  • Highkeeper Ra WITHOUT Cultist

There is less than a 10% chance to get a Cultist using this method (9.3%)... challenge indeed!

There is not many health restoration for druids except the new card they got. Healing touch was played in the past. I think if you can meet the condition at turn 5, this card is good. Even in the late game not bad

    Lotsa healing nowadays!

  • Will you buy tombs of terror?

    Quote From Risen

I bought it, but I am not excited for it. I usually love dungeon runs too. I fully cleared dalaran heist heroic with all classes on all acts, so maybe it's just burnout?

I take it back. Only played an hour its pretty good so far. I can see myself playing this a lot in the near future. Thanks blizz

    Card with Rush, Battlecry:

  • Even Recruit Warrior

    Thank you for your reply!

The Recruit Mechanic is all about cheating big minions out for less mana. So I was looking for cheaper minions to have a bit more to do in the early game and I added Vargoth because it is the only "small" minion I can think of you are happy to see from your recruits.

And if you draw him against agressive decks you have a early minion to play (as soft taunt) and against other decks you can still get great use out of his effect. You can play him at 10 mana with one of your 6 mana spells, execute 2 enemy minions ore Shuffle 2 times with dead mans hand.
I've played this deck without Vargoth before and I think Vargoth makes this deck better. At least I can say I won some games due to Vargoth.

I tried Blatant Decoy but unfortunately it didnt work so well for me. But depending on the meta this card could definately be a nice addition.

This deck is already not bad vs aggressive decks (for me at least) and I think the early mountain giant is so good that it helps the deck more than not.

To the other legendaries: I tried to build this deck with some small synergies in itself. Maybe Rotface would be a nice addition. But yes I think all the other legendaries would work fine as well.

One thing about my version: I'm not sure I think I have to many weapons. Maybe I should cut one of the Weapons Projects for something like Bring It On?

I think it's a bit of a drag that Warrior has been the only viable control class for ages now. It really makes the meta a lot more onesided when one of the three major archetypes of decks is represented by a single class.

for ages is a bit of an overstatement. Warrior only came back as a control class during Rumble when Odd Warrior finally became good enough (thanks to the Dragon package)

the only reason why Warrior even got to this point is because pretty much all other "control" classes got more proactive strategies (well that and Dr. Boom). Take Mage for example: the tools are all there but it's just more effective to be a bit more on the proactive side with Mountain Giants and whatnot.

In fact, Warrior just happens to be the only class who is still able to play the old school control game of "just remove everything your opponent have and win when they die from old age....which is mostly due to the complete overload of removal they have. Bommb Warrior was technically a step in the right direction (as are the new taunt cards) so I'm looking forward to the rotation when a lot of the overly efficient removal and Boom go away so Warrior can build their contorl decks more proactively

Warrior has late-game inevitability. Any control deck that wants to coexist alongside Warrior and have a chance to beat it (EG Quest druid ATM) needs a proactive win condition because in fatigue they lose to warriors. Hence Phaoris, Nomi, Floop, etc.: the hope is to run warrior out of mass removal and win on the spot, because eventually rushing mechs will overcome any amount of threats.

Warriors have a proactive win condition in bombs and they choose not to use it in the current meta because slow and steady wins the race more reliably ATM. Having inevitability is a feature, not a cost.

Cards/comboes that create big minions are not inherently a problem. King Phaoris, Astromancer, etc. are powerful, but fair. It's when you can hit that power spike on turn 3/4 that it becomes a big issue. And yes that goes for Cleef too, it's absurd he hasn't been HoF'ed or nerfed to four mana considering how many games, even at a high level, are decided by a turn two or three huge Cleef.

People talk about cleef and they say he is super good and he should be HoF or nerfed. But maybe I have seen like 10 edwins in my 2-3 years of playing hearthstone. I really don't see him much ever and he has never seemed like he has been good enough to need to get nerfed. Why do you think edwin should be HoFed? is he really that much of a problem?

No i think he's not - sure i had a game a few years back were i was up against a 12/12 Edwin on 3 or 4 , but that does not happen that often. Most of the time he's a 6/6 or max an 8/8 - but even that does not happen that often - so i do not see him as a problem.

Oh come on. Just because Rogue is off-meta right now doesn't mean that the most powerful rogue card ever is suddenly fine. Off the top of my head I can't recall a rogue list in the previous season of GM that didn't include him, and before that I'm pretty sure every viable competitive rogue list that didn't include The Caverns Below ran him as well.

And no, he doesn't always come down as a 12/12, and he doesn't have to to be a problem. A turn 2 6/6 or a turn 3 8/8 is so far ahead of the curve that most decks have to take two turns dealing with the problem unless they have exactly the right answer in hand, which means taking massive damage while the rogue can freely develop. It's like how the better class of Priest players doesn't just play Inner Fire + Divine Spirit for a 32/32 lethal, oftentimes making a 6/6 cleric on turn two is the correct play.

So yes, Cleef has been a problem since the dawn of hearthstone.

Dragon version of Hench-Clan Hogsteed. But try to make it more interesting

  • The Meta seems ...

They improve from year to year!

I would guess their data analysis has become strong enough to detect broken stuff in the developpment.

I‘m totally impressed that things like the hunter quest turn out to be viable. All highlanders see (saw) play.

In general, the vaste field of T2 decks is a good indicator of a healthy meta. Little shifts are enough to bring totally new decks into the ladder

  • The Meta seems ...

I like that I can play my secret burn mage r5 and manage to win quite a few matches. The decline in warrior made this possible :-)

  • Fleshshaper + Mutate is a problem

That's what i thougt the last time i looked through the Forums on PWN ... just a few days ago i thought let's see what is going on there and some of the Threats seem pretty abandoned - and the stuff they talk about etc is perfectly described the way sou said it - mostly people who have no idea about the game :) - with some exceptions but still most of them don't :)

Basically a Snowchugger on steroids. Can control the board and deal damage, but is more balanced by dealing the same effect to your board.

Next up, a Kobolds spell for Warlock.

  • The Forgotten Wilds of Hearthstone - A Stag's Shamanistic Secrets

  • The Meta seems ...

I am really enjoying the diversity in the current meta - I have at least 1 deck with each class that 1) is fun to pay and 2) isn't a total dumpster-fire of meme-ery and can actually win games.

It will be really interesting to see how the new expansion(s) work with the quests and if the next meta will propel some of the "stragglers" into the limelight: i.e. are they actually going to print more Reborn minions for Paladin? Try to give Warrior more tools than just Armored Goonto make Weapon Warrior a thing? More draw/shuffle mechanics for Warlock?

Just thinking they had to HoF Genn/Baku over the restrictions they imposed on printing certain types of card, so will the quests do the same? Or allow them MORE room to make cards that fit the quests to help balance them? Time will tell...

  • The Forgotten Wilds of Hearthstone - A Stag's Shamanistic Secrets

  • Highkeeper Ra WITHOUT Cultist

First time I saw the animation. Its NAISU!

  • Divine Spirit

    Pro

I think a nerf or HOF for this card is overdue. It's not overly broken since it does require some setup and you have to combo it with Inner Fire, but unfortunately the setup is so easy sometimes, especially with how powerful resurrect effects are. Nerfing or HOFing Inner Fire isn't the answer because there is still Topsy Turvy and Crazed Alchemist.

HOF is probably what they'll do, since the logic continues to be "Wild has a greater pool of answers" although I won't comment on how valid that point is. I think a good nerf would be "Give a friendly minion +4 health" or +5 or +6, something like that.

  • Hearthstone Masters Changes Coming in October

While I think these changes are positive (at least from this point-in-time), I'm a little concerned that the changes keep coming so rapidly.  So far not a big worry, but if this trend continues competitors will begin to get frustrated with having to re-learn the rules and policies over and over again...
