They will still stream Grandmasters, those games are part of their new system for the league. For the first three weeks, the competition starts with off-stream (yeah I don't know why either) Swiss portion, which then leads to top 8 dual eliminations, which is the part they'll show to us. That does mean that we won't be seeing any matches from half of them though, which is kinda...interesting, should I say.

I am not sure, 0 mana hero power seems bit scary. Imagine that you generate [Hearthstone Card (Coldara Drake) Not Found] somehow (yes I know it is mage card). Insta win:)

I also once got their board cleared and dropped Reno after early aggression and was confident that the game was over. After some 10 turns I was finally able to take the win, they still got very close. The class has insane amount of damage in it.

    The correct question should be:
What Genn Greymane does to Demon Hunter hero power?:)

Solem actually played an Even Demon Hunter in a best of 5 friendly duel with Roffle.  Genn tells us his usual curse into strength nonsense, and then... nothing happens!  Not that I want them to change Genn or anything, but... maybe he should read "your starting hero power costs (1) less" now that Demon Hunter and their 1 mana hero power exists?

Again, not really advocating for this.  BUT, I am someone who would love to see each class have a second, or even third, hero power that you can customize for the deck you are building.  Similar to how classes in WoW each have different spec builds.

  • New Rogue Hero somewhat confirmed?

If a current legendary could it be Akama otherwise if a while off then I reckon it’smore than likely to be a hero tied into a legendary from a future set like the last few pre-order heroes.

  • Quest Mage and Darkest Hour Warlock Changes Coming! Expect Changes to Open the Waygate and Bloodbloom

I hope they just raise the number of spells needed to complete Open the Waygate, and not nerf the reward. Back when it was first introduced, completing the quest required some build-around with sub-optimal cards; it was a suitably challenging objective for a cool and unique reward. Since then, we've gotten better spell generators with each expansion so much so that it has become almost trivial to complete the quest, with Evocation being the latest addition. Double the target to 12, maybe?

  • WoW Classic - "Is you is, or is you ain't my baby"

So the title may be confusing but it's kinda relevant, and I thought it'd be funny to use a song lyric from one of the old Tom n Jerry episodes I recall...

Anyhow,  here's my dilemma.  I was a young 20 something back when WoW originally released.  Played it from Vanilla---> Wrath of the Lich King.  Quit shortly into Wrath due to feeling like I was lost in the game at times, and after taking a break felt so far behind that I could "never catch up".

Fast forward through the last 16 years.  I ended up playing vanilla, BC, and wrath private servers for small stints here and there, before they inevitably died out due to propaganda from competing private servers or due to C&D orders (i.e. shut down).

As of 2019, played classic wow at it's re-release (re-launch?) with a friend.  I was the one to convince him to play.  Then in December of 2019 had some person issues I had to take care of and deemed it was necessary to cancel my sub and take a break for awhile.  Now here we are.  Friend is wondering if I'll ever come back.  He isn't pressuring me, but I told him I'd been thinking about it the past few months.

The problem: I don't really like classic wow.  Yes I enjoy it more than say current wow.  But if I'm being truthful, the class balance, itemization, etc was horrible in vanilla.  I don't want the super-heroes of modern wow where every player is the savior of the alliance/horde and can swarms of enemies with a snap of their fingers...but I also don't want vanilla wow where itemization is crap, your player looks like Joker on laundry day, and all that.

The problem part 2: My favorite expansion is BC.  I love the theme, the atmosphere, the quality of life updates, the flying mounts, the gear. Everything.  Everything in BC was just way better.  Ultimately I was honest with myself and the only reason I played Classic WoW and encouraged my friend to play it, was in the hopes that some day Blizzard would release "Classic BC" and I'd be able to relive that time period again.

The thing is...We are at LEAST 1 year away, if not longer....before that is a even a smidge of a reality.  And I'm growing bored with the games I'm playing (Teamfight Tactics, Legends of Runeterra, Hearthstone, some Diablo3 here and there...)

The problem part3:  Part of the reason I took a break from classic wow in December was because of job issues and stability in my relationship.  Both have been resolved now and things are much better...but now I'm afraid that the one thing that enticed me (raiding, doing dungeons, etc....waiting for BC) isn't actually feasible.

Even if I don't raid (a 2-4 hour commitment once or twice a week) dungeons in Vanilla don't hold the same attention as BC.  Secondly,  I thought well I could farm gold, just casually do dungeons, level alts, etc in the meantime but there's not a ton of fun replayability just dungeoning in vanilla for me over and over again on multiple alts.  Lastly my favorite class was a Blood Elf paladin, so leveling alts doesn't do much for me because my main in BC is gonna have to be re-rolled/start fresh as it is.

So my conundrum is: Should I even try to play classic WoW in the hopes that BC Classic ever comes around?  Am I living too much in the past (I guess you could say others who play classic are living in the past as well...)  Just looking for some advice on what to do, and how to move forward being a 30-something person and realizing that I can't necessarily commit the same amount of time that I used to when I was 20, and not sure how to enjoy WoW when the one thing in WoW I really enjoyed but hated the extensive time commitment to was raiding...

    Thanks in advance!

  • Libram Paladin with Infectious Sporelings

I think the best approach is a Control deck, and some way to give the Sporelings rush, like the new augmerchants

  • New Rogue Hero somewhat confirmed?

Vanessa VanCleef at last? Or maybe its Eudora from RoS adventure. Also, what happened to the supposed mage skin, Celeste, or something like that.

Judging historically, it might be a hearthstone only character, something a little light hearted.

I frequent hearthpwn every now and then too, its like going through a zoo exhibit. I have no idea there were others here that share my secret hobby.

  • How do you beat Shadowisles Kamikazee?

Kalista definitely has a lot of upside potential once leveled and attacking, but she's fairly vulnerable otherwise.  Single Combat, Get Excited!, Thermo Beam Whirling Death, and roughly half the challengers take care of her nicely.

  • Earn 2 Free Ashes of Outland Packs Through Twitch Drops Next Week During the Hearthstone Inn-vitational

Good news and not only for pack drops. To me the most important point is we're getting competitive HS on twitch again. The switch on YouTube is currently a failure : nobody watched the master tour and the grand masters are not even broadcasted anywhere.

You got to go to YayTears to have results and see that Muzzy beat Monsanto 3-2 in what was probably a cool match with high level plays, but we'll never know, just like we'll never know how good was the match between Swidz and Bunnyhoppor... (Swidz won, fyi)

What is the point of organizing esport in 2020 if nobody can see it?

This INNvitationnal on the other hand has some good players, we'll probably see some cool plays and enjoy high level HS.

  • Why the Hearthstone Animations Have Stepped Up a Notch Recently

I still wish Rolling Fireball got a more unique animation. Like, have the fireball fall from the sky and then actually roll to adjacent minions, rather than just the vanilla fireball effect bouncing back and forth

Always nice to see more tournaments from hearthstone. Its been kinda barren these last 2 years. There used to be a time where you can watch hearthstone tournaments every 2 weeks or something.

  • Blizzard Believes Sacrificial Pact is Not Fun - Looking at Potential Changes to It and More Cards in Hearthstone's Standard Format

Don't forget about Pure Paladin and All Spells Mage.

I think the issue is that the card just has too little downside for being a tech card. When you put a tech in your deck, you should have to balance the drawback of playing a weaker than average card sometimes for the payoff of playing a stronger than average card in other games. Albatross has too little downside to call it really a tech card, since it's a decent minion that has an okay effect even against decks that it doesn't specifically counter.

    Five Pages. FIVE!

    This is getting bigger.

    My Ideas:

What does Crystal Giant mean? Without an explanation of what you mean by "sustained damage" there is really no way of knowing how this card works. Does it need you to simply take exactly 8 damage? Or does it mean you have to have your armor soak up exactly 8 damage? OR does it mean you have to use "prevent damage" things to save your hero from taking exactly 8 damage? It is too confusing, you should either reword it so that it actually makes sense, or think of something else.

Drakkari Savage is a pretty cool card, I like how it gains health when it takes damage. This makes it a lot more playable than most "whenever this takes damage" minions. I definitely think this is the better card. It is creative enough, but also simple and down-to-earth.

    Nice! Good job! :-)

The only issue is (probably same as you) that you don't have enough spare dust to craft all missing legendaries. I guess that's just how it is :-/

  • TAUNT, INSECT! - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

    Five Pages. FIVE!

    This is getting bigger.

    My Ideas:

Anyway, feedback! (Sorry if I missed anyone, I've tried to capture anyone who hasn't submitted.)

anchorm4n - Annoy-o-MAX - First off, I kind of feel like Paladin hi-jacked the Annoy-o-tron set. Not a huge issue, but between the Sir Annoy-o, Annoy-o-Module and Divine Shield, it feels like a Paladin minion. Now, as for strength, I don't have an issue with 3 7/7s for 9, with a Highlander Requirement. The issue I have is Divine Shield. It doesn't feel like a Warrior minion, and it's too powerful with the shields. I would suggest reskinning the idea, and it just being 7/7 Taunt x 3, which is huge, but not gamebreaking. It compares quite nicely to Dragonqueen.

Thepowrofcheese - Bone Armor - This could get scary a year later with Infested Goblin, with 2 of those alone providing +18 Armor. Treating it in isolation, it's fine, stalling long enough to get the quest complete and start blasting with Die! Insect.

Thepowrofcheese - Lord Marrowgar - Much Flavour. Much Wow. Lord Marrowgar is an iconic character, and deserves a collectable card. I'm not convinced this is it though. I would expect more of an offensive flavour, with a whirlwind-esqe effect. It's not bad, but if you attach an iconic character, it should have some link to it's signature ability. TLDR - Needs more BONESTORM!

Zeratia - Primal Awakening - Doesn't qualify. Also feels a bit weird.

Wailor - Thaurissan's Guard - I miss the less than 12 Mechanic. This card makes me feel warm and gooey. I like it.

Wailor - Ironmelt Guardian - The issue I have here, is that random summon mechanics exist. What happens if Mage or Priest get this card? Is the target random? I feel like it should state that, which, in the context of the class, is irrelevant, which is weird. It's nothing against the card as such, but it's an issue.

Wailor - Dragon Turtle - Now this I like. In wild, it makes cards like Bring it On that much more tempting, summoning a 3/15 and gaining 10 armor, but discounting the opponent's hand. This or Thaurissan's Guard are my preferences personally.

Nirast - Replicating Challenger- I feel this would be more set flavour wise if it summoned copies, rather than added cards to hand. As it is, a 2/4 3 mana taunt is a bit on the weak side, and could easily be a 3/4.

Basilanguis - Icecrown Nullifier - I feel like this could be confusing. In fact, I typed up a review about this being a bit plain, before realising my mistake. A nice idea, but a little confusing all the same.

h0lysatan - Rage Shield - A worse, more limited Val'anyr. It feels a bit weird using a shield as an offensive weapon, only for a friendly minion to pick it up, use it, and then give it back to you....repaired? Mechanic-wise it works, flavour, it feels a bit odd.

  • Playing Ashes of Outland on a Budget? Check Out These 5 Decks You Must Try!

Tars, the french pro player, made a vid on his YouTube channel with a deck that cost 0 dust : only basic and initiate cards you don't even need to bu a single pack.

In his vid he's playing it a 1k legend or so, so it's decent.

  • Hearthstone Class Identity is Constantly Evolving - Card Draw to Be More Universal

This well encompasses my frustrations with Shaman at the moment. There are powerful combos available - single and board evolve effects, Galakrond, battlecries and the quest, 2.5 powerful board clears, Murloc refill, totem synergies, Vessina, Doomhammer and Rockbiter Weapon, but a lack of card draw or generation disallows reliably powerful decks. Most of the games I play with Shaman are lost because I run out of cards.

It's frustrating, because there are plenty of powerful synergies available. Underbelly Angler and a 1-cost Murloc on a later turn can be magnificent. Desert Hare into Boggspine Knuckles is shocker. The Fist of Ra-den into Earthquake is a solid krunkin'. An evolve effect on Mogu Fleshshaper can be a spawn-killer. There are four spells that can deal direct face damage. With Corrupt the Waters complete, a single EVIL Cable Rat can spawn board clears, evolves, face damage, taunts, or legendary dragons. And as always, the ideal Doomhammer can deal 16 damage in a turn and a solid Bloodlust can pump out even more.

None of those come to fruition, though. Tempo Demon Hunter, Face Hunter, Galakrond Warlock, and Quest Hunter can out-draw you, Spell Druid has more consistently powerful swing turns (made possible by draw), and Galakrond Rogue, Mages, and Resurrect Priest out-value you. To be on a level playing field with those decks, Thrall needs to take a page from these classes, either with card draw - the extant Far Sight and Mana Tide Totem are both awkward, usually replacement draws -; more card generation - Sludge Slurper, EVIL Totem, Underbelly Angler, Marshspawn, and Swampqueen Hagatha are the only generative cards available -; or more effects on a stick - all of Shaman's powerful clears hit the whole board, which, barring having the The Fist of Ra-den, makes it difficult to take back tempo in a single turn; Mage and Warlock, for instance, have no problem clearing or freezing a board while advancing a gameplan.

You're perpetually roleplaying as a boxer who has less stamina and has to win the match before too many rounds pass. You've got a few great punches, but for some reason, they don't always show up when they should?

Anyway, rant over. Such are the thoughts of any player trying to deckbuild with a weaker class. If you're entering in any card design competitions, for the elements' sake, create a generative Elemental, a powerful draw effect, a clear-on-a-stick, or something similar; Shaman players will vote for you, if only from desperation.

I dont know much about wow characters but i would love it if they made more different/original heroes like sir annoyo and that one tree that gives everyone nightmares. So i hope it will be something like Sherazin Corpseflower
