  • Five Hearthstone Cards Are Being Nerfed on Thursday

Interesting they would choose Parrot as a target. I guess they are scared of Big Spell Mage just taking over after the format shifts.

Also I feel like it's a miss to not nerf Frostwyrm's Fury. That card will always be a crutch for Frost DK and would be more balanced at 8-mana while leaving more design space.

Can't say anything about Wild, but surely there are more changes on the horizon if they actually plan to affect the format in a meaningful way.

Also, keeping Cataclysm around all these years for nostalgia is finally paying off.

  • Five Hearthstone Cards Are Being Nerfed on Thursday

Well, it looks like devs won't address all issues but regardless a small step to start somewhere for Wild. Druids still having infinite mana, Secret Mages popping 5/5 or 6/6 s as early as turn 2-3, Big Priest graveyard interaction not changed... Man, Wild sure is Wild that you can get lost in the jungle 😅

  • Breaking Down MARVEL SNAP's New Card Kang - Theorycraft Decks, Top Five Synergies, & Lore!

There is one risk with snap, they can counter Kang with Cosmo...
No he gives you 11 card deck only if you draw him on turn 5 or 6, if you draw him earlier you don't get a redraw...

  • Pokemon Trading Card Game Classic Set Brings 3 Vintage Decks to Players in a Very Stylish and Practical Package

in the classic rules, double colorless counted as 1 fire when attached to charizard. this was affirmed in the gameboy TCG game that had the first three expansions.

no idea what subsequent rulings have been made tho.

I balanced this card around the effect generally being a worse Frost Nova, with the upside that it can disrupt spells. Summoning 2 Tentacles is meant to mimic the boss battle and give yourself more random targets for your opponent to accidentally send their minions into. Does this seem balanced and fun overall? It feels very thematic to me but I could see it being too annoying to play against (although Mass Hysteria is a similar effect and it's considered fine)

Was wondering the same after the trailer. That looked weird.

    Congrats to Demon!

I disagree with you in this case linkblade. The two of you do us all a service by organising these competitions, but that doesn't change that you're still regular competitors and should earn the big prize if you can accumulate enough wins.

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (Hearthstone Riddles)

Nor is it the Runespear! That weapon is already hella busted as it is....

I think it counts as 2 Fire. Not 100% sure, though.

  • Blood Magic

Crap, don't have half the cards needed to use any shared decks.
Oh well, I'll wait for the next

  • Whose got the most Achievement Points! Bragging Rights right here!

That guide is incomplete. What I normally do is the easy ones so already got those from that guide.

Here is at least a deck guide to the achievements (not the new ones from mini set) https://docs.google.com/document/d/1gGPMr34TuKXIWX7eExQLyL_qsjeHO6NFu7ztq1LUCDA/edit

@linkblade91 Is there any particular reason why The Phoenix Chamber doesn't simply let you choose the target? Nevermind, it's obviously against stacking the effect with its own summon.

haha Yep, totally intended balance check. Not a coincidence or oversight in my creative thinking...nope.

    Show Spoiler

Actually it's because I wanted a location where position mattered; I created this card first but redesigned it after I realized its potential:

    Stonetusk Boar OTK, ho!

  • 8 Excellent MARVEL SNAP Decks to Play - DoomWave, Thanos Zoo, Deadpool, & More!

Is the database for Out of Cards inaccurate? If it's not, then you cannot play Zabu on turn 2, since OoC has it listed as costing 3.

There's no escape from the Violet Hold!... Unless they need to make room for a new prisoner apparently.

Would attaching double colorless to Charizard count as 1 Fire as the Power states, or does it count the card twice?

    Legendary locations time!

(I actually had to post these at a smaller size than I normally would to get them to all fit in one line)

Tree of Ardenweald is a flexible option for Druid with some long-term longevity. On its first turn, you can use the Refresh option to basically spend 1 mana (and 1 Durability) on it. Its first option can also be of good use to provide a free source of Spell Damage for them. Ardenweald is known for habiting "dream trees" and it's a perfect fit for the class.

The Guardian Monoliths is an entirely original thing, but I thought the way that I worked the card out overall merited bringing it up here. In a spell-menagerie Shaman, it's just a way to get more mileage out of your cards that ask for multiple spell schools and helps you cast spells easier.

Bastion Arch is an option for Priest to copy some spells while you control it. The first card is the way the card appears in the collection, in your hand, and in-play if you haven't cast any spells (and in the hypothetical world where it's a real card, the card database for Hearthstone websites). The second card is the way it appears after you've cast at least one spell while controlling it. In WoW, Bastion is the home of the Kyrians.

Wow, Demon is obliterating the competition this Season >_> Too bad you and I don't count for the "top winner gets a prize" thing...probably. I don't think we mentioned such a scenario but it seems wrong if we do lol

  • Eighth Wonder of the World - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

I think flavor is quite important this time around. Picking an emblematic place for the Warcraft universe is surely a good way to go.

The Frozen Throne's effect is based on the fact that this place is what gives the Lich King his power to control the Scourge. Maybe it's a bit basic for such an iconic location, but I don't know. I know I made up the word "graveyard", but it's not something Blizzard hasn't made in the past.

Orgrimmar is actually a recycled idea that I ended up not submitting, but I wanted to bring it back.

Let the fires of the Phoenix Chamber revive you anew!

Not sure about the class, but I'm okay with it for now. Edit: Thank you Wailor for the Shaman suggestion.

  • Breaking Down MARVEL SNAP's New Card Kang - Theorycraft Decks, Top Five Synergies, & Lore!

Kang sounds like the objectively strongest card in the game, atleast in theory. Mainly because of 2 confirmed interactions:

    • Kang resets any snaps, meaning that you can bluff your opponent without any risks
    • Kang resets your draws. So while you don't get Kang again, he essentially allows you to run a 11 card deck without any downsides
  • More New Decks That Came Out Of Nowhere

We were the ones who founded and ran Mississauga's Wang's Kitchen for many years. We are pleased to introduce to you HAKKA CHOW, the one and only.

  • New Variety Cards - Rotation & Expansion

So we are getting 10 new variety cards coming soon to LOR and about a month to play around with them in our massive card pool.

Will it be removal, tribal support, archetype support, who knows but any of that would be awesome.

On the less exciting note they are finally gonna start "deleting" rotating cards in LOR in a month with the next expansion:

    1. Good news is stable metas with top decks for those that like climbing

    2. Bad news for the first time ever you will not have free acess to the complete card pool in LOR for deck crafting

Just to give a detailed account of what this means, Jayce for example exists in two of the top control decks in jayce Lux, and jayce heimer.

If he gets rotated that would free up room potentially for other control archetypes to exist.

Bad news is Lux is no longer playable in the meta.

So I know for me I'm in wait and see mode, new variety cards will be awesome, rotation might just break the game in a dozen ways we will see.

  • [Game] Card Treasure Hunt (Hearthstone Riddles)

A bugged legendary weapon that shows up in duels? My last guess, but possibly The Runespear?

  • Blizzard Commits to Fixing Problems With Hearthstone's Wild Format

I don't think people get that if you nerf some Wild cards to remove some deck which kills you turn 3 from the meta, you'll get a deck which will kill you turn 4 as soon as the nerf hits the ladder. It's impossible to keep Wild balanced because when they make new cards they can't physically keep track of every new interaction in the Wild format, it would leave them with no room for designing the newest expansions.

I think that the idea of making a format with rotating sets is a very good idea. It incentivises players to craft the oldest cards, building a collection that can also be used in Wild eventually, but it's also a nice bonus for those who already have the cards for old expansions and want to play their favourite decks in a meta which lets them play competitively and that doesn't make the games last 3 or 4 turns.
