  • Opinions on Wild.. What are broken decks per class in wild?

I'm not sure what you're asking for here.

Do you want an overview of the strongest deck ever per class?
Do you want an overview of the strongest decks that have ever existed in wild?
Do you want an overview of the best decks currently available for every class?

Isn't Mecha'thun still possible with what they used to do: Galvanizer and one Emperor Thaurissan tick?

It should help with the Darkest Hour slightly, though.

Yeaaaaah, Paladin was in a trash dumpster for a long time, without any good control deck, mostly hyper aggro or memes.

  • New Demon Hunter Spell - Eye Beam

Interesting interaction with this card in Wild today. My opponent played Loatheb and I drew Eye Beam next turn, which means it should cost 6 mana. However, the spell still cost 1 mana. It seems like the Outcast effect overrides Loatheb's. I don't know if this is a bug or not, but it feels unfair.

I don't know why these people downvoted you, you are right. Blizzard just doesn't understand wild that well.

  • Opinions on Wild.. What are broken decks per class in wild?

In view of all the drama about wild I'd like to know what you guys consider as broken decks in wild for each class.

I'll take obvious, current ones like Warlocks' Cubelock and Mechathunlock or Priests Raza and Res. As well as past forgotten stuff like goblin bomb hunter and odd rogue.

Just please try to add a description if the deck is from the past or the name is not enough.  If you nickname  Dinomancer Warlock "Dinolock" it's  fine but specify the wincon for us uninitiateds.

I’m assuming that, as Demon Hunter gets more cards over time, they’ll continually reduce the power level of these original cards

Open the Waygate’s something that, if it got nerfed just a tiny bit too much, would probably become completely unplayable.

  • What Inspires You To Build A Deck?

I'm not a very good player so play for fun mostly. To that ended I love deck worthy as many random card/minion/spell generators as possible. Last year I played a Lackey Rogue a fair bit having never liked that hero much in the past. Currently zero minion mage gives me my random itch, but would love to play a deck for a hero that isn't normally a go to for randomness. If anyone has tips.

  • New MMR is a mess

Something does seem screwy, you shouldnt able to tank your mmr down EVER if you've hit legend. There needs to be a floor so people can do EXACTLY as you want to, get to the rank then play fun stuff.

I gather because you're getting matched against people who are rated lower than you winning against them isnt going to raise your MMR. (or negligible)

I'm always around rank 20-15 in the old system always playing fun/meme decks but in the early part off this season I was facing off against legend card back guys who definitely werent playing meme decks they were there for the wins.

I just auto conceeded to those guys since it was wasting both of our times, eventually my mmr became better(worse) and the matches seemed fairer , more balanced.

We'll have to see how it goes next season.

Hey, you could still suicide yourself as Jaraxxus with Sacrificial Pact! A Suicide Pact?

  • New MMR is a mess

So i had 11 stars, hit legend, game put me in legend 9k. I said "ok now i can meme around" big mistake. Suddenly i was like 12k, but  this time every time i won a game, it wouldnt give me any points, so i kept losing OR winning, but NEVER gaining points, now im a constant legend player stuck in rank 17k playing versus silver ranks that dont even have a full deck, just kinda new players.

HS is dead for the memes, im missing the old rank 5 or legend dumpster

now i dunno if i can fix this problem, dont make the same mistake.

  • Golden Hero Portrait - Completionist & Grind

    Quote From Avalon

(...) By the way, how is your grinding going? Have you got any new golden/1k portraits

Not too bad actually, I haven't completed any new 1k portrait, but worked toward completing Priest & Warrior, respectively 70 & 80 wins away from it.
Then comes Hunter, Shaman, Mage & Druid - at a respectable 900, 800, 700 & 600 wins on ladder each, in that order. They are all coming together, at some point ... except maybe Demon Hunter ^^

Meanwhile, Gul'Dan & Valeera are both a tad over 1200 recorded wins - and I haven't touched Uther since I completed him
Total wins - in the quest log - writes 12 709, considering that my first 2 years, I wouldn't get close to 50% winrate, that's must represent a few more games played to say the least.

Wow, turn 4? That sounds crazy.

Anyway, you are right about the Sorcerer's Apprentice nerf. As much as I hate seeing nerfs to Basic/Classic cards, the apprentice is indeed overperforming in that deck.

  • Swain Leaked!

I don’t really think Swain solves the issue of not always having a Yasuo on board. Sure he might provide more stuns, but he doesn’t help provide benefits for the stuns.

Completely agree with you, just thought I’d throw in more highroll examples I’ve personally done, which involved killing someone turn 4 with quest mage thanks to just sorcerer’s apprentice, flamewaker, and a good evocation. The deck probably needs sorcerer’s apprentice to be nerfed to see a real decrease in play. This nerf will push Reno quest down a bit, while normal quest will continue to ruin the format. Hopefully I’m wrong, but I don’t see that changing much. Once it is truly put down though, Reno is about to dominate this meta, which is even worse considering they just nerfed albatross.

From personal experience playing the deck this season. This change will do nothing to quest mage. It will absolutely neuter Reno mage, but that deck wasn’t the final boss of the meta. With good mulligans I could consistently cast upwards of 20 spells on turn 5. If you had flamewaker and sorcerer’s apprentice you just kill them on the spot. Honestly I think the way to slow this deck down is just bump apprentice to 3. The quest is going to be finished relatively quickly until you get to 12. Apprentice however, in a class full of 1-cost spells, generates far too much value for a 2-drop. It feels like I’m playing storm in mtg when I play sorcerer’s apprentice and flamewaker together turn 5, and then string together a bunch of spells, then cast evocation and do it again. I’ve killed people turn 4 with quest mage, and the quest had nothing to with my wins maybe 15% of the time, simply because I generated so much value so quickly.

TLDR: this nerf won’t affect normal quest mage, but nerfing sorcerer’s apprentice would

Bloodbloom is the problem. Unless that made darkest hour 15 mana it just wouldn’t matter, and the ability to cast any spell with bloodbloom for just 2 mana is an insanely broken effect that happened to be truly abused by darkest hour. It’s a card they would have to build around for the future, similar to avianna, meaning that they will nerf the card causing the problems.

admittedly drakarri is definitely worse, since you have to play the same turn as thaurissan instead of life gain or removal. That being said most people wouldn’t be too sad to see mecha’thun warlock fade away as well, considering how uninteractive it was

  • Full Details on the Balance Updates Coming to Hearthstone Next Week - Demon Hunter Nerfs & More!

I disagree on that. Bloodbloom nerf was inevitable from the moment it was released back in Un'Goro. I knew it was very powerful when I first saw it. For 2 mana, you can use your life to cast any spell? That's powerful! You are given free 30 "mana" to play with which equates to the spell being 0 cost in a way. And then you still have your 8 mana remaining to do other stuff. Powerful! Many people didn't think much of this card back then but I knew that this card will get nerfed as more cards get released. Honestly, its nothing to be surprised at. Mechathun warlock was a collateral damage to its powerful effect.

  • Val'anyr Bookadin

So I tried this... Very first game, I was playing a Reno Lock.  The turn that he played Dragonqueen Alexstrazsa, I played an 8/9 Paragon of Light after dropping Umbra to reequip the weapon.  When Paragon died it buffed a Doppelgangster.  Umbra was still on board so I dropped the Gangster.  He quit before the animation ended!

Whether or not the Umbra addition ends up being really good or not in the long run, that moment alone was well worth the suggestion.  So Thank You, very very much!  LOL

  • Val'anyr Bookadin

That is an interesting interaction that I honestly haven't thought of since the deathrattle isn't natural to the minions.  I don't know if I like removing Kings because of the nice interaction with Echoing Ooze the turn you play Ooze.  However, I'm sure there is something that could be cut to make room for her.

It is likely difficult to play her with Doppel or Faceless as that would require the game to go long.  However, she could help to avoid a silence effect or a shuffle like Psychic Scream from completely removing Val'anyr from the game in some scenarios.

It's actually a bigger inconvenience than you're giving it credit for. Remember, you are doing next to nothing (both tempo-wise and survivability-wise) when you are dinking around generating random spells, the one caveat for this statement being when you discover a discounted spell you can play right away.

This means that aggro and midrange, control to an obvious lesser degree, are able to pressure your face. Spending mana simply to add more mana (cards) to your hand affects the game in no way until you get average or good cards and start spending that mana to deal with the opponent's threats.

A really good example of this is that 5 mana generate 3 spells card (Cabalist's Tome?). Why do you think most non-Quest non-otk mage decks didn't use that? One reason is because you spent so much mana at the end of the day, essentially doing nothing but generating and adding cards to your hand, that you massively fell behind on board and were at that much more risk to dying.

Tl;dr - At the end of the day you spend mana to add more cards that cost mana to your hand, which again you have to spend quickly. Adding 2 additional spells to that actually is a big deal because it slows you down a lot and makes you more at risk for dying if you don't just generate cheap spells 100% of the time

    .

Yeah, I would have agreed with those arguments if it wasn't for the fact, that cyclone mage 1) runs cheap spells and 2) benefits from casting them in combination with Sorcerer's Apprentice +Flamewaker/Stargazer Luna, so you aren't really doing nothing if you have those cards. And you still have some defensive options in the form of secrets and freeze effects.

I remember Cabalist's Tome and how running and playing it was a huge penalty for trying to complete the quest. Now you have cheaper alternatives, some of which also offer some kind of a board presence - Violet Spellwing (a fair turn 1 play) or, if you decide to start with the quest, you have Licensed Adventurer.

So, the present quest mage has undoubtedly a lot of strong synergies. It's not as weak as it used to be in the past, like you are describing it.

  • 10 Card Nerfs & Buffs Are Coming to Hearthstone Next Week Including Wild Changes and Demon Hunter Nerfs

Getting rid of Vargoth isn't going to change that. Dirty Rat can still miss against the mage and if you're facing the 2 turn win giant version even if you hit a giant they will still kill you with the quest.
