  • Try new Wild Even Warlock

Don't know why, but I keep winning with this deck (r3/r2). My score with other Wild decks is so-so, with ups and downs, usually average, especially with more complex non-aggro decks, because of how unstable the format is. But with Even Warlock it's surprisingly going really good. My Wild (and HS in general) involvement is average, which means I'm not playing it like crazy all day and night, so this appraisal is coming from a small sample size - of c. 35 games = c. 70% winrate. Am i good with the deck or it's really viable on its own, not sure, but the fact is I'm winning a lot, especially in comparison with other seemingly better decks.

I removed Zzeraku the Warped and replaced it with another Abyssal Summoner. The card is so good as it provides one more layer of continuous pressure. It seems, 4 dragons in a fast cycle deck is enough for activation of Nether Breaths. Not sure, why I'm still running the 2nd Hellfire. Even the 1st one is seldom used. We can replace it with Shroom Brewer or Acidic Swamp Ooze.

No matchup I've found too problematic or unwinnable. The hardest one is, of course, Secret Mage, but I won c. 40% of the games (!), which is nuts if we take into consideration Secret Mage was the reason why Even Warlock disappeared from Wild. Plus, their numbers are reduced, I might say for 10% of the meta, if not more.

I've seen Reno / Quest Mages much more and this is good. They can win only by completing the Quest very fast, otherwise they struggle to find solutions for your threats. Aggro decks (Pirate Warrior, Rogues...) are very good matchups, you lose these only if you become too cocky and greedy. More they hit you, better for you. I lost only once to Mech Paladin, because of a misplay. Cube Warlock can be tricky, which means 50-50, but I got wins even here. In these two matchups, silence is quite important + Zihi in the latter. ...Generally, everything seems winnable or under your control... Even Shamans, Jade Druids, Big Priests, Mecha'thun Warlocks, you name it. Even if you struggle vs. Secret Mage, it's not a big deal.

That's it. Just wanted to advertise this deck a bit more.

They will not be craftable until the Adventure moves to Wild, a year and some change from now. If you want to play these cards in Standard, you will need the Adventure.

  • New Shaman Spell - Eye of the Storm

10-cost 15/18 with Taunt. Druid looks on with envy while holding an Ultimate Infestation.

  • New Druid Minion - Winged Guardian

    Taunt Druid 7-cost 12/9 can't be targeted.

    Infuriating.

  • Four New Card Revealed From Galakrond's Awakening, Including a Familiar Face!

The card art makes this more convincing than it should be.

  • New Warlock Minion - Chaos Gazer

    Random or Fortunetelling Warlock?

    If Random it's still good.

  • New Paladin Minion - Shotbot

    2-cost 4/3? And a mech too. Fantastic.

  • New Neutral Minion - Sky Gen'ral Kragg

Captain my Captain...I'M really not sure how to use you.

Granted, it'S a pretty strong play in any quest deck and my Quest HUnter will definitely try running it...but it really isn't all that flashy.

There aren'T really a lot of Quest decks at the moment, are there?

Agree!! I think it will bump out hallazi (for me at least, because I don't want to craft it but I'll happily craft this!)

  • Out of Cards Reviews - Galakrond's Awakening #1

I would really prefer that we get to just craft them rather than buy the whole set. Even if its extra dust per card, its still an alternative to $20. 700 gold is just way too much to ask per wing.

Will these cards be craftable without paying for the adventure?

  • Aggro Hunter cards.

Re: 'does aggro mean a lack of skill', it absolutely does not. It's a statement you'll hear a lot, though, and usually from 'Control' players who don't actually know what Control means, and who lose every game to aggro while refusing to include anti-aggro techs. Just one of the usual excuses people make for things they don't know how to handle.

Aggro vs aggro can be quite skill-testing, but people who never play aggro don't experience those match-ups. Aggro vs control often boils down to who draws better, since even if the control deck has anti-aggro tools, it needs to find them very quickly. There is a limit to how much anti-aggro tech you can run before you become powerless against greedier control decks.

Another question. If I were to take Aggro Hunter to Wild, what cards should I add that isn't Baku the Mooneater? Is Bad Luck Albatross a good inclusion since Reno Jackson is in that mode?

You're probably better off trying to kill your opponent before they draw Reno or are able to play him.

I agree bullshit, but I also could see it being real just because of Eye of the Storm.

  • A Custom Fix for the Priest's Basic and Classic Sets

Nobody flip at me, but what if Priest had a Resurrect-type card in Classic/Basic? It's one of Priest's defining core mechanics, and it has to keep getting bumped along by expansions.

I'm not talking about something like Mass Res or even actual Res being around forever. Something like a re-flavoured Onyx Bishop would be perfect. It's a bad card for Big Priest since it comes out quite late and has a crappy body, and doesn't have anywhere near the highroll potential of [Hearthstone Card (Pyschopomp) Not Found]. However, it really communicates that aspect of the class.

  • Out of Cards Reviews - Galakrond's Awakening #1

All these cards have potential to alter a bit or a lot the meta, and that makes me so happy! Can't wait for this adventure to drop, definitely missed this way of getting cards!

  • Reward Even Though I Lost + Gold Donut?

As far as I know, when two players get knocked out in the same round, they share the same place. But Hearthstone isn't capable of visualizing that. So you and the other player tied for 4th place, which counts as a win.

  • Four New Card Revealed From Galakrond's Awakening, Including a Familiar Face!

Dragon's Pack isn't the best comparison, since that's a pay-off card for invoking and even with that restriction, the original version was so powerful it got nerfed. I think Rain of Toads is a better comparison and that card saw a bit of play. This is even more late game, but gives you enough stats to also have some offensive value. Still, 10 mana is a lot; I could only imagine this going into a highlander control shaman as a one-of.

Kragg should be good in Quest Shaman, since it either advances your quest or gives you the option of an additional 4/2 rush for 2 mana. I don't think every quest deck would play it, but I'll give it a try in Shaman, Rogue and Hunter for sure.

Chump was playing an Elemental Aggro Mage deck recently that Arcane Amplifier might fit into.

While I was initially positive, I'm starting to develop doubts about Rising Winds. Branching Paths was often used for drawing cards, but when it wasn't, the alternatives were very strong: picking armor could help you survive versus aggro or avoid getting OTK-ed, while picking attack could clear the board or add up to lethal damage. Compared to that, a 3/2 Eagle does nothing the turn it is summoned and doesn't do much late game either. Also 3/2 are not great stats for the current meta.

  • A Custom Fix for the Priest's Basic and Classic Sets

Kinda sure I saw undamaged character instead of undamaged friendly character.

Oh well, guess I made a mistake :p

  • Out of Cards Reviews - Galakrond's Awakening #1

    Pro

Glad I'm not the only one who misses the old adventure style. I wish we could go back to the adventure/expansion alternating they used to do. Game has gotten more expensive to keep up with. But they also give out a lot more free stuff.

Anyway, SO excited for this content!

  • Noob incoming !

For what it's worth, there are 20+ cards getting patched, and until we see those patch notes, it will be hard to assert that any previous strategy/champion is good/competitive.

  • Aggro Hunter cards.

Another question. If I were to take Aggro Hunter to Wild, what cards should I add that isn't Baku the Mooneater? Is Bad Luck Albatross a good inclusion since Reno Jackson is in that mode?

  • New Neutral Minion - Sky Gen'ral Kragg

It looks kind of weird, but still should be strong. Odd to see a more control pirate though, usually don’t expect something like that. Could work nicely with Ancharr, though I’m not sure if the nerf killed off that card or not

  • Noob incoming !

Karma is actually so good that a few streamers speculated that she might see the nerf bat before open beta. (I wouldn't go that far, but I do think it's a great card.)

Jinx is powerful, but she requires a fairly specific build because emptying your hand at the right moment is not as easy as you might think. Great fun to play, but not terribly flexible in terms of archetype.

  • New Shaman Spell - Eye of the Storm

Rain of Toads never really felt too bad to use, so this could be decent. The problem though is, is decent good enough? The answer’s probably no sadly

  • New Mage Minion - Arcane Amplifier

I haven't played Hearthstone in quite some time but a 2/5 for 3-mana is going to be a real challenge to deal with, and the effect is self-supporting.  Seems like quite a strong card.

  • New Mage Minion - Arcane Amplifier

Awkward to deal with with that much health, and it’s can help with clearing stuff out if you wait for the hero power. Dunno if that’s gonna be enough to see play though
