  • New Demon Hunter Spell - Eye Beam

    Quote From Marega

but it proabbly works in terms of who came first? Loatheb first says it costs 5 more. then u get eye beam that says if this is outcast then it costs 1. loatheb effect comes first, think of it as a stack just like on MtG or LoR, effects triggered after are prioritized so they happen first and according to the cards mechanic

I think you are right, but also wrong. Let me explain.

I think you are right that because Loatheb came first, his ability works first. So first Eye Beam costs 5 more, and then after that it costs 1. But that isn't how the stack works in MTG or LoR. In those games, whatever happened last triggers first. So first Loatheb would go onto the stack, then Eye Beam, Eye Beam would cost 1, then Loatheb's ability would come into effect and make it cost 6. But then again, Loatheb's ability is a one-time change. The effect enters the 'stack' then does the thing and leaves. Eye Beam on the other hand is a passive thing, something that is constantly in effect as long as a certain condition is met. But really, I have no idea. Just as I was writing this I changed my mind about which way it should work like four times. I could see it working either way.

  • Here's some art, make a card! [Legacy Game]

Lorewalker Cho meets Archbishop Benedictus. A pretty meme Legendary, but could potentially see use as either an anti-mill or anti-combo tool.

    Next up, a Boomsday Mech.

  • [LoE] Steel Sentinel - Heroic mode

I've used the covid epidemic to earn those heroic adventures' cardback and this worked perfectly, first try! Thank you a lot!

  • Freeze mage

Man this is so cool! Old school indeed Frosty!

A little guide would be great. A problem with old freeze mage was the opponent healing or Reno-ing the turn after you Alex them. Here there's still this risk but at least you have Kael and all the cost-reducing spells to compensate that. Have you ever had to down them from 30 in a single turn? Would it be possible? A little lazy to do the math now.

  • New MMR is a mess

    Quote From anchorm4n

I reached legend in wild this morning and since then I've been able to see the ranks of my opponents again. So far I've only played 3 or 4 matches, all of them against players between diamond 9 and diamond 5. I don't like this very much. I don't want to be in the way of people who are still trying to climb but I can't concede every single match. And then there's OPs problem of me trying to play meme decks and constantly running into T1 decks.

On the bright side, I'm sure the devs are monitoring the new ladder closely and as fast as they act these days, maybe we'll get a fix for this soon.

I don't think it's fair to read too much into the new system based on how the wild ladder's MMR works - wild is known to have far fewer players, so it's naturally going to be harder to get a decent match-up for every game

That is actually a pretty cool card. I dont think iv seen such effect either and now looking at it, it has a great potential and can open up some untapped design space. So good job!

Thanks, just to share my thought process: whenever I design something I always try to come up with a game mechanism that enforces player agency and has tons of potential cases to consider by both the players.

I suppose you could compare the design space itself to the rune system from Elder Scrolls: Legends. I always thought it was a really well designed system and one of the things that the game did really well. Funnily enough, I realized it just now. When designing the card, I wasn't really trying to implement that kind of player interaction, seen in ESL, into Hearthstone (it would not be a bad thing though).

  • The REAL Mastermind of the Rusted Legion

Hello, Shiv here! Please excuse any grammar mistakes, 8th grade is hard. I have a theory for you guys to ponder: Mecha-Jaraxxus isn't the real one who created the Rusted Legion. He is more like a pawn. But, if he isn't commanding the risen demons and heroes, who is? Someone we already met: Mecha'thun. There is evidence that links this mechanical entity to the Rusted Legion.

First of all, his quest to end fleshings. He states in his entry quote that "The era of flesh has ended."  The Rusted Legion is an army of reborn heroes and demons with mechanical upgrades. It seems plausible for Mecha'thun to meet up with Mecha-Jaraxxus and convince him that they both have a common goal: destruction of flesh and blood. Or he could be still locked up in Boom Labs and whisper in his ear to do that instead.

Another thing shown in Ashes of Outland is the possible existence of a cult. Namely, the Rustsworn. Rustsworn Cultist, Rustsworn Inquisitor and Rustsworn Initiate are part of this supposed group. What do Old Gods love more than tentacles and giant eyeballs? A good old-fashioned cult.

If that does not convince you, take a look at Rustsworn Cultist's shoulder pad.

Doesn't that look familiar to you? An eye. Huh, I wonder where we saw eyes on armor before...

  • Opinions on Wild.. What are broken decks per class in wild?

    Murozond Priest basically works like this;

    Draw all the cards.

    Play King Togwaggle

Wait for opponent to play ransom

    Play Murozond to copy ransom.

It's frustrating, but not really that good.

Oh, I see. Thanks for the clarification. But the way you are describing it, it sounds like the druid Togwaggle deck is the better option, because it's faster and more consistent.

now I'm a constant legend player stuck in rank 17k playing versus silver ranks that don't even have a full deck, just kinda new players.

How do you know you are fighting silver rank players?

I've seen a lot of players complaining about being at low ranks and cueing up against Legend players, and vice versa. But you can't see the other person's rank, so how on earth could you know if they are Legend of not? I guess I could understand if you aren't a very experienced .player and you cue up against someone with a 1,000 win portrait, the legend cardback, and a T-1 deck you might feel a bit cheated. But complaining about the rank of your opponent seems a bit silly when you can't actually know their rank.

Legend players can see their opponents rank

Well, question asked and answered. My mistake.

    Quote From Tetsuo

Interesting interaction with this card in Wild today. My opponent played Loatheb and I drew Eye Beam next turn, which means it should cost 6 mana. However, the spell still cost 1 mana. It seems like the Outcast effect overrides Loatheb's. I don't know if this is a bug or not, but it feels unfair.

It's got its up- and downsides. On the other side of the coin I drew one off of Skull of Gul'dan (outcasted) and it was on the far right side of my hand. I expected it to cost 0 but instead it cost 1 mana, which I didn't have.

Guys, the card says "This costs (1)", not "This costs (2) less".

It should still cost 6 with Loatheb. Eye Beam says "this costs (1)" and Loatheb says "costs (5) more". 5 more than 1 = 6.
