Treant totems is probably what you get after druid quest activates. Wonder what team5 will do when they eventually grace treants with an actual tribe tag
So from the trailer this card does not make duplicates of your deck, but helps you draw a substitute hand for a turn.
it's not as powerful as Myra's Unstable element since it doesn't thin your entire deck, but it could be used to find a quick solution for a problem on your opponents side of the board or possibly add additional threat on your side.
Galakrond decks may see some use for this card since it will help increase the chances of drawing the cards needed to invoke Galakrond, especially if it means you can go off with a fully invoked Galakron on turn 7.
Highlander MAY see this since it might be used to fish Zephyrs, Miracle can absolutely use this to find that clutch tool they need
It's cheap and flexible, I would be surprised if it doesn't find a home in a ladder deck
I don't see how Spell Druid would use it though. Glowfly Swarm is just better in every way and for Shaman it's very slow (although it combos with Vessina)
Does 8 damage for 3 with a big problem being the 2 overload the turn after.
For druid, I'm not really sure if this can make a fit, given that the overload will force you into a 5 mana turn 7, meaning you can't play Goru the Mightree on curve, and will likely also cause you to float 1 mana if you decide to play him the turn after. Token druid plays a snowbally game where defense is only relevant as long as you can keep your board up. So maybe this can make the cut? Its a very slim yes for me.
fk me, the card actually reads choose to summon 4 treant totems (whatever that means), OR do the same but overload for 2 to give them rush. Well that's makes this immeasurably worse off for druid. Aside from what I pointed out earlier, this card is just a small boost from Force of Nature, but comes 1 turn later. Not sure if I would put this in token druid to be honest.
As for shaman, its very nearly perfect. Unlike token druid, shaman does not have the pleasure of swarming the board every turn and is intrinsically more of a combo deck, so any defensive card is welcome even with the 2 overload. Plus, played on 6 does not prevent you from dropping Totem Goliath out on 7, so its still somewhat within the gameplan.
the wording is really confusing, i assume that's due to the translation.
Either way this seems fairly underwhelming.
I don't see why Druid would use this unless you're really despereate for yet another combo for Soul of the Forest.
Shaman can possibly get some decent value out of it thanks to Totemic Might and the other one, which would still be a 3-card combo for what is basically Zixor Prime....I'm not really sure I see the value in that.
Then again, it is a 5+ mana spell and that seems to be a theme here.
We've updated with a better translation - we believe that it summons "Treant Totems" (so Totems that count as Treants), and you can Choose to Overload: (2) and give them Rush.
Still awaiting official translation, but we think this is the right effect, if not the exact wording.
I think a 'Treant Totem' is a new thing in itself - and therefore counts either towards Treant rewards or Totem rewards. Summoning 4 totems is pretty good for Shaman - lots of ways to buff them now.
It seems both versions have rush otherwise it would be kinda meh, In Totem shaman you can use Splitting Axe after a trade to get 3 more additional totems with rush. so seems legit
Edit: OH you can choose to Overload to give them rush or just summon them as neutral 2/2 thats interesting
For 6 Mana you get 4 2/2 Minions on the board and if you let it overload your for 2 (so 8 Mana for the whole card) they also get rush?
I think this card is pretty good. Seems a little slow at first but depending on the board state this could either give you a decent board or trade in with the opponents.
Edit: Just saw the release video - you either get 4 2/2 Treants or 4 2/2 Totems with rush

I think you are close. I see 4 2/2 Treant totems you can additionally pay the 2 overload to gain Rush.

The card looks preety strong, i think it will do well with spell druid, or might help the token shaman archetype.

ooooh, that makes way more sense then.
New Mage Minion - Lab Partner
So this must be created to support those spell damage archetype right, at 1 mana and good 1 mana stats surely this will see experimentation and play.

Good as a spell damage booster, good as a 1-drop,this will definitely see play
Runic Carvings is a New Druid & Shaman Card Revealed for Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Expansion
The treants have no rush. You either get :
1. 4 2/2 treants
2. 4 2/2 totems with rush (overload 2)
So basically you pay 2 overload for rush
New Mage Minion - Lab Partner
Wow, good card - nice one drop for Mage and it even pushes the Spell Damage Synergy!
I like it!
New Mage Minion - Lab Partner
This will do something, I'm just not entirely sure what.
1-mana spelldamage is unprecedented meaning there's no telling how good that is.

1/3 is good enough. +1 spell power as well?
That's just too good. Tempo mage might actually make a come back because of this one card.
Runic Carvings is a New Druid & Shaman Card Revealed for Hearthstone's Scholomance Academy Expansion
So I'm assuming both totems and treants are 2/2s with Rush, right?
Either way the Overload seems a little...over the top?. It's just 4 tokens and it already costs 6-mana
