Question about Uther OTK decks: Is Auctionmaster Beardo the superior method for pulling off the combo (versus Garrison Commander + using some minion bounce over multiple turns)?
I don't have Auctionmaster Beardo, so I have only done the latter version, which feels slow at the end when you're maybe one turn from winning or losing either way. I realize that with the Beardo version you need to do some setup with the Emperor Thaurissan cost reduction turn.
I will say, my solution for Outcast in heavier decks is simple. Make them too slow for aggro decks to use. Four of the cards are card draw, three of them literally say "Outcast: Draw a card", and the other two are instant damage to minions. Give Outcast to card generation effects, big demons, stuff like that. It really shouldn't be on anything cheaper than five mana, at least for a little bit.
The outcast mech is one of those things that after 2 months of playing dhunters, I can safely say is only really viable for a deck playing a bunch of cheap stuff, i.e. aggro decks, or even control dhunter. It simply doesn't work with greedy decks or decks playing lots of high costed cards. In effect its to say that the mana cost of the card itself doesnt matter, its never going to be too slow for aggro. The only thing that matters is its effect, hence why we don't see Illidari Felblade in tempo dhunter. Skull of Gul'dan is 6 mana, and while there is a world where its too slow for aggro (viper notoriously avoids it like the plague before the the third nerf), the effect is just too strong to ignore. This is not replicated in big dhunters, for reasons stated.
So the best way forward is to create more cards that guarantees outcast in a way like Sightless Watcher, and to design it in such a way that it doesn't draw cards or deal direct damage. For the time being (until team5 decides to create the dhunter core classic set from the bunch of cards now), my opinion is that outcast should only have defensive, not offensive effects.
The Braum/Anivia decks have been very, very difficult to face. I’ve taken different approaches to dealing with it and nothing is working consistently. Play the long game; rekindled/duplicated champs. Play aggressive; ruination. Pretty frustrating.
Or even just before the new expansion hits, a Season 1 grand finale competition that could feature members completing a mini-expansion set around a chosen season 1 card winner.
Give members like 2 weeks or something crazy like that :)
Sadly, I did not complete in first try, but considering my many attempts with numerous decks, the second attempt was successful and quite satisfying! TY!! :-D
P.S. Oh and I do not wish to admit it but, trying for almost a week for an hour or 2 a day! >:-S
I said this before, but I honestly will give Blizz the benefit of the doubt when it comes to DH's initial balance. They legitimately did not expect them to have so much tempo, because of the hero power. For the better part of their development, until three months before the announcement, their hero was 2 mana "Give your hero +1 Attack this. Can be used twice each turn." Giving them a hero power with basically the same effect at half the cost suddenly pushed their tempo through the roof, and most of the cards were probably already past initial design.
Five mana Skull makes sense in a world where the deck was too heavy to guarantee the Outcast. Three durability Aldrachi makes sense when you were probably only swinging for two. 2/2 Battlefiend makes sense when you were paying twice the mana to give it +1 Attack. Five mana 10/10 Imprisoned Antaen (which it was during the streamer summit) makes sense when that was the big finisher.
I agree that the current hero power is more fun, unique, and useful than what they had before. They just strangled themselves with the deadline. Clearly, the class needed more than a year to design properly.

I have been playing hearthstone since release off and on, never really getting that into it until Rastakhan's rumble, which i loved everything about, the trailer song i still listen to all the time(just instumental when i'm working and with vocals when i'm exercising). And I LOVE gonk.
Gonk to me was a card that a lot of people didn't really want to do anything with just because it was there but i thought it was a fun card that just needed some more tools to work properly. Not a card like Moorabi, but something with actual potential to be good. I crafted this in rastakhan and played it in some armor druid deck homebrew i made, it wasn't very exciting, but then i got serious about it when DoD came around.Secure the Deck was THE card for gonk druid, with it you could stockpile massive amount of damage through claws without cluttering your hand. And it was probably the most fun way to kill an opponent i've even done, and the most fun i have ever had in this game PERIOD. The best part was my opponent knowing i was a gonk druid after playing gonk, and not playing more than a few minions at a time so i couldn't just gonk them right out, or them having a taunt in the way that they thought i couldn't push through, and just destroying them right through it. Speaking of, if you're playing against gonk, never NEVER play khartut defender, some guy i fought played two against me on the same board when he knew i was a gonk druid. Healing for eight when i get 4 free swings into a small minion isn't good for you dude haha. I still rewatch the old replays sometimes i'm not ashamed to admit haha. After gonk rotated i stopped playing again, if you've seen me on the front page you'll know how i feel about activision_blizzard and paywall cards returning. Now i just want to play gonk in wild. And that's all i'm going to be using this game for anymore. If you have a good Decklist please PM me :)
To be honest I had the exact same question when I found the list online: I guess Magic Trick does the trick (pun intended), but I can see a world where you swap out a copy for Evocation.
Let's just say that this build is a little more budget friendly lol
Since I have a habit of opening big, slighly awkward legendaries I put together a Big Warrior deck during Boomsday that was really fun when it worked! I mean, what is a man supposed to do with both Woecleaver and The Boomship is his collection?
All removal up until T6 when you play Gather Your Party and start to cheat out your biggest and baddest minions one after the other while laughing evil-y. Sleeper card: Damaged Stegotron as a decent taunt on T6 if you draw bad or excellent as a recruit without the battlecry. Also with rush after playing Dr Boom. ;) I think I even included Rotface because I have it and why not.
After rotation I opened The Boom Reaver (of course) and tried the deck out in wild. When I unevitably opened Colossus of the Moon during Uldum it got squeezed in as well together with some Living Monuments.
As you understand, really fun to play and also a way to find a use for some of your awkward legendaries. ;)
Especially the increased cost on Pilfered Goods. I don't actually care at all about my deck losing two cards. What I care about is the absurd efficiency of drawing 2 cards for 2 mana. The card advantage that generates is insane, combined with the ability to fish out answers that aren't in his own deck. 3 mana draw 2 is a lot more reasonable.
It's more likely that the elusive turret will be replaced with a scout turret. They could move elusive to 5 cost .. but it would go from a 3/1 elusive to a 5/1 elusive ... not sure I like that at all. And 4 cost spells see tons of play, so Heimer would still get to generate tons of elusive turrets in that slot too, and they would be 4/1. I think if they keep the elusive turrets at all, it will still be too powerful. It's more likely that they just ditch the elusive option and replace it with scout.
I think the Demon Hunter class was overall very well-designed. The Outcast mechanic, the class identity of being attack-based, the synergy of its core cards that formed its identity...everything was well-designed and thought of, and some classes would kill to have core cards as great as DH (looking at you, Paladin).
The main problem was how overtuned and overpowered everything was. 5-mana Skull of Gul'dan, Priestess of Fury, Altruis the Outcast, 0-mana Eye Beam...basically every nerfed card used to be oppressive that they just terrorized the meta from the start. The class was too efficient and powerful, as compared to the other classes whose identity and power level kind of bogged down due to numerous expansion sets and a weak core set to begin with.
I'm interested for DH to have more control-based archetypes in the next expansion. In fact, it's already got great tools for a variety of archetypes, and I won't be surprised if the class gets terrible cards in the next expansion to prevent it from dominating again. That said, I'm still excited to see what direction they'll take the class in for the future.
I can't say I agree entirely that the class was well designed. Its not like team5 needed reminders on how oppressive an aggro deck can get when its supplied with plenty of draw cards AND cheap tempo cards to boot. The nerfs/changes were timely, but corrective, after it was apparent that nothing else could match dhunters in its first iteration. The outcast mech, while interesting, means that the class can never be anything more than a deck that plays cheap cards (big dhunters are a good example. You'd play Sightless Watcher just to guarantee outcast effects). I look forward to them printing cards to guarantee outcast effects, or something to smooth out the problems when playing greedy decks.
That said, its all in the past now. Fundamentally dhunters are in a better spot in standard (its still broken in wild) than it has ever been. I agree that the other classes kinda got screwed with a weaker core set, but that's exactly what I think team5 should be working on instead of constant nerfs to dhunters.
One random thought I just had: Wouldn't it be better to kick off season 2 some time after the next expansion hits? Just give us 2 weeks or something to toy around with the new cards.
Thanks for your kind words and your thoughts on my ideas!
1) and 3): I second your idea, that sounds like a good solution.
2) I gave the vote for the starting time some more thought. If this should be done, the first step would be to ask Shadows what is possible for him. Everything else is secondary. After the vote, it would be important to compromise in my opinion. So let's say there are 20 people voting to start at 8 am and 30 people voting for 4 pm. The result of this vote should not necessarily be to vote at 4 pm, but maybe at 1 or 2 pm (find the middle ground and move into the direction of the winner).
I like that you highlighted that no Hunter card won. I honestly feel there were a few weeks that the only reason I lost was because of some (possibly in the sub-conscience) Hunter hate.
This is an interesting point to bring up.
I feel like there's rarely any hatred towards a WCDC card purely for the class, even if it's dominant in the current meta. That said, some people will have visceral reactions to various deck archetypes which will cause some negative opinions and lower scores on your card if it supports said archetype, whether or not the archetype is currently in its state of dominance as it has been. Although understandable, it's not necessarily always "fair", although there's not much that can be done about this.
Please note that there probably wouldn't have been a Demon Hunter card winning if there had not been the sixth competetion ("Are you prepared?") specifically asking for it. That actually provoked me into trying to do something with the class during the last competitions of season 1. Outcast is a cool mechanic, there sure are lots of things left to exploit here.

two days week?
It's definitely intended to be 9 days. Although I wouldn't mind a 2-day week either, since level 5 vault already gives a random Champion.
Damn but Braum is annoying now.

I guess I’ll just play this deck too

I love Kingsbane. I really do wish that it could be more viable in this environment.
is it possible to use pre paid league of legends cards to buy coins on LoR?
Yup! They also work in Valorant, Riot's new FPS.
I imagine they'll eventually get around to fixing the branding on the cards. Here's their support article that confirms it.

Only a little related, but someone might like it.
At the start of the UK pandemic there was a spate of BBC News people playing instruments along to the BBC News Theme.
My favourite one was this with a violin - not as technically difficult as this HS theme but I like it.
