  • Blizzard's Celestalon Talks Demon Hunter, Scholomance Academy, and New Classes in Hearthstone

    Quote From clawz161
Another thing pointing to Demon Hunter being based around being a straight out aggro style class since development.

that's not completely true. The devs said that DH was designed as a class that constantly pressures you, but quickly runs out of rescources later in the game due the lack of card generation. But the class can achive that in more ways than just aggro.

Big DH for example can pressure you early by cheating out big deamons starting on turn 5. Some of the alternative HP also supported that slower playstyle like "2 mana deal 2 damage to a minion and your hero"(removed because it was to frustrating to play against) and "2 mana gain +1 attack, can be used twice each turn"(removed because most of the time it was just a worse druid HP)

  • Speaker Gidra is a New Druid & Shaman Legendary Card Revealed for Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Expansion

Or, keep ramping to 7 and play Mountseller and five 0 cost spells.

If you've seen my comments about any druid card, you may have noticed a trend. They are pretty good and some are insane, but 30+ damage on turn 6 it a hard bar to pass, and it happens more often that seems plausible

  • New Hunter Minion - Professor Slate

Well, this card certaintly helps a Vereesa Windrunner combo deck.

Professor Slate doesn't specify damage dealing spells so I wonder if summon spells like Unleash the hounds would come with poisonous.

  • Headmaster Kel'Thuzad

That is assuming Headmaster Kel'Thuzad is the victor in the brawl, which is a huge gamble. D:

  • Brain Freeze is a New Mage & Rogue Card Revealed for Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Expansion

Easy to Combo, feels a bit OP.

    VERY fun art. Nice job.

  • Argent Braggart is a New Paladin Card Revealed for Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Expansion

The thing is, most minions you'd want to copy with it just trade with it, or, providing you play it from behind, just go to your face.

Also, Argent <insert noun here>... Really expected this to have divine shield (even if at 2 mana and even 3 it'd be OP)

  • New Paladin Minion - Argent Braggart

I mean, it's basically a 2-mana 8/8 if you play it alongside Libram of Hope. That seems pretty good?

  • Runic Carvings

I love how the druid/shaman cards look. I wonder if the golden versions look as good.

Also, this will be the first card that becomes worse with the druid quest completion.

  • New Neutral Minion - Keymaster Alabaster

7 mana, 6/8 isn't bad stats for cost -  Archmage Antonidas costs the same but is a 5/7.

It's effect is very powerful and could possibly snowball if left alone - knowing what your opponent drew is a huge advantage, and having that card but CHEAPER than your opponent is even better.

I don't think there's any means for a player to make your opponent draw cards in standard outside of Glide, which would require you to hit that AND this minon with Skull of Gul'Dan to use on the same turn, but we also haven't seen the rest of this set yet, who knows if there's any more draw cards in store.

In wild cards that force your opponent to draw are quite more popular - Coldlight Oracles, Research Project and naturalize are cheap ways to get your opponent to draw cards and have them cheaper than they.

  • New Hunter Minion - Professor Slate

I am kind of skeptical of this one. Giving all of your spells poisonous is pretty huge, but I just feel like he is kind of situational. You have to have him, a spell that deals damage, and a minion that you want to kill that you wouldn't be able to kill otherwise. And then he only has 4 health and a big bullseye on his forehead, so he won't survive until next turn.

I am not saying that the effect isn't good, I am just a bit skeptical about how much he will actually be played.

  • Potion of Illusion

With it being an epic card, you can have two in your deck. OTK Mage is going to be a thing again.

  • Ace Hunter Kreen

This will fit nicely in most Reno hunter lists since they already want to value trade in the early game.

  • New Neutral Minion - Educated Elekk

With Potion of Illusion as long as your opponent doesn't silence/steal this card you are immune to fatigue and get infinite value from the other copied cards

  • Educated Elekk

Flavor win, he has the memory of.. an elekk? Maybe this will make Lady Vashj a playable card.

  • Headmaster Kel'Thuzad

This could replace N'Zoth in DMH warrior since it's so bonkers with Brawl.

  • New Mage & Rogue Spell - Brain Freeze

    This card is pretty good!

Invocation of Frost has seen tons of play before and after it's nerf. Granted, it could freeze enemy minions AND players.

This card can only target minions, but it's cost is flexible enough to be used in tempo and miracle playlists. You probably won't care too much about the combo damage, either, unless you're needing to remove an early game minion, the cheap freeze effect is the main draw of this card.

Ray of Frost has seen play in constructed since RoS, and while this card doesn't have the twinspell of Ray it can still be used to stall enemy minions like it's twinspell counterpart can.

  • New Neutral Minion - Educated Elekk

I play a lot of control decks and this to me is better in a burn mage deck. Where you run a lot of low cost spells, and normally when you play them they're gone and you use cyclone to get new random ones, but with this they're back in your deck. It's an extra fireball, frost bolt, or arcane missiles, with the new spell damage cards decks like this could be a definite thing, and they would need this kind of mechanic for more burn in their deck. Mages aren't going to wait until turn ten to play this and then flamestrike, warriors aren't going to wait until turn eight to play this with brawl.... it's just....really bad that way.

  • New Mage & Rogue Spell - Potion of Illusion

Excellent in theory, very hard to make good use of in reality. To slow and situational. Nevertheless, I like the idea and would like to experiment with it.

  • Totem Goliath

I can't wait to cast Totemic Reflection on this. Maybe odd shaman will be viable in wild.

  • New Mage & Rogue Spell - Potion of Illusion

    Quote From Bersak

This is just the right cost to prevent exodia mage from going off. Phew!
    Or have I missed something?

There gotta be a combo someday with this though!

nope, just need one coin and it's there, and guess what? you can generate the coin with Licensed Adventurer, you don't even need to run the terrible quest just run side quests.

  • Secret Passage

This is gonna be nuts in any aggro rogue deck, let it be pirates or odd rogue. Zoo warlocks already run Soularium to get some gas for the final push and with this, you can have two of them in your deck.

  • Brain Freeze is a New Mage & Rogue Card Revealed for Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Expansion

Add Discover and random to that and you wont make it past 3 mana

  • New Mage & Rogue Spell - Brain Freeze

This almost has to be more impactful to Rogue than to Mage, if only because it helps slower Rogue archetypes in a way that Mage doesn't really need. That said, this is still crazy powerful in a Cyclone Mage deck, as it's basically a cheaper Frostbolt in that context. It's probably also a key card for any Tempo/Secret Mage, as it can be paired on turn 2 with Sorcerer's Apprentice for a total of 4 mana's worth of value that makes it very easy to defend that Sorcerer's Apprentice and snowball a win.

  • Brain Freeze is a New Mage & Rogue Card Revealed for Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Expansion

Freeze shaman was a bad meme.

  • New Mage & Rogue Spell - Brain Freeze

Incredible card for Mana Cyclone decks, good card overall for other rogue decks.
