    Why does it bothers you though? let it be.

  • Conjurer's Calling & Extra Arms Being Nerfed? Mike Donais Chatlogs

    The idea of seeing Conjurer's Calling having its cost upped in place of Mountain Giant (or outright moving it to HoF) already fails to appealing to me;

    it's already a nerf to the likes of turn 10 Astromancer or any 7 Drop + CC combo which are combos that already see almost no play (unless Luna's Pocket Galaxy stays the same in which case, sigh; just a big whoop overall) although on the plus side it's an Arena nerf to Mage, so it's accettable;

    then there is the issue with Warrior winning Lategame with one Hero so they can invest space in fending off Aggro all they want without investing in lategame, like old times Control Warrior had to;

    finally, I feel that if they nerf Mage and Warriors only, game is going to turn into another Hunter vs Priest all over again, with Quest Paladin not quite needed anymore and I have had enough of that.

    And it just got buffed. I liked it at two mana, the card finally became playable.

    Reno as free legendary (cool! i m thinking of craft it today indeed, highlander mage ready), two legendaries (Emeriss and Vereesa) and dust. Not bad.

    I said in yesterdays post Priest nerfs were coming but I got downvoted. Priest has the highest winrate on legend-rank 5.

    The best suggestions I read und I think will be true are the following:

    early HOF of Inner Fire, Dr. Boom Hero Card and Mountain Giant

    nerf to 2 mana for Priests Cleric (falls in line with the leaked nerf to Extra Arms)

    Pocket Galaxy up to 6 mana (I think with the leaked nerf to conjurer's calling this will lead to a clear decline in mages playrate)

    Prismatic Lens up to 6 mana

    Nice, so Priests basic and classic set will be twice as worst as the number 8 :

    Decks that beat it are not the issue. The issue is how polarising the card is. A turn 4 or 5 pocket galaxy increases the win rate of the deck massively to the point you may as well concede depending on the deck you're playing.

    Extra Arms was unplayable at 3, Priest was the worst class in HS for a long time, now it has a tier 3 deck, I really don't understand this nerf, they are trying to cancel the class or what?

    The deck actually exceeds the winrate of control warrior (the overall best winrate deck) if you filter stats by legend ranks only

    IMO, it doesn't deserve a nerf even so.  It has a low play rate and win rate at low ranks, thus it isn't a frustrating menace for casual players.  As for high ranks ... don't we all want to more skillful games in tournaments and high ladder?  This new priest barely had any time to see tournament play... when was the last time we saw priest in a tournament, much less an extremely high skill cap one? :(

    Feels bad man, I also opened those 2 "INSANE" cards during their expansions. Played in wild with Splintergraft using Aviana-Kun and our friend da Boar. Disenchanted it right after.

    You can kinda sorta do this, if you have a friend that has all the cards to make a deck you want. You can ask him to make the deck and share it with you in a friendly match.

    Shaman quest, thats nice. And then, two more legendaries! They were (drumroll..) Hir'eeek the Bat and Splintergraft.

    Oh well.

    Played winrate is a terrible metric to judge cards by. Of course Earthquake has a low played winrate, because you never play it when you're already winning. You only play it when trying to turn around a game in which you're far behind. This also explains why Dinotamer Brann is so far ahead of the other cards: It's very often played as a finisher, and played winrate doesn't account for all the times it's stuck in your hand. You see the same for cards like Pyroblast and Mind Blast.

    I mean, you're right about the finishers, and partly right about the board clear. However, if you're trying to get back into a match with a board clear and you lose more often than not when you use it, it's probably not doing the job? I don't know, you probably need to compare lists that differ by only that card and look at their overall win rate differential?

    This feature pretty much exists currently. It's called Whizbang the Wonderful.

    Whizbang the wonderful is literally the very opposite of theorycrafting and deckbuilding lol

    Even netdecking requires more deckbuilding than Whizbang.  At least you can choose decks that are interesting to you and make changes

  • Hogger

    Personal favorite. Always use this one when the deck is made around beast type cards.

    Lol this is the less consistent deck on earth.

  • Conjurer's Calling & Extra Arms Being Nerfed? Mike Donais Chatlogs

    Turn 1 Northshire Cleric into turn 2 Extra Arms is a really good start against any deck. Having a 3/5 on board on turn 2 is hard to kill for almost every deck in the meta. But I have to say that I liked Extra Arms as a viable card in a combo priest and I'd rather not nerf it.

  • Conjurer's Calling & Extra Arms Being Nerfed? Mike Donais Chatlogs

    They said "All these changes", implying there are more nerfs and "basically what everyones been asking for", which might mean they finally address dr. Boom and Luna's pocket galaxy. I agree extra arms is fun but broken at 2 mana, but I just cannot comprehend how quickly they would react to aggro priest's power level in contrast to the much more broken resurrect priest which they just waited until it rotated to wild and let it wreak havoc there. Such an interesting bunch of developers.

    You seem to live under a rock, priest is tier 1 atm (and yet I don't see other people tech silence yet...)

  • Group Therapy! Need to blow off some steam? Mega salty? Here's the place!

    How does Blizzard all the time manage to be so lazy in designing?

    I mean Reborn ok cool. Early/Mid range Quest ok cool but nothing new. Instead why they dont keep pushing archtypes that fit actually into the Theme of these Classes.

    let me give you an example. Boomkin Druid. and i dont mean almighty Malygos. I mean simply identifying the Class more into the Game. Let me get some Spellpower Druid Minions and Burn Spells to let me play Boomkin Archtype.

    another one. Why they keep pushing Control Warrior into Insanity with more removal more rush/clear minions. Why dont make it and "fury" type of warrior and let me get 2 weapons at a time and let me feel the Power of Weapons in a "Warrior"

    another archtype that we had was Anduin Priest. I like the overall Idea of a Priest to be SHADOW aswell. Not only Heal Heal Ress Ress Heal Heal BOOM OTK. let me get a shadow Archtype of Priest back. Why the hell did they even HoF Mindblast?? I dont see any Reason actually?! Not a single Deck benefits of it atm.

    Warlock theme could be a Soullink to his Demons. Make Demons protect your hero more like absorbing dmg that would  go to face for example.

    it could go on because i am really pissed off on how they Design the Game and maybe i should stop playing or complaining because i cant change things but it SICK n tires me how stupid designers are these days and i mean in multiple games n genres. Gamescom showed me this aswell.

    Salt is out for today see you soon.

    Very well done, always a good read.

    I really hope the nerf to Extra Arms isn't true.  It was my favorite card from the Boomsday Buffs, going from unplayable garbage, to a strong card that could fit a variety of synergies ranging from Eggs to Miracle decks.

    Reverting the card to 3 mana essentially deletes it and just makes these few months with it at 2 mana feel like a tease.

    I agree, whether they want to admit it or not, the reason cheap buff cards like Extra Arms can be a problem is the existence of 1-drops like Northshire Cleric that are basically impossible to  kill when played on turn 1. I would also be hesitant to nerf northshire cleric, but I think it might be the right long term decision although they might have to give priest some other playable early drops to compensate.

  • How long do you play your own decks for?

    First of all: refining is a long and complex process, including honing your own skills with the pace of the new deck, which is not a granted thing. Like, at all.

    Secondly, homebrewing can often fail, and very frequently it just performs up to viability at best, like t3 or similar. It's very rare to homebrew a meta-breaker deck. You should never expect that.

    And in any case, point #1 must be upheld before judging. It requires time, a variable amount of time, but definitely not just a handful of games (unless you find the flaw is so big that any meta deck can consistently hit it).

    eg. I reached the final stage of my Highlander Rogue, in its Shadowdancer form, only few days ago, and i've been tinkering with it, with many failures and complete hoverhauls, since release day.
