  • Spacey Sketcher

The cheap invokes are all going to be very good for an aggro/tempo deck, and there are ways to get value out of discard, so I expect to see a decent amount of play from Spacey Sketcher.

  • nightfall

    good idea thanks!

  • Celestial Card Appearance Rates are Weighted - High Cost Cards Less Frequent

This seems pretty unintuitive. And I know I'm kind of a broken record here, but this feels like a way to push off balancing these cards until after the content is released. Dropping 24 super powerful, non-collectible cards that only one region gets to access is a balance risk from the start, and this feels like the most confusing way to tamp down on that risk.

  • New Targon Card - Solari Priestess

Now that we know what the cards are and that Invoke is weighted instead of true random, Solari Priestess really puts Lunari Priestess to shame in terms of overall value. All of the Celestial cards you can get are really solid, but I'm most interested in getting Written in Stars from this effect. You've got decent odds of getting it when you play her, making this a good way to tutor out your champion/win condition.

Obviously the Daybreak is something of a limitation here, and this might not see play in a dedicated Daybreak Leona deck (since that seems more tempo oriented, and this feels like a value generator for Aurelion Sol), but this definitely seems like one of the most powerful Invoke cards thanks to the cost restriction, particularly given that they've said the effect is weighted toward cheaper cards and toward units.

  • Dragoon Custom Class

Sorry for not much update, people, I've been busy looking for internships and doing college stuff, is exhausting lol.

So without further ado, I will now reveal ALL the cards in this set. This set will focus a lot on three things (depending on class/dual combos): Buffs (Paladin/Dragoon), Weapon (Dragoon), and Dragons! (Dragoon/Warrior, which is especially important since for a Dragon class they severely lack a decent amount of Dragon synergies).

  • Arena rewards need to change

    Quote From PopeNeia

One thing I would like is that CARDS are removed from the early arena rewards. It sucks when you get a bad run and instead of Gold, you are treated with some garbage rare cardwhich you didn’t need.

I second this. And while we're on it, please for the love of god blizz, remove those nasty odd 5 gold/dust rewards. If ever there was a way to thumb up other people's butt it would be to grant them a reward they can neither use nor remove.

  • Arena rewards need to change

To be honest, arena rewards are currently still okay, assuming you'd put the work in. Like yourself, I've grinded arena in my early days cause' I have literally no cards or dust to build even a decent aggro deck to go into ranked (I got my first month-end card back around 8 months from my start date. To put things in perspective, all you needed to do then was to reach rank 25).

A simplification of the details; you pay 150 gold, and you get 1 pack no matter what + a random reward of either dust or gold. The rewards scale with the number of wins, and the common ideal is to reach 7 wins, whereupon you get your gold back guaranteed. But this is only half the picture. To get the ticket's worth in gold, the actual number of wins required is 2 (for a chance of 40-50 gold) to 4 (where you are guaranteed 50 gold).

So all that is required to basically get 50 gold + a pack is actually 2-4 wins, very achievable. 3 wins is basically a gold standard in many cases. I won't discuss any higher than that, since most players don't get past 3 wins anyway.

But to go back to your proposal, its just broken. 50 gold to start, and only 1 win is all that is required to get value, 3 wins to get your gold back AND a pack. Let's be honest. If this was the structure back then I would be swimming in gold right now. Arena is grindy, and it should be grindy because the rewards it gives out for those who grind it is always better than it would be if you were grinding up gold via quests.

I left arena once I had a few decks to play with and never looked back. The reason is simple. Arena is only fun for only a small portion of players (and I mean really small). The vast majority of us (who play it at all) grind it for gold. If the idea is to make arena fun, its simple enough to remove all the rewards and allow players to go for it without charge. Hell, I'd play arena every now and then if I can go for it without charge, even without the rewards.

  • TARIC-LULU ELUSIVE SUPPORT

Pix, the 0/1? That's one of the worst cards from Targon.

  • TARIC-LULU ELUSIVE SUPPORT

I think Pix is a pretty weak card- 0 attack 1 health means he dies to any unit for free and the temporary stats on his support won't do much for elusive units. I think having a permanent buff from Tyari is a bit better for snowballing your elusives, especially Duo, but I do think he could be switched for something, I'm not sure what though.

  • New Targon Card - Solari Priestess

The Chad sun priestess, the virgin Lunari priestess. Absolutely nuts. 9/10

  • New Demacia Card - Screeching Dragon

Very solid card, i doubt well see a Dragon synergy just yet, but when Shyvanna drops this will see a lot of play for sure, 8/10

  • Hearthstone Grandmasters 2020 Season 2 - Week 2 Results, Decklists, and More!

TBH quite surprised RDU is doing so well for, a now, BG streamer.

  • Arena rewards need to change

I would love these changes a lot, but Blizz would probably never do this because well... Blizz wants people to buy packs.

One thing I would like is that CARDS are removed from the early arena rewards. It sucks when you get a bad run and instead of Gold, you are treated with some garbage rare cardwhich you didn’t need.

  • New Targon Spell - Messenger's Sigil

Combining this with TF and the rest of the Targon draw cards seems good. And Targon gems also synergize with Pick a Card and Brash Gambler!

  • Hearthstone Hotfixes - Ysera, Unleashed Can No Longer Summon Nozdormu

Nooo! I always LOVED to see Nozdormu popping on either side of the board. Not to say turns in constructed are too long but...

  • Aurelion Sol is the Newest Legends of Runeterra Targon Champion Coming in Call of the Mountain (6 New Cards Revealed!)

    Wow. Flashy. But too slow?

I don't care; an Aurelion Sol/Celestial deck might be my first craft.

  • Out of Cards Adds a Legends of Runeterra Collection Manager - Find Decks to Play Easier!

This is a great feature, way to go.

Of course, unlike with Hearthstone, I actually feel like I don't NEED this. I currently have three copies of every card except Shen. It'll happen, but I'm just holding on to my wildcards for Call of the Mountain. (In other words, I know I can make any deck on the site. Big thanks of course to Riot, for being very F2P friendly.)

  • Aurelion Sol is the Newest Legends of Runeterra Targon Champion Coming in Call of the Mountain (6 New Cards Revealed!)

    I mean… you could.

Nautilus would shuffle the expensive ones back into the deck. 3:)

  • 24 Hours of Card Reveals for Legends of Runeterra - The Celestial Cards for the Invoke Mechanic

The Great Beyond has +2 power over The Immortal Fire, only costs 1 more, and has spellshield. Given that both are elusive, they are almost certainly not dying to battle damage. That means they will die to spells. Given this fact, Spellshield is identical to being reborn when killed - in both cases, it requires 2 spells to get the job done.

Verdict - The Great Beyond is better than The Immortal Fire.

Edit - If we account for Obliterate, The Great Beyond gets yet another point in its favor - The Immortal Fire will not reincarnate if Obliterated, but Spellshield will block Obliterate.

Great work, thanks for your dedication! I'll use the opportunity to request a quality of life feature. I really like the concept of the portals. Would it be possible to expand this feature to the point where users could permanently choose one of them in account management?

It's a very interesting point of discussion. The original idea is we were going to let everyone decide what they would see on the homepage as far as the news went. Over time though, I no longer thought that was the best solution and instead provided the portals that we now have. The way I've seen it, having the portals be dedicated places gives people a more tailored experience for each title and they have more benefits by visiting them individually if you so choose. It is easy for people to update their browser bookmark for the site so they can visit the portal over the homepage.

Allowing for a swap-out also sucks because if someone happens to follow two games instead of one, they wouldn't have a special homepage option available to them.

Now, some of that is a bit dated though and I'll explain why!

We've got a feature dropping either late tonight or tomorrow which brings back decks to the homepage. Our first iteration of this was exactly what we see on the Hearthstone portal, but it was silly to have Hearthstone decks be the only thing featured on the homepage. The new widget has some customization to it which will allow you to select a default game and even a default sort so that you will always see what you want when loading up the homepage. A good example of this would be for Wild Hearthstone players. If you want to only see Wild Hearthstone decks on the homepage when you visit, this will be exactly what you're going to see. You'll also always have the ability to view the other stuff by using the available sorts, but your default preference will be saved.

This might get extended to news posts.

The decks part of it wasn't very complicated to figure out and make performant. With news being simpler than decks, the ability to customize which games get displayed on the homepage news feed for any one person isn't a difficult extension. I do dislike that you lose some potential overlap. Maybe one day Riot makes a really cool Runeterra announcement that could entice a player that is only interested in Hearthstone, but has been having a negative time recently, but it won't be able to because they decided they only wanted to see Hearthstone news. One workaround I had considered for this problem is we'll inject major announcements (flagging articles them as such) into the homepage feed no matter what, but this would only be confusing to people.

I see pros and cons on both sides of it. Ultimately though, I do think leaving the choice in the hands of everyone is a good idea. You're all smart enough to decide what you want to see and on the very tiny chance you visit the homepage and don't get to see that Wizards is giving everyone a bunch of free stuff because you only want to see Hearthstone content, that was that person's choice to make.

No ETA on news on the homepage changes, but decks are arriving very soon.

  • Hey Bliz, you forgot about Mugurgle.

The prime version is not actually the same card so it can actually summon it's none prime version..

The hotfix was wide across all cards not specifically applied so..

  • Hey Bliz, you forgot about Mugurgle.

    Quote From Madaf

So jandice might summon two jandices. Sad.

No Jandice shouldn’t be able to summon herself, it’s just that with Murgur it’s the prime summoning the base copy, so it’s technically two different cards.

I personally don’t really agree with that decision, but it falls under the rules they set for it so it’s fine

  • The Arena Will Keep Separate Rewards From Hearthstone's Battle Pass

So Arena is not going away?... Ufff! The way things haven't changed there for ages, I was fearful of that!...

  • Celestial Card Appearance Rates are Weighted - High Cost Cards Less Frequent

I would want them to be open about the numbers but I couldn't care less whether or not they explicitly state that it is weighted in the keyword as most card games have a similar mechanic that isn't explicitly stated
