Now you only need to find a way to produce the 7th copy and kill your Herald Volazj with the 1 mana left after you played it + 3 Cultists. (you need to have ONLY the 7 cultists on board)
Are you going to change Frozen Reflections? Btw, it's great that you still update this class with new content. Great work :)
No, probably not. I don't think I'll change cards I made based on cards revealed after I made them, unless I end up misjudging their power level to such a large degree. That's why Dust Typhoon, Parallel Dimensions, Timemage, and Chronomantic Arrow are still there. I may however need to change a card if it becomes broken with a future card, like what happened with Shadowboxer. The recently revealed Mogu Cultist seems to be significantly easier to activate here than all of the existing classes. Frozen Reflections also has better combo potential as well.
Here is how you do the combo. The only way I can think of that actually works:
+
But even that requires a lot of setup and you clearing your own board when you could have just played [Hearthstone Card (Mecha'thun) Not Found] or Pogo-Hopper
The Mogu Cultist reveal is pretty disappointing to me because usually when they reveal a card that obviously requires extra support (particularly a neutral card), they reveal something else that will help support it. Recent examples include the simultaneous reveal of Making Mummies and Murmy. Sure, there are some ways you might be able to do this in standard with the tools we know about (Rogue has various shuffle effects, Priest has various duplication effects). It's a cool meme, but it looks basically impossible today, and it would have been nice to see more support come with this.
Oh! It deals 20 damage to each entity, not 20 damage split between all of them. I'm not sure why I assumed the latter. This looks like the sort of card that will have me bent over my computer for hours, trying in vain to refine a deck for it. Lovely.
What if you put this in a Deathrattle-Combo Rogue deck.
With Anka you can make a bunch of very strong deathrattle cards much more effective (Deranged Doctor, Arena Treasure Chest) which might be enough to help you survive until you draw this + Togwaggle's Scheme, at which point you either just shuffle or combine it with Tak to get it into your hand immediately.
You could even tech against Control Warrior by including a second Scheme so after you summon Ra you can shuffle more copies into your deck which means Warrior will take 20 damage every turn which should be enough to kill them eventually.
Someone pointed out a cute use on another site: Amalgam with things magnetized to it is still a totem. I don't think that's good enough for this card to be played, but it's kind of neat.
That's actually pretty neat, and it curves. Question is, how good is a 4-mana 3/2 weapon that summons a 3/1 or 3/2?
Perhaps the fact that this card even exists and possibly coming down on T4 (or being followed up by Bloodlust) is enough of a threat that your opponents will be forced into dealing with your early board. If your opponent isn't an aggro deck, perceived threats are often enough to bait your opponent into a misplay.
Obligatory trash neutral epic of the set, but a great improvement from something like Gurubashi Offering. This one will at least produce a bunch of fun videos and a nice challenge for people looking to meme.
Any other monsters in the comment section hoping (like me) for a video where Highkeeper Ra is summoned only for the opponent to play Faceless Manipulator on it?

Riftcleaver (1): Has some limitations since you're obligated to kill something when you play this. Otherwise it's insane.
EVIL Recruiter (3): Without ROS lackey support, the new set needs to show me more lackeys before I give this the disgusting (1) rating it most certainly will warrant.
Hunter's Pack (1): Draw 3 for 3. 1 card is guaranteed reach (weapon). Hunter beasts are also better then random neutrals. Secret is a bit of a crap shoot, but can still be good. Scary card.
Fishflinger (2): This is better then a generic 3/2 for 2 mana. You have initiative with both minions most likely and since Murlocs can buff each other, this potentially is quite beneficial with the initiative.
Bloodsworn Mercenary (1): Playable 3 drop with insane late game value. Really good card.
Anka, the Buried (3): Fair stat line with a slight negative battlecry. Deathrattles are delayed, so tempoing 1/1s won't be as effective on the immediate turn. The minion bodies might be more valuable then the 1/1s as well.
Arcane Flakmage (2): It's a 2 drop with upside. How often does Medivh's Valet go off ? Ya, it's not often.
Cloud Prince (3): Under statted drop with upside, but setting up and keeping the secret is difficult unless you plan to play this for 9 mana with a secret. Again, how often do you see secret synergy pulled off in Arena ? Not often.
Splitting Axe (3): Overpriced weapon for Shaman. Upside is weak as well unless we see better totems released this expansion.
Whirlkick Master (3): Cheap value card for Rogue. Not a big fan of the stat line but a 2 mana minion that cycles itself and is used as a combo activator can find a spot in some drafts.
Hooked Scimitar (1): Great tempo play, similar to Perditions the turn you play it, but stronger over 2 turns. Will be a great coin turn 2 against opposing 3 drops.
Tortollan Pilgrim (4): The oriignal 8 mana 5/4 turtle was a bit better since it doesn't require the spell condition and can dig spells outside your deck. If you played or drew your spells before playing this - it's a 8 mana 5/5.
Nice explanation. I would give you more upvotes, if I could.
Like I said in my previous post (I have edited it, so you probably didn't see it), I suspect that the things you wrote in your second paragraph most likely reflect the reality. But on a second thought, I am almost 100% sure that the Cultist's code is really based on an "if" conditional. I guess that minions with a targeted destructive battlecry or a combo (Vilespine Slayer) are coded differently and only the animation triggers twice like you suspect.
Fair enough! FWIW, if this card was 1-mana, I think it'd be very good instead of basically unplayable. To me, 2 mana feels too expensive for a combo activator that can sometimes double dip. Especially considering we only have 30 cards to play.
I recently got the "Explorer's Kit" achievement. What is that?
Achievements are not officially out yet. You get the points and the notifications for them, but thats about it. I believe Flux is planning to reset them anyway once we have the full release.
Mogu Cultist (5): Bad 1-drop and ability that will never trigger. Pass.
Unless you're playing against Kripparrian.
I honestly dont believe this will ever happen in arena, it just will not. You dont even get offered enough tools to have enough of them in a first place. Only way is with Togwaggle's Scheme, but your opponent would have to let you do it :)
As far as I'm aware there's not any other meta poisonous minions (I may be wrong though). I was just talking about in the current state of the game it'd be pretty solid

Brann, Brann and Alexstrasza Walk Into a Bar
I like seeing these new experimental decks. Looks like fun. From a flavor standpoint though weird to see a "highlander" deck with two Brann's in it.

Will Highkeeper Ra be generated by cards like [Hearthstone Card (Conjurer’s calling?) Not Found]
New Mage Minion - Tortollan Pilgrim
It would be too dangerous, you could summon more minions for your enemy
New Neutral Minion - Mogu Cultist
My thoughts exactly
Uldum Mage Card Reveal - Tortollan Pilgrim
Nice to get a body out of this, and it's a better one than the last turtle.
Situations I can see it:
1. I'm desperate for AOE spell.
2. This is the only big minion so far (maybe one or two others slipped by) and I could use my discount from Pocket Galaxy.
3. One big minion, one Pyroblast (dice roll).
4. All I got is a Pyroblast buried under what's left of the deck, and we're at lethal here (dice roll).

I am pretty sure it's not viable in Control Warrior, but you could also get to 7 Mogu Cultists by using Dead Man's Hand a few times.
