  • "Give an ally 'Cannot be damaged or killed'" - What card is this?

I kinda think the card is slightly broken as there isn't many things in the game yet that can out right remove someone who is already enchanted with it. There are options like Recall, Deny, Riptide, and or out right Obliterate them, but only two factions do that stuff well. Bilgewater and Ionia.

Bilgewater has two options, Riptide and Devourer of the Depths. But Devourer of the Depths can be countered himself by simply damaging him so he doesn't have enough health to obliterate his target.

Ionia on the other hand is great at it. As Ionia has a butt ton of ways to recall them, stun lock them, or out right "Deny" the ability from being used.

On a lesser note. A heavy frost centered Freljord deck can also shut it down but I don't know of any meta worthy frost decks that exist.

This stream was a good idea. As a designer (from a very different field) I enjoy watching how others designers in their creative process and their production phase.

By the way, it was nice to see you Fluxlashor sharing the stream and chatting with the rest of us like a fellow hearthstoner!

    Thank you!

This card is pretty toxic.  I can't believe this was allowed to be a card.

Thanksfully we won't need to wait 6 months for it to be nerfed like a certain Undertaker card

Thanks for the comments from BasilAnguis and linkblade91, your advices are really valuable .I'll fix the problems and repost it :)

ps: it's weird that every time I try to reply/quote/edit, a new page pop out with a few lines of 'forum not valid' balabala, so meanwhile I can only leave comments :(

I decided to scrap my original card idea due to the difficulty with the wording. I think I'll go with this idea instead. Do you think 3 mana is good for this weapon or should it be upped to 4 mana even with the Overload? Comparing it to Charged Hammer that never saw any play.

Crimson Sigil Runner's nerf is not pointless (I explained it: otherwise, it wouldn't even be a nerf lol).

    What's wrong with Torrent's grammar?

  • [Legend] Tempo Priest (video Guild)

Thanks for the deck! Keen to play a good tempo priest list, though I don't have the veilweavers.

Can't help myself but to comment on the upvote thresholds... so hearthpwn xD haha

  • The Latest Hearthstone Nerfs and Buffs Are Here! Our Thoughts on the Card Changes

A 2 mana 2/3 weapon has always been stronger than vanilla weapon stats. That is not to say you would want to pay the full 3 mana without the overload here, but this is a card where getting it cheaper with overload is important, because it lets you start clearing stuff earlier when 2 attack is enough.

Ultimately there are a couple of fundamental matters on which we'd need to agree before going round in circles on the Axe, namely

    1. the strengths and weaknesses of the overload mechanic generally, and
    2. what a card being 'good' even means.

I am happy to hold them elsewhere, but right here I'd just say that in the Demon Hunter dominated meta of the last month Stormforged Axe qualifies as a good card by my definition of the term.

Back on Vanish: it was used in more than just quest rogue, as indicated by it being moved to the HoF when The Caverns Below rotated to wild. After people stopped blindly calling it bad and actually gave the card a chance they realised it was actually fairly good in its own right, at least in the metas leading up to its move to the HoF. Besides using the card,  the quest opened people's eyes to Vanish's potential, and I am claiming Demon Hunter's 2-health minions are opening people's eyes about Stormforged Axe.

Shaman's early-game tempo is a separate matter entirely and I am not disagreeing with you there.

  • MtGA Bugged?

I solved it by uninstalling and reinstalling the game. But as @OldenGolden I also find the game laggy every first game of the day and some disconnections here and there. They must have a server problem

... We are strangely in a world where Stormforged Axe is one of shaman's best tempo tool early game. Yeah, that's not a good sign. ...

Stormforged Axe has never been that bad, it just happens to be really effective against Demon Hunter due to all the must-kill 2-health minions it has. The other 9 classes were rarely so reliant on 2-health minions so the Axe never took off.

If anything it is a great example of why cards should not be considered weak based purely on how much they are played. Often they just need the right circumstances to find a home. This has happened before of course: I remember Vanish being considered awful until Un'Goro brought OG quest rogue and everyone has respected the card ever since, even to the point of it being moved to the Hall of Fame.

Stormforged Axe is bad mostly because it overloads you for one, and unfortunately its only good versus dhunters. Against other classes, with the possible exception of rogue, it sucks. The overload here is pertinent. Its bad enough to put cards like that in your deck, its even worse when it disrupts your other plays.

I make a mention of it because shaman's tempo tools early game is so weak. We used to have cards like Zap! and Likkim, but these are now gone with nothing to replace it. Its not an easy comparison with Vanish because Vanish was actually a key card in quest rogue, no matter what the matchup. Had Stormforged Axe been a 3/2 with overload for 1, I might change my opinion, but its not.

  • The Design of Hearthstone's September Card Back Continues Today!

Very cool card back, interested to see the 3D modeling/rendering in the last vid. I predict there will be some sparkles or shimmer to the crescent moons and maybe some slight movement to the center feathers :D

  • Neoguli's Custom Rogue Core Set Changes

I definitely like the concept on strength and weaknesses, that's a really good way to merge class flavour with game mechanics.

I like the real plan less.

In particular, I think cards like SI:7 Agent are the epitome of how Rogue should work: damage from hand, together with moderate board presence. Or sneaky moderate board presence with stealth, which you can setup with Cold Blood. Since the Agent is pretty balanced, he should stay.

In this concept, I would be ok with Edwin VanCleef leaving Standard, but Xaril is just underwhelming, despite being absolutely cool: the card should probably be buffed to (3), in order to make it decently relevant. At (4) it's basically out of the game (powerlevel has rised a lot since Old Gods).

I think some of the custom cards are too clunky.

On a sidenote, I'd love to see a Pirate-y spell that shoots with a pistol for moderate damage [2 for (2)] and as Combo equips a scimitar or a short blade of sorts [a 1/3].

Thought of this effect, not sure if it's that great but I like it.  The weapon itself and the effect don't necessarily go together, but I wanted a cool weapon from WoW if I was going to make a Legendary weapon card.  The cost might be a little steep, and the name of the Hero Power probably needs a little work too, but I already submitted it so... oh well!  Fits the idea of a warrior giving up a defensive position (armor gain) to go full out offensive and hitting anything that comes within reach of his blade.

  • Grimm Face Hunter

Updated the list (not the guide yet sorry) with AoO.

Pack Tactics and Scavenger's Ingenuity gave the deck further consistency.

I added back one Explosive Trap against the current Aggro meta, I might have to find room for one more.

  • The Latest Hearthstone Nerfs and Buffs Are Here! Our Thoughts on the Card Changes

Nope, it's not fine, stats speak for themselves. Odd DH needs not to be erased, but certainly nerfed some more. In particular, it has way more reach than Odd Rogue, and that's what marks the difference.

Odd DH is the best deck in the meta, while also being the most popular.

The latest nerfs are really too marginal for how Odd DH works: Tempo, Snowball, Reach/Burst damage.

I'm not sure of what I suggested, but certainly some core odd-costed DH card needs to be nerfed way harder than they did so far, and warglaives is basically the last untouched card, together with Metamorphosis.

Hold on am I actually allowed to post Kirin Tor Arcanist with Fireblast Rank 2 also? I know it says to not use the already used Hero Powers but like I also post two new ones also so like idk?

Crimson Sigil Runner nerf is so pointless. Btw what's with the awful grammar on a Torrent card?

  • The Latest Hearthstone Nerfs and Buffs Are Here! Our Thoughts on the Card Changes

I've tried a lot of different Things with Shaman over the last few Weeks: Quest, Dragons, a bit of Highlander and now Galakrond/Evolve. There's some Potential, but rn no Matter what you do, there's a Class that's better at it (except for stealing Games with an Evolve Highroll into Bloodlust).

Imo, Shamans biggest Weaknesses are early Removal and Healing. You have Things like Lightning Bolt or Lightning Storm but the Overload just kills any Tempo you gain from those Cards. And Witch's Brew is really inefficient. Sometimes you just sit there and think: „Did I really spend 6 Mana for 12 Health?". (Honestly, I think Shamans would kill to have a Card like Penance)

The Buffed Cards seem promising and I hope that they'll improve the Class' current State, or at least provide a solid Base for Shaman in future Expansions.

I realise that this is horribly uncreative, but could be functional.

Since this is an Epic card, you could make it work similar to Shadowform.  In other words, playing a second copy could make them 3/3 Treants instead.  Or maybe just buff ALL Treants +1/+1 the rest of the game for playing a second copy, similar to Goru the Mightree.
