It's more than fleshshaper or the double invoke card. The whole class has some strong synergies. The whole overload package and the new +1/1 (1 overload) as connector to the galakrond heropower/invokes.
In comparison to warlock shaman is on steroids.
Warrior for example has a fitting Galakrond as well. And rogue players will surely refine their decks. It has always been like this with combo decks
I don't get why people call the warlock galakrond bad... People say getting 2 1/1's is bad.... BUT THATS ODD PALADIN IN A NUTSHELL. I'm having trouble understanding why people call odd paladin a problem (Wild ofc) and the warlock galakrond bad. They basicly have the same hero power, for the exception of having a demon tribe instead of Silver hand synergies (Level Up!). Playing the warlock galakrond is basicly a reload. And Token Druid even used The Forest's Aid as a reload. Okay it doesn't work as good as Forest's aid, but it's a reload none the less... Maybe demon's rght now are just bad? I'm curious how well warlock galakrond functions in wild, where nearly all the really good demons are.
(This Galakrond HAS to be THE reason Doomguard was hall of famed 5 months ago)
Perhabs the reason warlock Galakrond is considered bad is because it gets outshined by Shaman Galakrond & Pirate Warrior? I truly hope the upcoming nerfs will make it so warlock galakrond gets some time to shine!
Thank god a nerf is coming, the power level of this card alone makes the whole ladder experience not fun. They haven't announced that this card will be hit, but it's bound to happen.
if Faceless Corruptor is not on that list I'm going to scream.
Also, the really dropped the ball on Shaman this time. Galakrond is so op that he improves the winrate of any deck you put him in by 5%...and Galakrond Shaman sits at over 60% winrate.
Let that sink in: a completely new deck (well, sort of) immediately rises to 60% winrate without even having been refined. The last time that happened was Even Paladin with Call to Arms at 4.
Not sure why everyone has such a hateboner for Warrior. I've played the matchup a bunch of times and while it's strong it doesn't really seem overpowered unless you're playing a real greedy deck with lack of defense.
If anything Parachute Brigand needs to be a 2/1 or something because it's just not fair when that thing drops twice on turn 1 and you have no realistic chance of getting rid of it.
Running Weapon removal is key at this point. If you can shut down Ancharr early and they don't have Hoard Pillager in their opening hand then you're good (although they might need to nerf the Pillager to 5 to make the weapon removal not pointless)
I have been playing rush warrior + galakround I have NO idea why people are playing pirates it's clearly inferior to rush warrior, I have been winning none stop, even against shamans..
Rush warrior had 2 problems: lack of reach, and lack of card draw that doesn't loses you as much tempo, guess what galakround does? +3 attack and card draw.. Pirate warrior while strong just has so much of it's power on a legendary weapon that if they don't draw it well it's just a meh deck and even the "god draw" is not that insane..
Eternium Rover is still the king of the early game, you add the rush/enrage package and you have a very sturdy early game, the invoke cards provide the mid game and galakround gives the insane late game.
And Faceless Corruptor needs a huge nerf the card was insane enough on paper.. on practice it's even more insane, and I thought the targeting was random as well..
minimum a 7 mana card not even 6 mana, that's a Bonemare buff effect..
Imagine if Bonemare had rush itself, gave rush to target instead of taunt, had better buff with hand buffs and to top it off was 5 mana instead of 7.. that's the card blizzard released. (well you can't go face with it, but still...)
The 8/8 was way too much for arena that early, since if any early dragons are dropped then the opponent will instantly have board control. In one deck I have drafted getting 2 of them basically carried me to 8 wins on their own I’m pretty sure
Well, THANK YOU Blizz for removing Poacher from Arena. I played 3 runs, and stopped playing Arena because of this card alone. It was not even fun when I was dropping it on turn 4, felt way too unfair. I am really happy and really proud it took only few days for the team to figure it out and remove this cancer.

I honestly hope they give shaman the "Ros Rogue/ SoU Mage" Treatment by over-nerfing them into oblivion. I'm so tired of shamanstone... Honestly why did these nerfs take so long! Also hoping pirate warrior gets a nerf. The best way to nerf that deck i.m.o. is nerfing Ancharrr, as its the pillar of that deck. I hope control decks will actually stand a better chance after the nerfs.... (Honestly aren't Control decks supposed to counter Aggro decks? it feels like Aggro counters everything...)
i hope that they will fix that you can see the galakrond getting invoked/upgraded in your opponents hand while holding it. so you know he has it in hand...
great to see, bad to know that he can see yours...
does anyone know if that is reported?
If you mean you'd want for them to remove the animation telling the opponent it's in your hand, I absolutely agree. I hope that wasn't an intended interaction and that they're planning to fix it. C'thun doesn't tell you his location either!

Theros: Beyond Death Card Spoilers for December 12 + Mechanics Preview
This is basically Theros 1.1
Not much new in terms of mechanics.
Galakrond Warlock totally useless?
I think that Warlock could possibly go for a more control-style gameplan.
I just fought against a guy who used Expired Merchant and Soulwarden to get multiple copies of Galakrond, the Wretched (+ the Elekk/Plot Twist combo). The Standard Demon-Pool has no Mal'Ganis or Voidlord, but the random Summons are still pretty decent with things like Siegebreaker, Illidan Stormrage or just a 5-5 Sathrovarr.
Maybe this kind of Warlock-Deck could be something to consider if Shaman loses its Topspot?

The problem with demons is the missing support. Maybe in a few months. But not right now.
New Neutral Minion - Faceless Corruptor
more comparable to Bonemare- making every 1/1 on board you leave a potential 5/4 next turn.

It violently ended games on turn 4, you just played any dragon? any early game dragon in arena? good luck against the 8-8
