I think Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron is rigged against me. It almost always mills (why does it keep casting Myra's Unstable Element!) or straight up kills me (one more Pyroblast to my own face and I may lose it), and never gives me a board clear when I need it. Yet for my opponents, it always gives them exactly what they need. I never had such consistent bad luck with Yogg. Praise Yogg.
As everyone else has said, great content as usual. I especially like the general descriptions on not only how to play the deck but how to beat it as well. To me, the hardest part of a new deck is figuring out the proper mulligans and strategies. While some are obvious, others are not.
Further, I want to give a shout out to the combo priest outlined. I found it a few days before this was published and run a slightly different list (I run Leroy), and it has been absolutely crazy. It's so fun to play (even when getting screwed from draws sometimes) and has brought me from Rank 7 to Rank 3. I hope to use it to reach legend for the first time. It is strong against pretty much every deck, especially against Quest decks and Luna's Mage. Oddly, I have only had two mirrors, so the deck is still flying under the radar. In short, I recommend that you play it before the balance changes come in the coming weeks (suspected targets for nerfs are More Arms and Divine Spirit among others). You won't regret it.
At least half the posts in there are yours anyway... It's certainly needed for you
incorrect. i currently have two posts in the salt thread.
After you deleted them all... and posted in the thread about deleting them...
Not trying to be an ass here, you just post about how you play perfectly and have like a 30% win rate... Either the universe is against you or you just need to improve at the game man.
If you think that randomly buffing or nerfing cards without thinking is good, than you should look at how are most of the time correctly handled such problems in bigger games like MTG (it even happened that they printed a new card that was banned from certain format even before its release). What Team5 is doing seems like random changes without any kind of knowledge about what would be the consequences and that is a poor choice in term of design, because it show how little they care about balance.
The game should stay fresh because players should have many different things to do, so that their experience is different and hardly boring allowing them to switch from one mode to another as they please (different formats with their own restrictions, auto-tournaments for those who want a very competitive environment, costume matches and so on). Not just shake the meta by making pointless buffs/nerfs to cards because they've got no better idea.
PS: they obviously can not predict the meta. Noone can. That‘s why nerfs and buffs happen in the first place.
You're contradicting yourself: nerfs and buffs allow Team5 to actually control the meta, deciding which archetype should be abandoned and which ones should rise. So they can indeed force the meta if they want. They've also clearly stated that when they printed Drakonid Operative back in the days, saying that they wanted Dragon Priest to shine again before it rotated out of Standard no matter what so they've decided to make a clearly OP card exclusivly for it.
The meta should keep evolving because players keep thinkering with a well balanced and interesting new set of cards to find new meta-breakers. It should not change just because Team5 has decided what players should play to be competitive.
Absolutely! I can't tell you how frustrating it is for me to have all but one of these elemental lords. I was expecting Therezane in Un'goro, since it was so strongly elemental-themed. Perhaps we could get a Deepholm set one day and they are saving her for that. After all, there are theories that Deathwing might have something to do with the third set of the year of the dragon, and he has the strong connection to Deepholm. Not saying I fully buy into the theory, but it's fun to think about.
I think even Priest players (been Priest main until last rotation) would be all down for the Divine Spirit/Inner Fire reign to be over: yeah, it's a strong finisher, but it's so boring, dumb and repetitive.
Edit (cause I think people didn't understand my point of view): yeah, HoF it but give us something different (and possibly playable) in the evergreen set to play with
Provide winrates, and high ranks, basically create meta-breakers or meta-breaker variants of existing decks, and prove it with deck trackers.
Alternatively, if your deck is not super strong, but at least viable, you can still "decorate" it with an interesting theme (based on the cards themselves), to be included in the deck title, and to be detailed in the deck description. it becomes more alluring.
You can even come up with a deck concept, say you want to build a Highlander deck with Zephrys the Great, and then try to complete it with cards fitting a theme (this is what I did with the deck in my current signature). Or even just start from a theme, and make a meme deck. As long as the theme is solid or entertaining, the deck will be noticed.
Ofc it's better if the deck itself is also viable.
Add the link to your signature, be an active forum member, and eventually someone will notice them, and maybe upvote.
You basically have to build a narrative around your deck. The more meme your deck is, the stronger the deck narrative must be, in order to be noticed. If you have both deck strength, and deck narrative, the likes are bound to skyrocket.
PS: always give your own upvote to your decks. From 0 to 1. It means more chances to get noticed. Once you reach 2 or 3, you have fair chances to be highlighted by the website.
Deck guide and start a thread asking people for input. I think deck guide is the biggest part. It's hard to do if you're like me and have very little time in your life to put into creating a guide.
Threads are great to get a discussion going about a specific archetype that needs refinement. Many people will be glad to give their input and share what has been working for them. Might not get you views and upvotes, but it could help you refine your deck, so you can make a solid guide.
I'm probably not the best person to take advise from on this. My decks get no views or upvotes either.
You should invest more effort into deck guides. When ppl see you made an effort, they usually appreciate it. Anyone can put 30 cards together, there are many decks like that, so it is no surprise that you werent lucky with landing a discussion about it in yours. Make your deck stand out. Deck-building is hard. Maybe give some thought to your deck names as well.
I've created 6 decks here since joining the site, and as far as I can tell, not one of them has been viewed even once. I'm not saying my decks are so amazing that everyone should be upvoting and commenting on them, but I was hoping for at least a little feedback, suggestions, etc. How do you get your decks into the spotlight?
Also, there are achievements related to this, and I love me some achievements.
I think the issue with priest is not that it has a good deck, but that those decks are not fun to play against. I feel like priest, by its very nature, is very frustrating to lose to. whenever priest gets a good deck, it is always very annoying.
I want to craft dinotamer brann, but I am also missing subject 9 and siamat. most lists I see run those two, do you think the deck will be viable without them? or should I try and save up for a different deck?
If you are a hunter player Subject 9 is a great card and sees play in almost every hunter deck. Siamat is another great card and imo a safe craft for this set. But it will always depend on your dust. If you have the dust, go fot it. The deck is awesome and super fun. But it's super expensive.
I don't really have the dust to craft those legendaries. I have like 200 and I am waiting until I have enough to craft brann. if I cannot find replacements for siamat and subject 9 then I probably go after a cheaper deck
Turn 1 Northshire Cleric into turn 2 Extra Arms is a really good start against any deck. Having a 3/5 on board on turn 2 is hard to kill for almost every deck in the meta. But I have to say that I liked Extra Arms as a viable card in a combo priest and I'd rather not nerf it.
Tech options do exist though. Ironbeak Owl and Spellbreaker can put a damper on any combo priests day.
Most decks just aren't built to deal with combo priest well since its a recent deck.
Ah the good ole "just run silence" option. As others have said, there's very few decks that can answer a 3/5 on turn 3. Actually hardly any decks can. Oh wait, there is ONE class that can quite efficiently remove a 3/5 on turn 2. IT'S PRIEST (Shadow word pain).
Silence against a buff priest deck doesn't do a whole lot of anything. And your suggestion of using ironbeak owl is just dumb. A 2/1 silence, that the priest trades with easily with the silenced cleric?
The spellbreaker is a more viable option, but at turn 4 you're most likely going to be dealing with a 3/5 cleric and/or a 3/4 lightwarden. In either instance, silencing only stalls you and gives you a turn to possibly even the playing field, but by no means is it going to just "win you the matchup"

Don't you mean Rank 1 Legend? ;)
Conjurer's Calling & Extra Arms Being Nerfed? Mike Donais Chatlogs
Extra Arms without Twinspell would just be a 2 mana give +2/+2 and wouldn't even be worth including in a deck.
On the other hand, CC without Twinspell would force players to move from the Mountain Giant build to a value one.

Why nobody plays shieldbreaker?
It lost to owl quite clearly .... And if i want to run one silence for later game use i use spellbreaker.
