It's 4x for epics and legendaries, but golden rares disenchant for 5x regular (100 vs 20) and commons for 10x (50 vs 5). The worst case for these packs (1500 dust) is about the same as 15 average regular packs.
So if you want to buy dust, this is more efficient than regular packs. But buying dust is very expensive, so I wouldn't recommend doing it at all if you're on a budget.
That doesn't work. The algorithm won't give you a card if you have already had it at some point in time. You are only guaranteed to get a card if you have never owned it before.
Am I the only one who's irritated by the widespread use of double quotation marks ("Hero Power") instead of single ones ('Hero Power')? Even some of the veterans do this. Are there old cards where doubles were used so it's okay to do so?
(Also: as far as I know, if your card ends with the quote of your new Hero Power, the period should be inside the quotation marks.)
Demon, that's usually your kind of business. Can you confirm or correct this?
I mean, since Metamorph is the newest card with the mechanic, it makes sense to follow that wording. For the same reason it is now perfectly reasonable to write "Draw a spell" instead of including "From your deck" despite more cards including that part than not. The games language evolves over time, and it's therefore logical to use the most recent wording.

I was using Metamorphosis for my basis. I will correct before entering but I just figured that was the norm not the exception. My bad!

I noticed that I'm wrong pretty early on, and planned to fix it before I submitted lol. You are right, though: it should be single quotations if you want to be 100% accurate. For most people, though, I imagine being 99% accurate is good enough :P
Edit: Also yes, the period should be inside the quotations.
Edit2: Apparently Metamorphosis uses double quotations, so maybe that's now the standard *shrugs* Curious.
Hmm, so if you have a full collection and want a specific epic or legendary in golden, you could take a chance and disenchant the regular before opening the packs and if you happen to get an epic/legendary it is guaranteed to be the one you disenchanted (of course there is a chance you won't get any and you are out some dust). Does that sound correct?
At the very worst, you will get 1560 dust. If you roll an Epic or a Legendary or even a few extra Rares, the value increases greatly. If you are looking to craft some missing cards for a deck than this is a very cost efficient way to make dust.

A great example of this comes from Hearthstone. The Caverns Below was not a massively OP card - the win rates for the archetype were only narrowly over 50% - but it created a meta game where match-ups were super polarized. Either you were playing a deck that was good against Quest Rogue, or you weren't, and that was the deciding factor in whether or not you won, not how you played the game. Blizzard tried and failed to balance it multiple times with nerfs.
I fully agree with you but wasn't Hearthstone always this way after Naxxaramas?
I mean, there was always this 1 way too powerfull deck warping the meta which was so much stronger then everything else that forced every other deck to either tech against it or to play counters.
Ex: Started with UTH Hunter otk, then Face Hunter, Mech Mage, Solitary Rogue, 7/7 Shaman, Demonlock, Dr. 6 Paladin, Pirate Warrior, Jade Druid, Patron Warrior, ...etc, just to name a few.
I've been playing something very similar to that TF/GP "keg control" deck. It's effective, but so stressful to play! Much more than my other control decks. You really need to put a lot of thought into when you're going to drop your kegs and how exactly you intend to use them, since they are nearly impossible to protect for long.
This is one of those things that I'll always buy immediately (in the hopes that I'll hit that timer for a legendary). Anyway, managed to get 5 epics, all of which I'll dust because I already have them! It's nice to flesh out some of my other decks with some of the goldens that I'm missing too!
@meisterz39 Thanks for the feedback. Agree with the balance issues. I liked the idea of not being able to use the cards you drew as a counter, but you're right, that is still a lot of draw. Also I figured the art would need to be "nerfed" - that was just what gave me the idea so I figured I would throw it up as is for some feedback.

Thanks for pointing me at Metamorphosis, I had overlooked this. I guess both variations are viable then.

I'm sorry but what was the Point of getting classic packs again?
Even as a f2p player I already own almost all classic cards except some few epics and a couple of legendaries.
Due to the immense power creep over the last few years so few of the epics and legendaries are playable.
