The idea that a gentle Tortollan Pilgrim might actually be the new avatar of Yogg-Saron, Hope's End, made the whole thing much more Horror than i tought it could be.
In my opinion, Quantity only works for evaluating decks' playrates and winrates. Hsreplay.net was already doing that before OOC/Hearthpwn split. I don't think that forums are used by consumers for searching good and impactful decks. Deck database of forums are for people who searchs interesting or fun decks. The quantity difference between hearthpwn and OOC only effects those in my opinion.
And also, Forums are meant to be places for discussions. I don't like how community turned the Hearthpwn's forums into netdecking garbage which has not been happen here yet and I afraid it will change as soon as we will have more users here.
I mean, ok, I also want to see more support for this site from Hearthstone players but I also afraid that the Quantity will corrupt the core of the site. They will bring their funny and interesting ideas but they will bring also their salt, ridiculous elitist thoughts and stuff like those.
I always prefer less people with more quality than more people will less quality. There is a proverb, you know; Too many cooks spoil the stew.
ok I agree that 7-cost Dr. Boom, Mad Genius is more problematic than 9-cost one with posibility of 14 armor gain in turn 9 but c'mon, It doesn't even change the card's overpoweredness. Mech generating with rushing mechs are problem, Possibility of 4+ Omega Devastators are problem, Making all mechs removal by giving them rush is the problem not the mana cost. You don't even play this card at turn 7.
It might lower the card's winrate a bit against some aggro decks but doesn't solve the problem against control vs control match-ups. It will stay problematic against all of the Control decks and it is superior against them. A card that makes a control deck superior against other control decks is ridiculous. Like how Jade Idol was problematic card in its time.
I need to admit that it is fun to play the card and generating mechs but the real problem is giving rush to all mechs. I think only one thing can solve this problem which is giving the text that "The first mech you played have rush." with that mana cost change might solve the problem. Ok maybe it also won't solve entirely but might help more for sure.
Hey I’m looking for some advice. I play reno mage, and I have pocket galaxy. Do I dust it for 1,600? Or does anyone’s think it would potentially still see play? Thanks in advance for any and all feedback
Dude i mainly play quest druid right now. I HIGHLY recommend looking up Kripp’s list and then -1 overflow/+1 chef nomi. It is so fun and has me at rank 3
So one of the other problem is Extra Arms + Faceless Rager on curve. If you have them at openning hand, you have simply a 3/5 or 2/5 and a 5/5 on the board which is kind of a problem. It causes them to not produce any other 3 health 1-cost minion which means that combination limits the design space.
Personally I have still used HearthPwn on occasion, but mostly I'm only on OoC for Hearthstone news, forums, and recent user decks. I also get on HS Replay for deck stats, etc. Mostly when I've used HP since the split was a momentary bit of downtime at OoC during card reveals, and if I'm looking for inspiration for a Wild deck. Given how new OoC is they don't have the deck data base that goes back to 2014. But if I need some inspiration I can pull up an old deck similar to what I'm thinking of making, maybe get reminded of some old card I haven't seen in a while. Which is why I loved the recent article about "Forgotten Wilds" on OoC! As well as OoC's attention to Wild and featured Wild Weekend decks.
Truly, OoC is already a better site than HP ever was! Keep it up, guys!
The community is smaller but what matters is quality and not quantity, I mean yeah you can compmplain the community split but most of it is salty anyway so far most people here are not opening a nerf thread every 2.5 minutes like in HPWN and complaining about every single deck, I open this site a lot, still go to hpwn from time to time (didn't comment since the "shutdown" and although there is more discussion there I don't feel like it's a good discussion, just need more people to be active and start opening interesting threads I think that once the custom HS contests will start this site will start to see some serious activity.
Its sad that a number of fun decks in wild like Big Rogue will probably be more damaged by the collateral damage from the Barnes nerf than Big priest itself. Barnes was an often brutal turn 4 play to be sure, but Vargoth and the resurrection/ graveyard mechanic as a whole are much more problematic, imo. Having said that, I'm glad that Blizzard finally pulled the trigger on the nerf, but worry that Big Priest will continue to plague us more or less indefinitely. Maybe the lack of an early statue or Yshaarj will allow aggro decks to push through that much more easily, who knows?
Agreed. Big Priest doesn't need Barnes anymore at all. Just hard mulligan for Vargoth. Opponent kills it priest just resses it twice. Don't kill it and you risk facing double Shadow Essence
I've actually been thinking for a while now that Vargoth is a much better card in that deck than Barnes. The only upside of Barnes was playing him on turn 3/4 and getting something amazing to bring back over and over again. But once he died he was a terrible rez target himself. But Vargoth is an amazing rez target can still be played 3/4, and is much more impactful when summoned by Shadow Essence as well. The other great benefits of Vargoth outweight the lack of a 1/1 summoned when played.
At this point I've swapped a few things around. However, a real good inclusion is Unite the Murlocs as I generally don't play anything on turn 1 anyway - even with the coin. Often, I complete the quest in turn 5.
Most of the core community moved to OOC when the admins changed. A number of people stayed on HP because they didn't like how OOC looked (still the deal breaker I hear from many HP-only users. Please do light mode soon so we can grab them!), but I suspect the majority of people stayed simply did so because they don't use the forums enough to even know what was happening between the two sites at all. Generally speaking, people who don't use forums often are more likely to lack forums etiquette and thus make shitposts and other less than constructive posts more often
It might also be a matter of passion. People who are passionate and positive about the game are more likely to make constructive and positive posts. Sharing good posts and posting often makes you more likely to bond with the community. If you just make garbage posts, the community will react negatively, you will get a negative experience and you obviously won't bond with the people shaming you (you might even hate them). Anyway, people who were passionate about the community and the admins who held it together were more likely to migrate to OOC
I was worried at first when I heard HP was staying up, because it means the community here is going to be smaller. Looking back on it now, maybe it was a blessing in disguise to shed all those problem users. The entire recent posts page over there is usually user after user complaining about certain decks and raging for more nerfs
I've been playing a more tempo oriented list with slightly less jades/value and having great success with it as well. I haven't tried your list but mine does fine against burn mage with only 1x kezan and 1x laotheb. Getting on board early and preventing the chip damage is generally how you beat tempo mages since they run few minions and fewer board control tools
I'm not running evolve packages anymore since the release of the quest due to lack of space but pre-SoU, I was running Krag'wa, unstable evolutions and corridor creepers. Krag'wa + unstable is insane value that can last entire control games and most battlecry minons are good targets even if you don't have your creeper. It's also tons of fun
By the way, why are you running devolve over hex? For slower decks like yours, isn't 2 more mana not a big deal? Even though Big Priest is super rare right now, devolve still gives them a big drop if you use it on their pulls (I gave my opponent a walking fountain once). I can't imagine what match devolve would be better for. Druid maybe? I personally haven't seen a single one in the longest time though
Won't be any different than any shaman deck I've been playing at these ranks haha. Burn Mage isn't a favourable matchup for much atm. Their new tools they got in SoU has made them disgusting...
Thanks for the answer. You are right. I dont have her, but I see now whats her job now. Maybe Youthful Brewmaster can be the option here. I have 2x Hex in my deck to deal with Big Barnes Priest.
HS is not about ladder for me. I play just for fun since Naxx and 90% wild as I have those cool cards like Loatheb.
Burn mage is the bane of wild atm. Eater of secrets is the only tech for it, and yet I never draw an eater vs it. I always end up drawing the eater vs any class that doesn’t have secrets.
I’m playing at rank 4 in wild atm just farming shaman wins (110 away from golden hero!) so I’ll try out your deck for sure. I could use some more variety in my grind!
Good luck. I hope you have a lot of success with it, though be warned that Burn Mage isn't a favourable matchup.

I've been playing a Quest Jade-C'Thun Shaman deck since I pulled Corrupt the Waters, and it has been entertaining so far. I think I might eventually drop the C'Thun package and start running more control-y stuff like you're doin'; it pains me to admit it, but C'Thun just can't keep up.
Honestly, I've been planning on playing C'thun Quest Shaman (w/o the jade package), because going for the big boi was always very satisfying. If you are considering laddering in wild, then yeah, the jades are the way to go.

I'm on the fence about buffs with one exception (reverting nerfs of certain cards that were nerfed when strong in old metas but have plenty of counters in today's meta). Imo most other buffs only serve to constantly flip-flop a card between its old version and new version (applying and then later stripping buffs away when the cards are complained about). I'm not all about temporarily buffing cards just to throw them back into the hardly playable dumpster soon after that. You might as well have never applied the buff to begin with.

it is not just about Northshire Cleric, it maynot be a problem in community's netdecks but it is possible to play a 5/5 Faceless Rager on turn 3 with any 3 health minion Dragon Egg included. I've had a deck which has Dragon Egg + Northshire Cleric + Crystallizer + Extra Arms + Faceless Rager and it has quite good winrates even it is not a netdeck.

New Mechanic Idea
Oh I would have loved that since I mostly play hunter. Had to craft him. Crafting legendary Cardswhile being f2p is a whole different sorta pain. :(
Looking back at the Buffs experiment.
I'd say it was a success for the reasons duppie already mentioned. Hope they do something similar for Rastakhan's Rumble.

Emeriss
Emeriss can be outrageous when you fill your hand with 0-mana King Krushes using Scarlet Webweaver and Hunting Party. That's potentially 112 damage!
