So I just played Quest Hunter and encountered a very peculiar (in my opinion) inconsistency:
Leeroy Jenkins accounts for 1 summon, though stating 'summon 2 minions for your opponent'
Any cards your opponent plays, that summon minions for you, count towards your Quest
My question is WHY?
Apparently 'summon' is NOT dependent on the actual player summoning minions (otherwise the opponent summoning minoins shouldn't count) but 'players' (?) summoning minions?
There's a difference between even a full face hunter deck, and a mindless SMOrc deck. A lot of the people on ladder play the deck like the latter, certainly, but the only reason to build towards that path is if you simply don't have the cards to build a stronger list.
- Spellzerker is for Rapid Fire first and foremost, as AliRadicali suggests above. It also has a little more relevance in the later stages of the game because these hunter decks expect to lose the board at some point - and any juggles hitting minions are worthless to you at that point (and arguably even earlier given your game-plan).
- Animal Companion wins out over Wolfrider because while the deck expects to lose the board at some point, there's no reason to just throw away all board pressure on turn 3 without really being pushed to do so. Note that with Dwarven Sharpshooter and Phase Stalker in these decks you have strong early-game board potential, and remember that controlling the board adds up to more damage over time than just throwing everything at face from turn 1.
- I may be wrong (I haven't spent a lot of time on Hunter stats lately), but my assumption is that Timber Wolf is a two-of because Unleash is often your win condition. You want to be able to reliably burst out after losing board. Specifically in that circumstance, it's doubling your Unleash damage for only 1 additional mana outlay. There may be other benefits I'm not seeing because I don't have the deck in front of me right now.
- EDIT: Didn't see the Bomb Toss question. My answer is I have no idea, other than maybe an alternate late-game plan trying to set up a big Spellzerker turn. It's absolutely not something I'd run, personally, unless I was teching against Mage specifically.
- It's important to recognise that this deck is not a mindless SMOrc deck - and in fact, such decks don't really exist outside of budget ladder-grind decks. Your early game should absolutely be about early board, and getting out Dwarven Sharpshooter and Phase Hunter. Midgame is about minimizing what you have to let through on board while pushing more damage. Late game - which for this deck means around turn 7 or 8 - is where you accept the board is lost and make a push to set up lethal. Accept the loss of board to activate a big Wolf-Unleash and push through everything you can. Knowing when to trade and when to push is a fundamental skill of any aggro deck, and in spite of what memes will tell you, 'always face' is not an acceptable answer.
no offense, but stop circlejerking over how face HUnter is "not as braindead as the plebs would have you believe)
The deck is simple and to the point. You push as much face damage as fast as you can. Board only matters if it threatens your life or can heal your opponent. Dwarven Sharpshooter is only ever used against minions to stop your opponent from value trading so you get more face damage in.
Every deck needs piloting to some extent, you're not special. the deck is literally 80% direct damage, it's as straight aggro as it gets.
If you're playing Face Hunter for the board then you're probably losing more games than you have to. You don#t win by having the board, you win by your opponent not having enough to kill you before you finish him off.
There are a substantial number of decks in the meta that can easily steamroll Face Hunter if you don't play for the board in the early game. Zoo Warlock, Galakrond Warrior, Mech Paladin, Token Druid, Pirate Warrior, etc. The deck is a lot more skill-testing than some would think.
Alright, so I'm actually on my 4th region review, now! Ionia is definitely pretty strong compared to the Noxus post I had posted last week considering they have tools like 'Deny'. BUT....do you guys think Deny is overrated!? Personally, I think it is due to it not being about to counter burst spells.
I do have another video up that specifically addresses Deny, but it is also mentioned in this Ionia review. Let me know what you think! =)
ALSO - PS - There is supposedly news coming up on Sunday (possibly later) and I mention that in this video as well. So if you want to know more about that then here ya' go!
I think it would be smart to look at the Zoo lists from Classic, since that is basically what you're trying to build here. Priestess of Elune is a terrible card that should never be ran in any deck, I suggest changing it to Young Priestess instead.
Nice deck, but I have a few questions about it. What exactly do you want to hit with Expired Merchant? Valdris Felgorge, Kronx Dragonhoof? Also Flame Imp seems weird in this list, seeing as how it's not an aggressive list besides it. Maybe replace it with Elven Archer, Dragon Egg or [Hearthstone Card (Cheeky Anklebiter) Not Found]? Also is there any reason why you chose to use Evasive Feywing over other dragon cards, and why you include Abyssal Summoner but not Mountain Giant or Twilight Drake? I would be very interested in reading a guide on this deck.
So I've been trying to get all of the different classes up to 500 wins. I've never been good at making my own deck so I thought I would try and get some help from you folks.
Right now I need Druid (Currently 223 Wins), Priest (Currently 183 Wins), Warrior (Currently 151 Wins), and Warlock (Currently 97 Wins). I went into DOD expecting to play a lot of Warrior which I did at first but it then have tried playing Druid and Priest mostly. I'm having trouble finding a deck that I find fun to play first of all. While the goal is to get to 500 wins I don't care too much about ranking up. In Standard i'm at rank 15 and Wild i'm rank 9 with 3 stars.
I played the resurrect Priest a little but I don't really like the resurrect mechanic, it feels slimy to me. So I found a Galkrond Priest and that was fun but I couldn't win enough with it. I've played Galakrond Warrior and a little Pirate Warrior along with a couple different Treant Druid's and only dabbled with a Zoo Warlock deck. I know some of these are the top decks for their classes but i'm hoping someone may offer a suggestion for something a little different even in Wild or help creating a decent deck.
Can't exactly say how good or bad this card is. It seems very average - probably decent enough for Arena, but it seems to kind of have no place in Standard if included in your deck. Sure, you could argue Combo Priest would include this, as it gives a pretty high Health minion, but I don't find anything worth replacing in that deck for this card. Maybe as a one-of, and maybe once cards like Bwonsamdi, the Dead rotate.
Of course, I could be wrong. This could be aswell used in a little more mid-range version of Combo Priest where they do not have tons of 1-drops to draw with Bwonsamdi - in such case, I could see this card being more playable.
We have quite an interesting 2-drop collection for Standard right now. You can either snowball so hard with Millhouse Manastorm and Injured Tol'vir, secure the Health bonus with Cloakscale Chemist or make a Deathrattle minion like EVIL Conscripter feel like Carrion Grub. With new 2-drops on the horizon, this could be either better or worse. But I'd say the current pool is fine, just not good enough to make this broken to include in your deck.
I have to wonder because the text does not specify, does it mean any 2 drop minion or just neutrals? Cause this could swing any which way imagine-able if it's any 2 drop minion.
I hope this clears it up for this and any future unspecified discover cards.
Nope. People are going to keep asking the same stupid questions over and over XD

A discover with an unspecified class always takes from neutrals and the class of the person playing it. So this will offer priest and neutral 2-drops if you put it in a deck, but if a rogue burgles it it will offer from rogue and neutral instead.
The only special cases I know of with unspecified class discovers are with secrets, because there are no neutral secrets so if you play a 'discover a secret' card you either get offers from your own class if it has secrets, or from the class of the card you played otherwise. E.g. rogue playing Secret Plan will be offered hunter secrets in Standard, but rogue secrets in Wild.
I hope this clears it up for this and any future unspecified discover cards.
I just had two matches against Highlander Rogue today where I had them close to lethal, only for them to get a damn Nozari from Dragonqueen Alexstrasza. The first opponent I had down to 3 health, the second one was at 4. I swear, this game loves to fuck with you sometimes...
I second this salt - Dragonqueen Alexstrasza's text should say "add two LEGENDARY dragons" to be more honest. Most games I see her the opponent gets Kalecgos, Ysera, Unleashed, or some other OP 8/9/10-mana legendary for nothing.
Meanwhile, I've gotten Nozdormu from Dragonqueen Alexstrasza more times than I can count smh

Monsanto's Handlock
The dragon synergy improvement is a huge boon for sure, consistent Crazed Netherwing is essential.
Which region are you most excited to play?
By far Noxus! I really want to mess around with the self-damaging combo's again - the Crimson engine is just so damn fun!
Ionia Region Strength (And is Deny Overrated?)
Alright, so I'm actually on my 4th region review, now! Ionia is definitely pretty strong compared to the Noxus post I had posted last week considering they have tools like 'Deny'. wolf rider is best used to replace life drinker instead of animal companion to make your deck extra aggro.
Dragonmaw Poacher and arena
Ouch, that is a pretty big oversight. Thanks for letting us know, this is a very important piece of information for sure.
PS: Thread moved to Arena.
Having Trouble Finding/Creating A Deck
Thanks! I forgot about Jade Druid. I'll look into that. I tried making my own Dragon Priest but it didn't work out so well so maybe I'll look that up.
Having Trouble Finding/Creating A Deck
For Wild:
Galakrond or Pirate Warrior.
Galakrond Egg Warlock (or Cubelock if you have the cards).
Jade or Token Druid.
Dragon Priest (Midrange or Control).
Drunk Arena
I'm 8-0 atm and the last game I remember, I was 2-0. Anyone else know this experience? :D
PS: Dragon Warrior Archetype
PPS: Had another run where I got 11-0 and finished 11-3 sober...
EDIT: To be fair - I only play Arena when drunk, so these runs were over several days/weeks
Having Trouble Finding/Creating A Deck
If you want a lot of wins in HS you should give up on wanting to play a deck you'll have fun playing.
Duskfallen Aviana
it has hilarious flavor text
Rotationless Zoolock
thanks for the recommendation i have changed the deck

Aggro Hunter cards.
Wolfrider saw play in old school face Hunter, and cards like Worgen Infiltrator and Nightblade were also common options. But I think there are better options in the current metagame, centered more around the Hero Power (Toxic Reinforcements, Dwarven Sharpshooter, Phase Stalker etc) rather then direct face damage.
New Priest Spell - Dark Prophecy
A DS/IF deck might play this. Indeed, it might be pretty reasonable in that deck.
New Warlock Minion - Chaos Gazer
Cute but meh.
It's 100% metagame dependent...and even then, I'm not sure this is a good option.
New Paladin Minion - Shotbot
This is a pretty easily a 4 or 5 star card.
Great effect.
Great mana cost.
Good stats.
Great typing.
This kind of stuff doesn't win you games, but it does so much work in the early game, that it helps you get there.
