Kaladin: The key to win at Expedition is to draft cards around the champions you chose, then mulligan VERY AGRESSIVELY to find those champions in the starting hand
Wild Pyromancer not class specific but neutral, so that 1 damage symmetrical isn't unique effect for any class that wants it... only equality effect so far was unique to paladin and now suddenly warrior gets it.
I'm really liking the look of this new Soul Shard system myself. Adding a possible early-game board clear to DH is a good idea to help it branch out more.
This is pretty amazing, honestly. It's like mixing Equality or Libram of Justice with [Hearthstone Card (Pyromancer) Not Found], but not having to worry about a combo, and even being able to possible use it multiple times as a deathrattle.
This was not the minion I was expecting for Paladin and Warrior.
Both classes have historically enjoyed having their opponent's minions at 1 health so they can clear their board with spells like whirlwind or consecration.
Lord Barov's Deathrattle serves to help clear the board too, although he will potentially clear your board as well.
Warrior has the easiest time to activate it's death rattle on their turn, with risky skipper being a very popular minion since AoO made pirates popular, along with Sword and Board which is a 1 mana spell that deals a modest 2 damage, and slam can also be used to kill Lord Barov. If a minions' board is cleared before Barov's Deathrattle is activated, you could set up your own board with Armorsmith to gain armor and then use Battlerage to fill you hand.
For Paladin this minion has a clear synergy with their Silver hand recruit tokens, allowing the tiny 1/1 minions to trade into your opponents larger threats, or even setting up a consecration play (equality and consecration used to see play, but I believe Equality got nerfed which killed that combo). I'm not certain how a paladin would intentionally activate Barov's effect or if there's any synergy they have with this effect, either, though.
Really good card, but one I don't think either class really wanted. I honestly think the legendary should have been another "If your deck has only class cards" (Pure) effect because most warrior lists actually run 25-30 class cards to begin with!
I think making another Pure card would top off the Paladin package and also give warrior a new tool to experiment with. Most enrage warrior lists run 30 class cards already as we speak.
4/5 Card, but a missed opportunity in my books...
Could be a neat idea, but making a card that rewards what you're already doing is far less interesting than one that forces you to make a deck building trade-off.
If you're already running all class cards, ok, I'll just add this card in and get whatever effect it's giving (likely relatively weak effect if you're not having to make trade-offs).
On the other hand, if you really want 10 or 15 neutral cards, but here comes a card (or two) that are rewarding you for going a different route... now comes creativity time! And the devs can afford to make the effect more powerful.
Would you still need Ysiel Windsinger if you have this card? The combo would prob work better without Ysiel, but I'm sure there would be some insane overkill damage if you order these plays correctly with Malygos + damage spells.
Hope combo druid is back, miss that archetype since togwaggle druid
Lord Barov looks powerful, but I think with a little context he doesn't appear as good as his face value.
First, the deathrattle for Lord Barov needs to be triggered the turn you play him if you want to clear the board that turn, which I imagine will be most scenarios as is the nature of board clears. This means you need another card alongside Lord Barov to kill him like Teron Gorefiend or Rocket Augmerchant or that new broom card. The issue with this is that this is a 2 card combo with the core card being a one-of in the deck, which makes your activator(s) dead in hand until you draw Lord Barov,.
Second, for Paladin, theEquality effect has historically seen play in control and combo Paly decks, where you aren't playing for board. Paladin right now, and standard Hearthstone for that matter, is mostly about playing for board. Libram Paladin would rather run Libram of Justice as it doesn't ruin their board like Lord Barov does. Also, there just isn't enough support for a control or combo Paladin in standard right now.
Third, for Warrior, I actually think its possible for Lord Barov to see play in Warrior as they have self-damage enabling effects and have run enabler cards like Teron Gorefiend quite successfully in Ashes of Outland. Still, Lord Barov is awkward with Inner Rage, Rampage, and Bloodsworn Mercenary and could be a dead card in hand if any of these cards are also in hand.
Overall, I think Lord Barov is more situational than he looks. If control or combo for either class gets support, than his inclusion in either class would make more sense.
This is the peak of what win more cards look for Paladin. A very cheap beatstick slapped in the board while the other minions you have deal with your opponents' minions. The moment Paladin gets strong tempo swings is the moment they get back on top of Hearthstone.
Is this secretly a buff for the primes? When they realised they had made a mistake that you have to draw them again. Is this the lady vasj tech we needed...?
Seems good enough to run in anything token or small minion-based, but not an especially exciting card. If nothing else, at least it provides with some pretty cute art.
So, the Warrior legendary cards are: Equality on a stick, Reverse Gruul and arguably slightly better Captain Greenskin. Not very excited about Warrior cards from this expansion.
While not on Flamewaker levels of annoyance, this is an example of a curve with insane reach a possibly face damage pressure. Tempo mage could reemerge thanks to this guy and, for example, Mozaki, Master Duelist as high end on the deck.
Hunter is in a weird situation here. This guy provides amazing reach to your low damage spells, allowing Hunter to bypass their "weakness" dealing with big minions. But the deck that would abuse this effect is a deck that historically ignored big minions anyway. So, I guess this might be slapped in Face Hunter just because it can use its effect? I don't expect the decks' winrate to skyrocket because of it, but it can increase slightly because you killed the odd Taunt minion allowing you to push extra face damage.
On highlander or midrange, since they combat the board mostly on minion combat, this card will most likely shine less. That being said, it is still a very powerful and design restricting effect. Toxmonger actually allowed cards like Elven Archer to become a threat in the original Quest Hunter, driving the deck almost to tier 2 status in decks highest point, iirc.
I like expeditions, but they are a bit to expensive to play.

Which other symmetrical 1 damage effect does Paladin have? Consecrate is asymmetrical (and goes face). What am I missing?

Awesome card for Warrior. Instant Golden.
I expected nonsense from Paladin's support for Warrior, but this is nice!
The story of Fluffy the student
Throughout the Scholomance Academy Cinematic trailer there is actually a clearly defined student that you see throughout the whole trailer
First he gets drenched in the wave scene (and is clearly on the ground right before that)
Next he makes a hairy mustache spell and mocks another student.
Then he mentions "Corpses" in the academy yard and gets a sheep head
Later we seen him cheering on a Demon Hunter student only to get pulled down into a dark room, and probably got his soul stolen.
Also he is in a bubble in the thumbnail.
