I was of the same opinion, especially considering it would be more fitting for a smaller set like this, but Frosty made an astute observation, when patch hits, you would see all the cards in the crafting menu anyway, so it wouldnt be much of a surprise, they would get spoiled in advace either way. I mean obviously, this could be dealt with on Blizzard's side, but that would maybe require a patch on the release date and would bring back old launch day issues, maybe it could be solved some other way, dunno. Guess we will see in the future.
They want to tell a story, so they had to make a compromise imho, also it actually helps players with small collections, so it is more new player friendly.
So I just spendd time to actually look through all the mage spells to determine which ones are actually bad...
only to realize that it casts ANY spell and not just Mage ones.
Well, it's shit then.
Like, even if we assume that your own board will usually be cleared at the start of your turn, leaving you with mostly positive effects on minion-targetting spells, there's still so many ways to shoot your own face, heal your opponent, overdraw or just buff an opponent's minion (or just do nothing at all)
It's just too great a risk and even if on average you don't get fucked over it's terrible game design because every turn your opponent will have to hope that they don't just suddenly lose the game to random Bullshit.
She still can generate dragons that can discover her (like the druid 4/8 taunt or hunter 2/3 poison or the paladin 2/3 lifesteal)
Yes, but you have to pay full mana cost for those. Getting an 8/8, summoning *another* 8/8. You now have 2 x 8/8s and 3 zero-cost dragons in your hand. It has happened to me and it is just such a massive board swing.
I agree with the change. I just read about the card nerfs and my initial though was that this nerf was horrible. How can they make such a rule just for one card? Inconsistent rules will ruin this game in the long run, and on top of that it's poor coding to make such exceptions. I always look at the cards from a coding perspective, and if they were to implement such a rule it should be for all self-generating cards. Then it would make sense.
Changing the text for Dragonqueen Alexstrasza to include 'other' is good. Now they just need to look into this issue for all self-generating cards. I'm sure the community will appreciate it.
Happy new year! Let`s take a look at this list of current top decks:
2 control decks (Priest and Gala-Warlock)
1 combo deck (Maly Rogue)
2 midrange decks (Druid and Handlock)
Let me think... Oh there is no doubt: In 2020 most of the players will still complain about the meta for beeing "too aggro" and "too fast" again. Some things never chance! ^^
Cult master means you wanna cycle hard. If that is so, perhaps wolfrider and 1 reckless rocketeer wouldn't be too much to add in. You can remove earthenring farseer. But I don't think traditional zoo lists runs cult master. Warlock can already draw consistently.
Silverhand knight perhaps too slow. Dark iron dwarf is my pick. I would probably rid young priestess for argent squire for tempo. Argent squire combos very well with abusive and DiD.
Probably remove violet teacher, sprint, questing adventurer and assassin's blade
replace with cold blood, shiv, perditions blade, and sinister strike
Meta will crush you easily around turn 6-8. The win strat with my replacements is to aim for a turn 7 kill. Double cold blood + deckhand = 10 damage + evis would be 14 on turn 7. Opponent can probably guess your strat and place zilliax on 5, perditions blade deal with that so you don't have to waste your miracle hand.
I admire the theme, but perhaps its not too much to try some of the expansion's basic and rare cards. Lets you go further with miracle. I would very much be interested in seeing some stats if you have any
So why should we care that you are an alcoholic? It's your life. Waste it however you see fit.
Lets say OP is an alcoholic for the sake of your statement. Do you really think your comment is constructive? Do you think it is a positive comment that would help someone who is struggling with an addiction? I am gunna go with no.
Just because they played a game drunk does not mean they are an alcoholic. But if they are, I wouldn't jump to insulting them.
Hmn... do I always remain specitcal? Maybe, but I remain slightly optimistic for Reno. I think Mage decks might run him mainly for his mass removal, be it either functioning like Vanish or Plague of Death, but probably the latter, as the usual balance for Hero cards is 2 mana for the Hero Power, 1 mana for 5 Armor and the rest for the Battlecry - this one mentions a Passive HP, so it could account 9 Mana for Plague and 1 for 5 Armor.
Now onto his Hero Power, which amuses me. I understand that having a random spell every turn feels bad, but I'd stll take it, as it provides constant value - arguably better than from Raid the Sky Temple. You just can't underestimate that while RNG will not always bestow hope upon you, you have so many chances to get good rolls and gain an advantage over your opponent.
I'd say this is a pretty good Hero Card who can definitely buy you time and maybe sometimes screw you up, but should be usually a rather good hero throughout the game.
easy or not, I don't like to see a deck 3 games in a row and i am seeing hunter 5 games in a row. I hate intensive popularity. Imo there should be a balance even in popularity.
New Priest Spell - Dark Prophecy
You might discover a doomsayer but you don't have to play it.. As I calculated last page you will get never lucky options only about 13% of the time.

It's for the 15 damage TTK with Leeroy Jenkins, double Soulfire and Elven Archer after you play Alexstrasza. I prefer running Malygos and Zzeraku the Warped instead of the archers and Sunfury Protector instead of Leeroy, the combo is too clunky for me.
New Mage Hero - The Amazing Reno
So.....a random spell at the sstart of your turn.
So I just spendd time to actually look through all the mage spells to determine which ones are actually bad...

Go for Highlander decks, you're not gonna be sorry.
Card Nerf - Dragonqueen Alexstrasza
What i dont like about this change is how awkward and technically inaccurate the wording is now. But nothing is perfect i guess :)
Post-Nerf Decks to Start the Decade Off Strong
A Meta deck with Elven Archer. Am I high?
Card Nerf - Dragonqueen Alexstrasza

5 8-9 mana cost dragons in one turn is a winner.
New Mage Hero - The Amazing Reno
Well, a Control deck focused around spells, or a Combo deck can afford losing their own board, AND the risk of a random spell each turn.
In any other case (ie. Dragon and probably Highlander too), this card sounds just not worth the risk.
Drunk Arena
I got from rank 3 to 2 last night and i barely remember that i played rogue. But that is exceptional, most of the time i suck when playing drunk

No worries, thanks for the reply! Deck is pretty fun to play. I ended up adding 2xGentle Megasaur which can be quite brutal after dropping a Skyfin
