  • They really should add an indication on hand buffs

I had always assumed that the cards would have a purple border. Until I actually had one and had to check to see which was which. I almost discarded the  non-ephemeral one.

  • How can I see celestial cards in the deckbuilder?

    Topic.

  • Does Silence retroactively remove Daybreak buffs?

    K. I was under the impression that silence only removed text, and not attack / defense buff.

  • So who thought that a region being generally good at card advantage was a good idea?

    Quote From Hellcopter

Second: Targon has 0 CARD DRAW SPELLS. I have no idea what your card advantage notion even is. The best Targon can do is cycle and stay even outside of generating Gem cards. So i think giving Targon a different mechanic like generate/replace/multiple casts instead of the standard "Draw 2" spell is a nice idea for region identity.

I play a a 1/3 blocker, that gives me a card that grants me a 4/3 life leech and a 4/3 elusive. How is that not card advantage?

  • Celestials - Is It Too Strong?

    Quote From Phaseshifter

I think the mechanic is pretty strong. considering that's all you see in expeditions. And if you do play expedition and decide not to go with Targon. You will get buried under their card advantage. There is no way for a deck to constantly get 2 for 1'd and win.

Even winning with Targon in expedition is not fun. It comes down to who got luckier in the mirror. And the fact that you can get a body that gives you a spell that creates a 2 for 1 is pretty stupid to me.

I can't see any reason not to use region in either limited or constructed right now. Card advantage wins games. Targon gives CA. Play it.

In expeditions is where targon will be most op since cards that generate additional stuff are very valuable when you are forced to pick from random cards.

  • The quite shocking "new player experience"

    Quote From TheTriferianGeneral

As someone who climbed on his main account high enough i thought it would be a good idea to create a new account in LoR and try some unranked to master within  14 days starting from no collection challenge  and what did i experience? Players in iron 4 ALREADY play 80% streamer decks in ranked.

While i still do fine with the spider starter deck I can only imagine how actually new players got to feel when they come to runeterra and run into the same netdecks over and over that they don't stand a cahnce against if they are as clueless as their opponent.

I expected a lot of the starter decks, being played or some suboptimal jank that actual new players come around with. But 80% uninspired copypaste from "pros"? That is really shocking to me and it makes me really sad to see.

Like Sinti said you can craft a meta deck pretty fast thanks to the region rewards, also people who don't have meta decks and are actually new players will have a hard time going up the ladder so maybe lab or expeditions are more appealing to them.

  • Cosmic inspiration too strong

    Quote From CursedParrot

What I dislike about Cosmic Inspiration is how it shuts down the ability for the opponent to every really attack into you, since whoever plays Cosmic Inspiration just has an an almost always unkillable board. The change I’d like is to make it grant +2|+0 so that Cosmic Inspiration doesn’t make your board more durable. This would keep the synergy with ASol’s level up and most Celestial units, but would make the strategy more fragile to high power enemy boards.

I don't really like cutting the hp from it since I like the idea of having a card that makes your celestials bigger everytime you play it.  And I think the  main problem with this card is when it buffs non celestial minions since that is what you will usually have on the board if you play it early on.

  • First Free To Play Opens - New Set

Yeah, my testing with it has shown that it's pretty strong, so it's no surprise that it slots into the old Ezreal Karma lists that were popular before the expansion. I'll give this list a shot as well.

Edit - It's fine gets you lot's of raw card advantage so you can eventually go off with your double pew pew's. It's not a deck I particularly enjoy playing but it's really good at those long grindy games.

Edit 2 - It's bad against anything that isn't targon, like TF Swain absolutely destroys it with it's higher tempo

  • 8 Off-Meta Scholomance Decks for your Wildest Hearthstone Dreams - Part 2

With Tunnel Trogg and worse Tunnel Trogg as opening units

    Lmao

  • Deck builder dust cost doesn't add up

It looks like the rolling dust cost, as you build decks, only counts a single copy. You hit save, the dust cost rises dramatically.

I mean. I'm not the game designer. And I have nothing against control decks. I like playing them.

But has anyone considered that giving control  blockers that replace themselves could be problematic? I would have expected a few of them either would have 0 power, or couldn't block. But getting chumps that can potentially kill on block, and also replace themselves with a good spell is a bit much.

When I looked at the Targon cards. All I saw was a boost to control. I did see the synergy with Noxus, but those decks will be easier to deal with than the control ones. The 4/5 is a pretty good roadblock for something that gives you a card.

And if I ever See a Taric next to a karma. I'll probably just concede.

Well, it's as stupid as it looks. The whole expansion is a joke. Dilettante and amateurish design. A nonsense. ...Intended for numerous clueless casual mobile players.

I don't really disagree with the idea that the design of Call of the Mountain is amateurish (which, as it happens, means exactly the same thing as the adjective form of "dilettante"), but I do take issue with your characterizing it as "for clueless casual mobile players." Nothing about truly bad design supports any group of players - mobile, casual, or pro - and hating on casual players doesn't really help anyone. If you have one or more critiques of the design, please share them. But hating on a player group and calling the expansion "stupid" isn't a very productive way to engage in a discussion.

  • They really should add an indication on hand buffs

    Quote From meisterz39

Yeah, I've found this to be particularly annoying with Stalking Shadows, where the only visual indicator that one of the two cards is Ephemeral is in the tooltip section on hover. Ideally they'd have some way to add the relevant keyword icon to the card in a way that indicates it's added (e.g. by giving it some kind of "aura" visual effect or something). (Maybe worth noting that this problem isn't unique to Ephemeral - it would also be nice for the same type of visuals for Ki Guardian, which grant Barrier.)

One of the odd potential challenges here is the interaction of any new visual element for added keywords with Fleeting. This is more a problem with Fleeting than any potential upgrade to added keywords - the visual effect covers the whole card and creates a wobbly distortion that could make any additional visual elements a mess.

OH yeah ki guardian as well I can't count the times I played a barrier unit not on time cause I forgot I used the card several turns ago..

I mean, if any class would have a "Go to Jail" card, it would be Paladin.

  • The quite shocking "new player experience"

Also LOR being quite generous with the reward system, it is not hard to quickly amass cards to make a least one meta deck quickly.

  • Card Design Conversation - Back To School

    Excited for this!

  • The quite shocking "new player experience"

Well as someone who never plays Ranked, I can definitely assure you that not every Iron player is a new player. Just because a player is an Iron does not mean they are not a good player, of course, it also doesn't mean that they aren't a bad player either. I've just never taken a liking to playing Ranked because there wasn't really a good incentive to do so. Ranking up doesn't do much except just giving you an icon or the sense of achievement from ranking up.

If I want to fight "better" opponents, then I can also just play Normal because I occasionally fight Master players there with tier 1 or tier 2 decks. There isn't really a huge difference and I would argue that most Iron players in LoR aren't actually Iron but more around Gold semi-casual players.
