next month I'll return here, and the next, and the next... In a year, when the new "nerf this" post hits, I'll have all this thread to prove my point, over, and over, and over. See you then, have fun!

If that wasn't clear enough, that won't prove your point. I don't know how else to explain it.

    Anyway, whatever. Cheers!

  • Dimensional Ripper OTK!

I've tried this deck, with a few changes. I have added this 10 Mana dude that makes minions with spells in hand, deathwing, no brawls and no Dr boom, mega fun!

  • Iksar: "We have some plans to remove Divine Spirit"

Basic and Classic should be rotating sets on a 2 year cycle. Move Divine Spirit out for 2 cycles (i.e. 4 years), then bring it back later if the players miss it that much. This would also help Blizzard to sell Classic packs for many more years to come. Problem solved.

  • Iksar: "We have some plans to remove Divine Spirit"

They can't nuke Circle Of Healing, what about that classic Archanai/Circle board clear? I'm all for a rework of Priest as I find that Priest has the worst Classic/Basic Set by far. But it might be hard to balance a complete rework with the cards that we have available now.

Looking at it though, a card like Penance for example, should probably have been in the Priests Classic or Basic Set from the beginning.

So maybe Blizzard have started a rework of Priest and that will come to a head with the Set Rotation in April?

Anyway, DS/Inner Fire combo should probably have been fixed a long time ago.

Felt like a bit of a rant against Combo decks. Yeah, some are frustrating to play against but if you get rid of it, everything becomes Control. Do you really want to see Control Warrior vs Control Warriors forever?

Oh the shock, not one month later, and people are asking priest to be nerfed.

See, no matter how much you downvote and disagree, I was right, this is a no ending circle. There will always be a better deck and people will whine about it.

    Ahhhhh,it $uck$ being right!

    Nope.

Combo Priest is not the only t1 deck (Highlander Hunter comes close), but people complain only of Combo Priest.

That implies your reasoning is incomplete. There's more to that, and it's about HOW a deck is t1, HOW it wins, etc. That decides what warrants a nerf or not. Proof of this is the latest article about Iksar on Divine Spirit.

Finally, there are complaints and complaints ofc. The fact that people always complain of something does NOT imply that ALL complaints are wrong.

So no, you were not right. And the fact you self-assert being right does not make you right.

  • Iksar: "We have some plans to remove Divine Spirit"

    Hopefully.

Probably a change to +4hp or +1/+3 would be cool enough to see, while maintaing the flavor.

The multiplier to x2 is indeed something that rarely appears in HS, especially with such a low cost (eg. Blessed Champion).

But then I'm not sure he'd have used the word 'removed'. He'd have used 'reworked' instead.

  • Iksar: "We have some plans to remove Divine Spirit"

Rip priest, i guess? Now will be zero win conditions at all.

    Power Word: Fart

I spilled my coffee here. Anyways, I agree: as I keep saying, I'd gladly let them take away Northshire Cleric and Divine Spirit for a new playable evergreen set (not overpowered, just playable and with cards that can possibly fit into strong decks without causing a community uproar)

  • Iksar: "We have some plans to remove Divine Spirit"

    Staff

Remove is a very interesting choice of word indeed. I just can't see them ever really removing anything. Completely change a card, yes, but truly remove, no.

  • Stealing the Opponent's Quest Part 2!

Again, please edit Deck Type and set it to Just for Fun.

This is no Ranked stuff. :)

The boss is broken, you can't defeat him if you azari the devourer too soon.... Lost a run with bobs deck due to that

I heard/saw and read about some instances were the boss cannot be defeated or the life he lost was not saved and you would have to start over at 300 again but as far as i know they released a patch a few days ago and it was fixed. Not sure if it also fixed the problem you mentioned!

To the OP: Nice one, had the same passive powers and it was one of the easiest boss fights ever :)

Nope, if you azari too soon, he will be left with his first hero power and is unkillable

  • Group Therapy! Need to blow off some steam? Mega salty? Here's the place!

Didn't he change his name? To something like KaleKin?

  • Priest is currently trash in wild & it would be a pertinent problem for the class in near future.

People are just lazy in Wild.

I still meet a ridiculous amount of Big Priests at rank 5 and 4 and even 3, which means people just want to sh1t upon the game with broken synergies, instead of systematically improving their wr.

Very few players change their habits, and they do so only if they find another broken or top tier deck (eg Secret Mage and Mech Paladin).

Dragon Priest is still a solid deck, and/or a Combo counterpart. It's just that it is either a common Midrange deck with raw power but nothing entirely broken (so not appealing enough, as opposed to BP), or it's too complicated to play (especially if compared to BP). So nobody plays them.

Hell, nearly any deck is viable in Wild right now, you just need to include Spellbreaker (Silence, Mass Dispel) against Paladins and Taunts, and Eater of Secrets against Mages, and carry some healing/burst power of your own. I brought my Even Hunter to rank 3 with minor effort (and i am not even a good player), i can't believe Priest can't find a decent deck!

I reiterate, people are just too lazy in Wild, and BP fuck3d their minds...

  • Priest - Nerf or Overhaul?

Here's the thing, what is Priest supposed to do in order to win outside of either an Inner Fire combo or Resurrect effects (usually into Inner Fire)?

Last year I had a blast playing Dragon Control Priest. It wasn't unfair/annoying to play against, it fought for the board with minions but importantly, it had a win condition with Alexstrasza + some damage the next turn, usually 2x Mind Blast and something else. Mind Blast is gone and we got a completely useless spell for it in return, so spell damage isn't an option anymore.

If Divine Spirit goes out (which I can understand fully), the only thing left is using Resurrect effects on big stuff or Deathrattles. I've played the latter of this deck with Deathrattles like Mechanical Whelp, Cairne Bloodhoof and Da Undatakah and it's fun, but it simply isn't strong enough to really push very far. It is partially dependant on getting the right minion back and doesn't do much of anything in the early to mid-game. Quest is unreliable. It can work but just prevent Priest from having a minion and not letting them heal and you win the game pretty easily.

Which leaves me with one very simple question, what is Priest supposed to play exactly?

Control deck? Okay, how does Priest kill the opponent? Where's the damage, the threat?
Combo? With what? All the combo damage cards are effectively gone if Divine Spirit kicks the HoF bucket. (which again, I do understand)
Aggro/Zoo? Might as well play Warlock, they're usually far better at it.

I'd love it if Priest was a class that could *really* make a board stick. They have some healing tools for it, but often enough your minions die after trading once. The actual health buffs that might make something like this work (so you could trade and not lose the minion) are scarce. Power Word: Shield is about it really. Yeah ok there's the 6/6 that gives a minion +3 health. I've never seen it played outside of Arena. And then there are still plenty of board clears that don't care about health or simply do crazy amounts of damage (Hagatha's Scheme for example). And Priest isn't that good at a comeback outside of (again) Resurrect effects.

I'd hate to see Priest revolve solely around Resurrect effects. Players can quickly adapt to this by adding one or two tech cards that pollute the Resurrect pool. I also don't like the random aspect of it. Priest definitely needs something. It's my favorite class, especially with Dragons or Deathrattles, but I'm starting to worry that all the punch is being taken away because it's frustrating to deal with but getting nothing in return once it's gone.

  • Iksar: "We have some plans to remove Divine Spirit"

    Remove?

Do they actually mean remove, or just HoF?

I mean, remove sounds drastic and is unprecedented.

With that being said, i'd be very happy to see a full rework of Basic Priest, to make it more solid on its own (eg cards like Holy Ripple and Velen's Chosen would perfectly fit instead of broken DS and ridiculous holy nova), and less vulnerable to broken synergyes on one hand, or the requirement of continuous injection of broken cards on the other.

PS: i do hope they keep the art of DS in some card. Dwarf Priest with tribal features are the best.

  • Iksar: "We have some plans to remove Divine Spirit"

I'd really like to see a complete priest basic / classic set rework instead, for sure. But as quick (not in some months but right now) measure I think changing Circle of Healing is the most effective way without totally castrating everything that priest is able to do right now. Because the only thing it can do right now, is the combo.

That is for Standard, I have no clue about wild.

  • Priest - Nerf or Overhaul?

    I totally agree with that.

Also: circle without / with a more expensive circle of healing you can actually control the board better with just damaging minions instead of having to kill everything to make sure the priest doesn't kill you in one turn, draw a million cards or both.

  • Priest is currently trash in wild & it would be a pertinent problem for the class in near future.

i don't know what you're talking about. Rotating Divine spirit (if they go that route) is the best possible scenario for Wild Priest. Blizzard won't stop printing buff cards because of that. If anything they'll print more now that they don't have to worry that having cheap health buffs will result in immediate OTKs. The only reason why most of the buff cards are hot garbage is precisely because they have to make sure you can't make big minions too easily because DS still exists. In Wild this wouldn't nearly be as much of a problem.

Also, unnerfing Raza would be outright retarded. Reno decks are so much stronger now thanks to Zephrys and you want to bring back the most notorious OTK/anti-interaction deck we've ever seen? We're talking about a deck that doesn't even need to kill enemies in one turn, they can just burn you out over multiple turns and there'S nothing you can do about it. Remember that Mindblast is still around in Wild.

  • Iksar: "We have some plans to remove Divine Spirit"

I mean....to be completely fair, it's not like the deck is obscenely strong right now. It's quite clearly one of the best around, but far from eclipsing anything else.

Also I'd rather they take a bit more time to actually think about what they're doing instead of just slamming the nerfhammer down for a quick and easy fix (look at the recent nerfs on Priest and Mage, one did pretty much nothing and the other one completely crippled the class...all because they wouldn't consider reworking some base mechanics)

also, what do you mean "refuse to address"? They literally made a post talking about their plans, they just don't want to go "yeah sure, f*ck Divine Spirit, we'll rotate it next week and replace it with Power Word: Fart which gives a minion +1 Health this turn only" when they might just go about it a different way (Hint: possible classic set rework for Priest)

  • Iksar: "We have some plans to remove Divine Spirit"

I quit Hearthstone and have stopped posting here but I feel compelled to respond to this.  Divine Spirit/Inner Fire has been a problem since day 1.  "We might do something about it.....in 6 months."

Honestly fuck Blizzard.   They continue to give the middle finger to players and refuse to address large glaring issues in the game.  They don't deserve a single cent of anyone's money.

  • Iksar: "We have some plans to remove Divine Spirit"

that's just wrong. Circle and Cleric are just the support that keeps the problem alive, but the actual proble is still the combo itself.

If you keep nerfing the support cards (extra arms style) all you're doing is pushing the problem away until it  eventually comes back when new cards are released.

Circle has never been a problem by itself

  • Iksar: "We have some plans to remove Divine Spirit"

why? they are only a problem for Standard. Wild is where even more broken stuff is anyways, so what's the point of balancing something for Standard?
