I think Kayn is the weakest card of the deck really. It only helps against Mech Paladin and Aggro Warrior versions a lot, but other than those, it's not great. I also was thinking of removing him, but I'm keeping him only because of his good stats. I would replace him with another copy of Hench-Clan Thug or one Satyr Overseer. One copy of Vicious Fledgling would also not be bad actually. Yeah, I will also try Fledgling and maybe i also replace it.
Edit: Kayne and Hench-Clan get replaced by 2x Dragonhawk Riders
I'm curious how strong floating 3 mana into the sixth round will be? Imagine having two or three scout units. Dropping Cithria the Bold on Turn Six, attacking with everything to give your scout units Fearsome and +1/+1. Then playing Relentless Pursuit, then attacking with scouts, then attacking with scouts and triggering a Cithria again. You can seriously put out a beating quite quickly if control decks aren't prepared.
Mandatory I don't think so especially with them foregoing safety precautions in a rush to get it out. There is a reason why we don't do certain vaccines anymore and that reason is major side affects. All medicine has a risk reward aspect. I am hopeful the plasma and cloroquine(sp) will show they are very helpful in fighting the disease. Big pharma is doing it's best to shade the effectiveness of these treatments because there is not as much money to be gained. Also in California a test to show if you are immune is coming out. There is evidence pointing to the fact a high population is naturally immune. Making a mandatory vaccine is a boon to big pharma and may not be necessary if other treatments work. It's amazing how you would be so willing to give up your rights for something that maybe entirely unnecessary.
Got any suggestions for replacing Kayn Sunfury? I was loving my Odd DH until the nerfs and now I am faced perpetually with a lot of fails and I am hesitant to craft a legendary this soon after a release.
Maybe try to use brains and counter it before whining. Trust me, it's more effective.
Finnaly someone with brains yeah i am also not a fan of DH but i am even more not a fan of is a nerf after just a expansion is out I thinkt they do it to fast and if they waited the counter would be there its a new class ofcourse most people play it
Usually I feel the same way, but way too often I've been highrolled by an early Antean followed by the shivara, or vice versa. The only "counter" to that is either play a high pressure deck, or throw your resources away to usually just die on the board so that your hero doesn't die.
That really wasn't a great counter during the midrange turns of the game. Making it slightly slower/more awkward to slam down with little consideration should give more opportunities for real counter play.
it was 1 day ofcourse there was not yet a good counter that take some time and especialy now because its a new class so a lot of people wanna try that as much as possible i am sure if they waited 2 weeks at least there would be more counters to it and if not you can always nerf then but doing it 1 day after a release thats just proof how bad the testing team is of hs
My opening on the NA server was also horrible, 2 legendaries in 55 packs, guess this makes up for the previous expansion, where I got 6 legendaries in 55 packs xd
I want to preface this with I've never really commented on these threads before (yes I have cam here to read peoples complaints I don't really get angry at card games I've been playing them my whole life ) but in the last 48 hours I have gone from happy to extremely tilted, I liken this to Kibler getting annoyed by crystal core (before it was nerfed) but after getting tilted and thus having a bottle Pepsi spilt over me because of my being tilted I need to calm down and put my thoughts out into the ether.
I've been playing since the beta. I never hit legend just due to not having a lot of time in my days but with the quarantine, I had a lot more time on my hands I made the push to diamond 5 before the expansion and was soo happy that I could make the journey with plenty of time but seeing the way demon hunter has torn through the meta both before & after the "nerfs" has not given me a lot of faith in their competence as a team. ( how did that class make it through testing in the first place?)
Skull of Gul'dan should be a 6 mana legendary - it's too easy for demon hunters to manipulate their hand with cheap cards to shift this card around. you are incentivised to play cards even if there isn't a need to e.g. playing a zephrys in the early game. just so you get the cost reduction.
Altruis the outcast should not be able to hit face and maybe should be bumped up to 4 mana - demon hunters have a lot of cheap cards that a lot of times can cause 3-6 in a single turn thus wiping your bord and dealing face damage as well putting you in an increasingly tight situation especially if you can't deal with it.
Battlefiend should be a 1/2 (i mean it's a better mana worm and mana worm got nerfed due to the fact that mage had cheap removal and ways to control the board in the early game)
Twin Slice, in my opinion, is a big offender the fact that it's 0 mana and allows cards like Altruis to deal 2 damage to you and your board or because of how it allows you to manipulate your hand for Skull of Gul'dan or even the most ridiculous one of all being a 20+ damage combo with kael'thas.
Priestess of fury should not be 7 mana or it should be a legendary minion that can only minions, imprisoned antean was a 5 mana (now 6 mana) 10/6 that you had to wait for 2 turns for the delayed reward of damage randomly split but the card has a much better stat line and can just be played to deal 6 to the opponents face all they have done is move up the clock one turn and change the order instead of antaen turn 5, turn 6 wait (or play a second one) then turn 7 antaen wakes then play priestess for 16 damage spread across all enemies, it's just antaen, then priestess for 6 damage then antaen wakes for an additional 10 and if by then you haven't dealt with the priestess it's even more backbreaking. (I mean Ragnaros is a legendary minion that can attack)
I think this post from Reddit sums it up pretty well. demon hunter is a jack of all trades and a master of all I can understand these cards over multiple expansions but not all in one and thus people are more incentivised to play this class above all others.
note for something from me personally:
hitting legend was the last big thing for me to do in this game but because of this meta where you basically have to tech against the most egregious aggressive class and if you don't face them you just outright lose to some others it's been tilting me more than usual and even when I take a break for a few hours I come back and nothing changed. I had thought about moving over to mtg arena as I've loved MTG since I was a kid and putting hearthstone on the back burner and just logging in periodically after I hit legend but after this, I might end up doing it sooner than I thought if the class isn't more balanced, for my sanity if for nothing else. anyway, I hope anyone who reads this has a great day. stay safe and (don't forget to wash your hands)
I’ve changed my original idea slightly to make it stronger but harder to cheat out (sorry Oaken Summons). Certain classes can still cheat it out if they devote their deck to it.
Ive also got a new idea: a big beefy Taunt that won’t save you if you are facing down Agro. Though I’m not sure if that would be enough of a downside for including in this comp.
Edit - upon further review, I think the Myrmidon is cool but not a good fit for this contest. Also to would probably be better as a smaller minion. I’ll submit Gurtogg
So I just played a game where I levelled my Heimerdinger by creating two copies of one of my turrets using Dawn and Dusk. However, I think because my Heimerdinger levelled up before triggering his effect (i.e. creating a turret in hand), he did not create a turret after the spell was resolved. Has anyone experienced anything similar to this?
It’s not mine, I found it online while looking through DH and Warlock deck builds to try and make a good Highlander Hunter deck, which in the end didn’t work out. I got 100% winrate with it against anything except Druid, DH and Rogue. Rogue is still an extremely favorable matchup (80 or 90%), while Big Druid and DH were about even (double pact helps a lot for the latter and gives you free wins against any other Warlock decks).

yeah, I don't think it's good. The meta right now is really aggro. Vulpera is a bit slow, wouldn' recommend.. oh and tell me how it goes!

Demon hunters = Hunters (already annoying as they are) on steroids. More nerfs please, grrr
Dragon Priest (ANTI DEMON HUNTER) 77% WR
Deck is absolute trash. Beats everything BUT Demon Hunter.
