Super fun deck - thanks so much for posting! I am a huge fan of evolve (even crafted Gold Thrall, Deathseer). This one takes the cake, best evolve deck ever. People said Desert Hare was garbage, I saw it as a great evolve target.
Thanks again, I would give you 10 votes if I could :-)
Won this week's brawl by coining out Generous Mummy. Helped that the next turn my opponent played Surrender to Madness. Never imagined Generous Mummy would ever win me a game, and to think I almost didn't keep it in my mulligan!
Ok. Someone explain this scenario to me! I'm playing Highlander hunter. I set up a lethal situation by putting a couple of minions on board, Kill Command in hand, and a hero power for some overkill. I press End Turn button. My opponent intuitively understands the set up and throws down Khartut Defender and does some other irrelevent action before ending his turn. Its my turn now I get myself down to 6 mana then I play the 2 mana Zephyrs knowing full well that it should offer me a 4 mana Polymorph! Zephyrs offers me Hex instead! I now don't have lethal! I won the game a few turns later but WTF Zephyrs! Hex is almost never a better option than Polymorph.
I'm confused--how exactly did this turn you played Zephrys go? Specifically: you mention having a Kill Command in hand the turn before; did you play this before Zephyrs so literally the only actions you need to lethal were to Polymorph the taunt and send your on-board minions to face?
I'm thinking that he didn't see the lethal so he assumed that you were still fighting for board, in which case trading against a 0/1 is better than a 1/1, but I'm really just guessing.
Isn't Zephrys supposed to give you options for your following turn as well?
Just had this scenario:
At 10 mana, I got my opponent down to 10 HP. I then played Zephrys looking for Pyroblast to guarantee lethal next turn. Instead, I was given no cards to set up lethal. I don't remember all the options he gave, 2 were completely useless survival, I think Tirion and Healing Touch?, and 1 was Flamestrike (None of which I had enough mana to play that turn anyway because I played him with my last 2 mana so he would give me something for next turn) to deal with his board of (3) 4/3's (it was a quest warrior).
If I didn't have enough mana to play anymore cards, why did he offer me board clear and survival cards, if I had lethal setup for a Pyroblast?
It appears Zephrys might put board clear/survival before lethal, which seems like a major design flaw.
I just had a really fun game versus a warlock in the tavern brawl. I was playing Warrior with Rogue, opponent was Warlock with Paladin. First, the guy plays Renounce Darkness turn 2 and gets - Paladin, of course. Turn 6 he plays High Priest Thekal + Silvermoon Portal and gets Kangor (Wow!). And yes, of course he played a Dinosize on Kangor turn 7 and went face. But if you think the worst has passed - oh dear! The very next turn his Unseen Saboteur managed to pull - yes, you got it right - Myra's Unstable Element. Yup, this guy got 20 Armor, Thaurissaned half of his deck and destroyed my deck before he even got to turn 10. But I still didn't give up, as I actually had some pretty good cards in my hand, and his Kangor had only 2 Health remaining. That is, until he played Lay on Hands on him...
That is pretty cool. With the amount of players in China it makes sense to playtest something as important as Tournament mode with a large sample of players. I can wait until they make this an official addition worldwide.
I understand that there is a build around and whatnot to get maximized effectiveness for certain legendaries, but isn't playing Highlander and having a certain amount of situational awareness enough to offset his power? I think he should reward players who know the situation and set things up in a certain way with more consistency.
So we should only care if we live in China Good to know. An what ever happened to multiple legendary quests during the expansion launch. I only ever got 1...
Maybe if this shows a lot of interest in China, it will finally get Blizz to add a feature like this directly into the game. Tournament mode has been asked for for years! HS is really in need of new play modes. 3 xpacs a year isn't going to keep cutting it for keeping the game fresh much longer.
This needs to come Stateside so I can farm Hearthstone for that Amani Dragonhawk mount. My little brother got one from a WoW TCG pack forever ago and I've been jealous for years lol
As the article says, it isn't a Blizzard Feature, but a NetEase Feature which is the distributor (not sure if that's the correct term but they essentially manage all the game's features) for the Chinese region. So Blizzard doesn't have much say in what they do with Hearthstone as long as it isn't malicious.
would be awesome something like this. playing "competive" and gain some packs.. seems to be a lot fun
Except... you get 388 points for 1st place, one packs costs 420 points
Yup, I saw that too. Isn't it a bit unfair, that someone has to put a lot of effort to reach top 10 and will still not be able to purchase a single pack with those points?
And I don't even want to talk about people, who are placed 11th or lower.
Pit Crocolisk OTK!
This is a fantastic budget alternative to the King Krush OTK deck. I love it!

Oh, duh. Somehow skipped over that part, or maybe it was added after I posted my original comment. Thank you.

To the guy who was playing Shaman and randomly generated 3x Zephyros. You are the worst kind of person.
