elusive is un-interactive and boring, and everyone knows it. also shadow assassin would be fine as a 3 mana 2/2 that draws a card. u have added elusive to it as if elusive is worth 0 mana. are you stupid? are you insane? fix this garbage... thx
Okay, I must admit that I didn't know Bolster was a thing. My furst try was way too similar to this, so I tried to come up with something new. I'm actually pretty happy with this one. It's flexible, it does something on play, it helps finishing the quest and isn't useless once we did so. What do you think about this:
I like the card, but the watermark is an unusual choice for two reasons:
The flavor is off with the rest of the expansion.
I Know a Guy existed at the time, in the expansion literally right before Un'Goro.
If you moved it to Saviors of Ulduum, I don't think anyone would begrudge the power creep. Although you are basically doing what you did with Bolster originally...
Also: you totally skipped right over me on the first page lol :P
Thanks for your help! Obviously, I had not thought of I Know a Guy either when I created my second attempt. Sigh. I'm close to give up on coming up with something original and just submit this.
Also sorry for overlooking your post! I'm torn between Annoy-O-Giant and Against the Wall. But the latter is more creative so I guess that's the better choice.
I agree I think in most cases people won't flip maokai.. but it's an ok failsafe if the game goes for REALLY long for some reason and you happen to toss too many cards.
the thing is that it probably takes about 2 rturns to regain the tempo loss of playing a 4 mana do nothing.. Heimerdinger is faster in the regard you can recover tempo faster.
I had a couple of ideas based around Taunt and hero powers, to synergise with both the Quest and Reward of Fire Plume's Heart. The first is also useful for other Warrior archetypes, the other not so much, but could lead to some fun DIE INSECT! combos.

At the moment I am leaning towards the latter. Which do you guys prefer?
I prefer Sulfuron Firesmith. Couple of things though. First, it should say "Your Hero Power triggers twice." Power shouldn't be plural as you can only have 1 hero power active at a time. Second, I think this effect is way too powerful at 3 mana. You can achieve this same effect with Waterboy and Garrison Commander for 4 mana. Not to mention if you combo this with Garrison Commander, that's 32 damage for 9 mana. (and it's Ragnaros' attack, so you know they will all go face!). I think it might be better to try for 5 mana. Maybe 5/2/7?
Yeah, that version of the text does sound better. In my head, I was thinking about the multiple hero powers you can have over time, but that doesn't really make sense.
I don't think comparing the cost to Garrison Commander + Waterboy is exactly fair, considering a) both of those cards were very weak, so making a stronger version isn't necessarily bad, and b) they are both neutral and therefore have to consider the vastly more abuse-able hero powers of other classes. That said, I do see the issues with it being combined with Garrison Commander (as awesome as that finisher sounds), so I'd rather increase the costs and bring the stats in line. 5 mana sounds fair, because then the combo you described costs 11 mana, which means super keen memers can still play it with Emperor Thaurissan, or coin-generators like Licensed Adventurer. If you go that hard on a combo, I think you deserve the 32 damage lol.
I see Darius getting buffed significantly or his function changed.. I mean he is already outclassed by other 6 cost champions like Hecarim and Sejuani at base level Darius is just a worse version of both of them and his level up just isn't exciting compared to other champions.. they all cost 6 but Darius just has worse statline and he is normally easily stunned/frozen/removed at the stage he is played in.
Saw swim just outright replacing him with Draven and I agree Darius is too much all in and TBH his level up is just a 10/5 with overwhelm.. in freljord you can get a baseline 7/6 with overwhelm and that card doesn't see play.. I think Darius is a bait card currently.
Damn, 6 was kinda stupid for me, cause im 99% sure i checked the place where it actually is before and then i was looking everywhere else. Oh well, i got it at last!

its weird to see shaman not having a control archetype listed in the meta report because with the new AoO cards definitely push for that archetype mainly because of its 2 legendaries [Hearthstone Card (Lurker Below) Not Found] and Lady Vashj and control could also take a few cards from spell shaman and turn them into control elements like Shattered Rumbler providing more AOE to the deck
im saying this becuase since day 1 ive been playing my own control shaman and ill put the deck here

Leave my favorite class alone. Yes he goes face, yes he doesn't give a shit about your taunts. That's what that class is all about.
and he also heals better than Warlock with more burst than Hunter and better card draw then Rogue. If it wasn't for the fact that he can't kill big minions early on he'd have no weaknesses whatsoever
But he has the greatest weakness of all the classes, lack of card generation! ;)
...just so we are clear, that was sarcasm.
the fact that card generation is listed as their weakness proves that the devs think RNG is an actual asset to a class.

the draw ability is just nuts. priestess of fury is not even included in the most aggro versions. not even the anteon or whatever its its name. now we know why they HOF leeroy.
hey Linkblade, you play quest taunt warrior in wild right? Where does the deck usually fall apart? What does the deck need?
As for what the deck needs....I legitimately have no idea. More armor-gain would always be appreciated, but that doesn't necessarily save you from Wild's heavy hitters. I'll have to think about it some more and come back to you.
Warrior could use some big armor cards. The new Prime card is actually one of the best armor gain cards they've released for warrior. It'd be nice to see some stuff comparable to druid armor gain like Ferocious Howl, Branching Paths, Oaken Summons. As it stands, druid's can withstand quest mage because of the armor gain, and they can (sometimes) withstand Darkest Hour because of Poison Seeds being a very cheap board clear.
My other thought was some boardfill/ressurection mechanic. Some way to refill a board quickly by spending 9 or 10 mana. Its a shame that Warrior just doesn't get the tools for competitive control decks in wild.
Yeah, a Hadronox for the Warrior would be very much appreciated. I can't think of a better answer to your question; sorry :( I wish I knew the secret, because presumably that would be this week's winning card haha
Not 3 copies, just twice the same champion and yes in hand. But to manage twice the same champion in hand well you need at least two of the same in your deck at start. And not that optimistic if you consider a champion tutor card exist already and that without extra draw on turn 10 a deck with 2 triple champions set you have roughly 42% chance to have twice of one or another.
Also if you toss actively with maokai , you make yourself more likely to draw champion card. and if you toss fast it probably mean you are actually tossing your removal out of your deck too . (since playing creature = toss and spells don't).
All that just to say that even if dream toss maokai exist you still can see it coming and prepare eventually to still play the long run game without constructing around.
In conclusion popping a 2-1 challenger each turn and thinning the deck to draw champions could be more powerful than the level up effect in itself and in that regard that would make maokai a not a control deck but a mid range combo one.
I've been trying to work on that for years now, striking a balance between what I like and what other people will vote for. It's certainly a struggle D:

Just swiped all units in and clicked ok? Or carefully misplaced them one by one :D ?
Sometimes having him attack first is the correct thing but if you're aiming for upgrading him during attack, then it's not ideal.
