In a thread that asks for opinion-based responses detailing what each person thinks about a how decks have been faring, none of that really makes any difference or is especially relevant to the question. That was actually the original point I was tying to make in my second post, in fact - that it doesn't matter what other people's personal feelings about the deck are. And there certainly hasn't been long enough of this new meta for any statistical analysis to bear much weight. You'd need a good month or two for that. The core question was what decks do you think are surprisingly bad this expansion. Mech Hunter falls into that category for me.
Yeah well... I'm not usually salty, and if I am, I normally don't whine about it but...
I was about to hit rank 10 after a loooooong climb (I was rank 20) and the boss to rank 10 was a Highlander Mage... Who played really... REALLY BAD... I was winning by a lot, he vas full life but already wasted Alesxtrasza and I recovered in a pinch thanks to a buffed up Zilliax and a Vicious Scraphound, healed 11hp and gained 11 armor so, I was really ok... Then... Internet crashes... Like "trying to reconnect" for 4 minutes... And on top of that my browser was doing good so... WTF!
Mech hunter is a mediocre deck in a vacuum, but it is carried by it's great matchups against popular decks.
The one problem with that sentence is that it is missing a vital part. It should read: Mech hunter is a mediocre deck in a vacuum, but it was carried by it's great matchups against last expansion's popular decks.
And that's why it gets listed in this thread as a currently bad deck. It is no longer any good against most of the popular decks in this current expansion, because they all have too many solid tech tools to deal with it. Sure, you might eke out a few wins with an off-meta deck that deals with it - but so will any bad deck. The point is that it is no longer a good deck to consider trying to rank up with in comparison with more consistently good decks.
Did you even read my post? Mech hunter is carried by it's great matchups against popular decks in the current meta. I even listed several decks popular right now that mech hunter is good against. Some of which didn't exist in RoS. I'm going to reiterate: giants mages (Reno, dragon, freeze, sandwitch, all tier 2 now), slower hunters (Reno, midrange, secrets, tier 1 and 2 now), quest druids, quest shaman (literally didn't exist last expansion)
If anything, the meta is currently better than mech hunter than it was in RoS
I suppose I could ask the same thing. You don't appear to have read what I wrote there. I didn't say Mech Hunter was bad against all decks from this expansion. I said it was BETTER against decks from the last one. It will still do ok against slow greedy decks, like Mage, Quest Druid, etc because they take too long to come online. But against the really popular decks of this meta like Control Warrior, it is noticably bad.
Well, I put forth facts supporting that it does better against decks from this expansion. You've responded that the inverse is true without any evidence or new arguments, so I assumed you didn't understand what I was saying
Normally how this goes is you're supposed to explain why my reasoning or facts are wrong ... not just say I'm wrong
As for control warrior, it's not really a big deal. According to the latest VS data report, the popularity of control warrior is 7.5%. Giants-based mages had a net popularity of ~14%. Non mirror hunters had a 10% popularity. Quest shaman 9%; rogues 10.5%; quest druids 6.7; zoo 5.5% (all of these are good matchups). Even if you lose all your control warrior games, you've got a whole load of good ones that more than make up for it
Tempostorm has a bomb warrior list that's much like this one. I'd like to cut the warpaths, brawl, woodcutter axe, and eleks for 2 rovers, 2 frothing berserker, and 2 bloods worn mercs. From there maybe get a Gromm and 2 inner rage in. Armorsmiths over flunky. Just my 2 cents. Think this needs more tempo.
So I've tried to get it to work in Druid and can only conclude that it is too clunky there. Overflow is actually a problem as your hand is usually not empty enough, but you need Dreampetal Florist to hit the right cards and even when you do, you only get the one board and if they manage to deal with it, that's it.
With my rogue deck, you can reload the board with obelisks if they manage to deal with it.
I might try it some more later on, with Obelisk purely as an alternate win con if nothing else works.
I would love something like this for casual use. I've hosted a number of Fireside Gatherings, and a couple times we attempted a small tourney. It's really hard to create and run a simple bracket efficiently.

Just because cards are bad in general doesn't mean they can't interact to become viable. Hare might be bad, but with Spirit it is able to triple buff. I've easily taken down oponentswith a 5/7 tortoise for 3, etc.
This is a really great fun deck. Thanks for making this.
In my games i changed some cards, trying to lean more on healing and add some tech vs secrets. Worked with varying success on Rank 5, but when it did work, damn it was satisfying.
Most opponent really don't expect this kind of deck at the moment.
Sadly it seems like they've not fixed the bugged Mecha Jaraxxus starting animation nor Nemsy's potrait. I know that those are not priority bugs, but I find them really annoying considering how polish HS as always been overall.
What bug with mecha Jaraxxus? Do you mean the different intro animation?
Don't know how to feel about this. On the one hand it can be looked at like they're testing the waters in China without risking damaging the Western market but at the same time, we have to wait while China gets to play that game mode?
In general, I think the lack of good beasts is a problem; the mech and demon options are just stronger.
Perhaps you could run Stonetusk Boar; if you want to play lots of small minions for History Buff. [Hearthstone Card (Soularium) Not Found] might be good as well, to draw a lot of cheap cards.
Amazing how? I don't think a single competitive deck runs her. Neither now nor pre-SoU.
Sometimes personal experience counts more than if some streamer used it in some mad deck
"Sometimes personal anecdote counts for more than statistics and a giant sample size"
Errr....... right.
Sometimes cards work for yourself that nobody else plays. Sometimes it's on a damn high level. My highest legend season which ended close to top 100 was with my Control Mage and good ol' Troggzor the Earthinator.
Control Mage was said to be a Tier 3-4 deck back then in GvG, Troggzor still is counted as a terrible card by the community, but oh boy, this card was beyond great in the meta back then and still no one played
Surprisingly bad decks?

It has definitely been surprisingly bad so far.

Thanks dib! Nice fined.

Pretty sure Zephry's hotfix was a server side patch that already went live. But, I could be mistaken.
Shadowmoon Valley
The first season card back I earned and still my default for all Warlock decks.

Beast Zoo (Warlock, looking for improvements)
If you're playing handbuff, Doubling Imp is really good. But... not a beast.
Maybe play it anyway, plus Nightmare Amalgam and Sense Demons. Although that may be too slow for a zoo deck.
In general, I think the lack of good beasts is a problem; the mech and demon options are just stronger.
