing First Day of School give you?

  • Card Design Conversation - Back To School

That's a neat, better rewording of it. I thought it worked like Unleash the Hounds until I read your message, hah.

The idea is great though, aye! Not sold on Dormant being in the Classic set, but interesting idea in line with Paladin's flavor (though everything is, somehow :|).

  • Card Design Conversation - Back To School

Jaded Student (holding a loose-leaf textbook from Pearson), 4 mana 2-4, "Slip and fall on your college's non-ADA compliant stairways. Take 3 damage. Deal 3 damage to all over minions."

  • Reminder: Last Chance to Get the Felosophy Bundle With 2 Scholomance Legendaries!

forgot what I got when I opened the bundle. But I was happy, that's what mattered

  • JustATaco's Odd Taunt Druid

I'm completely trashing raza priest in low legend eu, so awesome, thanks!

  • Card Design Conversation - Back To School

That Imprisonment card is really cool, it reminds me of Conclave Tribunal from MtG. However, I think it should be reworded to something like "Choose a minion. It goes Dormant until you control no minions". Although it doesn't read as nicely, I think this makes it more consistent compared to cards like Maiev Shadowsong and clarifies the effect. I feel like it could be a little oppressive if Paladin ever gets a solid aggro/token deck that can churn out dudes fast enough, but I really like the idea.

  • Devout Pupil is a New Paladin & Priest Card Revealed for Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Expansion

Really good in my buff Priest.

  • Devout Pupil is a New Paladin & Priest Card Revealed for Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Expansion

    How is this expensive??

  • Does Silence retroactively remove Daybreak buffs?

Are you talking about Sunburst? Read the full text of the spell and that should explain it (hint: Sunburst Silences the unit before it damages it)

  • Trundle/Sol - is this normal?

What used to be Tryndamere's stats?

  • Celestials - Is It Too Strong?

I think the mechanic is pretty strong. considering that's all you see in expeditions. And if you do play expedition and decide not to go with Targon. You will get buried under their card advantage. There is no way for a deck to constantly get 2 for 1'd and win.

Even winning with Targon in expedition is not fun. It comes down to who got luckier in the mirror. And the fact that you can get a body that gives you a spell that creates a 2 for 1 is pretty stupid to me.

I can't see any reason not to use region in either limited or constructed right now. Card advantage wins games. Targon gives CA. Play it.

  • Card Design Conversation - Back To School

    Scholomance/school theming? I dig it...

  • So who thought that a region being generally good at card advantage was a good idea?

I mean. I'm not the game designer. And I have nothing against control decks. I like playing them.

But has anyone considered that giving control  blockers that replace themselves could be problematic? I would have expected a few of them either would have 0 power, or couldn't block. But getting chumps that can potentially kill on block, and also replace themselves with a good spell is a bit much.

When I looked at the Targon cards. All I saw was a boost to control. I did see the synergy with Noxus, but those decks will be easier to deal with than the control ones. The 4/5 is a pretty good roadblock for something that gives you a card.

And if I ever See a Taric next to a karma. I'll probably just concede.

  • Card Design Conversation - Back To School

Maybe competition is "make a card with textbook on its art"

  • Does Silence retroactively remove Daybreak buffs?

I'm assuming that would be why an 8 defense guy would die to 6 damage.

But it's very counter intuitive since daybreak is not a static ability.

(Also, is there a way I can see celestial cards in cards menu?)

  • Trundle/Sol - is this normal?

I think it’s an issue with the new sets system that they are implementing. Initially I liked the idea of sets to spread out content more, but the fact that some regions won’t have a significant amount of new cards for up to 4 more months (or around 8 months if you count from when Rising Tides was released) makes me much less of a fan. I wish that they had distributed the release of cards a bit more evenly, even if that means giving champions a little less support in the expansion that releases them. I think a minimum of 4 new cards per each region per expansion would be good.

  • Cosmic inspiration too strong

What I dislike about Cosmic Inspiration is how it shuts down the ability for the opponent to every really attack into you, since whoever plays Cosmic Inspiration just has an an almost always unkillable board. The change I’d like is to make it grant +2|+0 so that Cosmic Inspiration doesn’t make your board more durable. This would keep the synergy with ASol’s level up and most Celestial units, but would make the strategy more fragile to high power enemy boards.
