Reminder that we still have our April Fools competition, Consistently Inconsistent, going on if you're looking for some chaos. The regular competitions will still be going on as normal.
I'm excited that this competition finally gives me a chance to use this card that I've had in my portfolio ever since Death Knight was first announced (and I touched up to use the proper border and watermark).
Not much to say about them, they just used typical mechanics for each class. Frostwolf Chieftain is the biggest outlier, so I might make it a Neutral (even though Rush is pretty typical for Warrior)
@Demon - I like the card, but Climactic Necrotic Explosion tells me they're trying to encourage something other than straight triple-Rune setups. This would butt heads with that direction.
@Wailor - I think you could trim the Frostwolf Chieftain down to say "Rush. Whenever this would attack, summon a 3/4 Grunt to attack instead." The extra words seem unnecessary - how often will it attack non-enemies? - and that would allow you to fit the text on three lines or put Rush on its own line instead. I like it the most because the card seems neat...although he might not do much for the Warrior's current Standard situation.
Wow, this is the lowest participation I've ever seen. I guess I'm to blame for proposing this boring theme.

A solid support card for Demon Hunter. It's balanced and the artwork is cool, so not much to add here.

I like the idea of a card that works for triple Rune decks. An AoE feels basic enough for a Core set card, although it might be a bit too strong (not sure).
Finally, I'd probably change the art, as it's a bit boring.

Paladin receives some Dude support with Lothraxion the Redeemed and Muster for Battle so I've decided to go down that route. Dude Paladin has explored a lot of design space already so it wasn't easy to find a new and interesting effect (just buffing the Recruits would have been boring for example), but I defintely want to go with this artpiece. Giing it the iconic Truesilver Champion statline felt like a nice bit of nostalgia. Please let me know which version you prefer or if I should try to find something else altogether!

The Headhunter feels a little off flavor-wise because it rewards getting your own stuff killed. It does fit DH's swarm-archetype well though, so if you want to go with it I'd consider changing the name and the artwortk. The Warrior card is the most interesting of the three and I agree with linkblade's idea to make the wording simpler. Lastly, the Mage card is very solid, but not overly exciting. So what it comes down to in my opinion is how much creativity you'd want to see in a Core set. If you dare to do something exciting, go with Warrior. If you prefer to deliver a solid support card, take Mage.

Nice card, I like how it is very simple yet has a condition that isn't easily met. That's my main concern as well: If you randomly generate or steal that card, you're looking at a vanilla 3/3/3 in 99% of the cases. The devs went as far as giving every class a Corpse counter so they could make use of Corpse cards they obtained, so this seems to be an issue worth looking into.

It does a lot of what I'd expect from a Core card: it's support rather than center stage, it has an easy yet useful effect, it's cheap and seems playable at every stage of the game. It might be a little too directly on-the-nose with what it does (imagine a Shaman card saying "Your Overload cards don't Overload this turn"), but it's still my favorite of the week so far. Replacing the Battlecry with Outcast would be a really funny way to fix that.

We only have 48 hours left to submit and we only have 2 entries. At this rate, we very well may not even have enough people to fill the entire finalist list.

Pretty good card, although I must ask how it would choose what side? Would it just pick a side at random for every card?
Wailor
I will agree with the other two that Frostwolf Chieftain is the best.
And I don't blame you in the slightest. I don't think the theme is boring. I think simple themes like this can be a good place to encourage a certain thinking space and it seems that this competition in particular just got unlucky with turnout.

I think I prefer the second version.
The first version isn't my favorite since passive effects on weapons are something that can be abused by simply holding onto the weapon and never using its final attack. That's why cards like Sword of Justice also have the clause of losing 1 Durability. As far as I can tell, the only weapon with an effect like this without a clause to lose Durability is Overlord's Whip because the effect can be bad.
For this reason, I like the second version's design better, although because it costs 4 mana, it's hard to summon a lot of Silver Hand Recruits, sufficiently buff them to make giving them Charge a strong payoff, and also play this.

I was thinking it would alternate, left-right-left-right. That would maintain the spirit of trying to keep everything on the "outer edges", checking after each card.
I agree with Demon in-that the Lifesteal version has that "well I just won't swing, then" feeling that makes things murky. I also agree that maybe the Charge iteration could be cheaper/smaller to proc it easier; like a 3/3/2? That'll give more leeway to summon SHRs, buff them a bit with...something, and play the weapon itself.
Just saw your submission; apologies for the late feedback 😕 I like the new card a lot.
Competition Theme: Hard Core
The game is switching up its cards this year and all the classes feel it to the core.
A new Hearthstone year is upon is, and Wailor wants us to take a look at the core of the set.
As always, we can be reached through Discord or here on the site via PM if you have any issues to report.

Pretty straight-forward: need those Outcast cards in the leftmost and/or rightmost spot of your hand? This'll do it for you.

Btw, friendly reminder that Tradeable and Magnetic are currently in the Wolf Core Set, so cards with these keywords are also allowed.

We could blame something else instead, like the fact that it is Spring Break week. No need to throw you under the bus :P

You've got a little under 24 hours to submit.
Good luck to the finalists! And Happy Easter to those who celebrate it :)
Congratulations to Loknax!
Not only with a win, but also with the highest-scoring card to ever be submitted.
Congrats to Loknax!
