I don't have a clue either as to how and what is coming, and I fully agree with you on possible balance issue with obviously broken game design, but ... They wouldn't have went that far in their development of the idea if there wasn't anything to support said idea. I'm as perplexed as you are, but even more puzzled seeing everyone jumping to the conclusion that rogue will make it work. Only time will tell, but to me, it seems very likely that more duplication tools are to be revealed. But what exactly? We can only speculate for now.
I think that priest will be decent in SoU, Resurrect Priest mainly... I don't really see any other archetypes being played although quest priest would be good, soon to be confirmed...
Also how can i create a thread on mobile because i've been looking for the same question but for warlock?
Question is, how are they going to support flooding a board with copies of the same minion without making it absolutely broken. Because if you could just have a spell that says "copy target minion until your board is full", any big impactful minion you can stick will immediately win the game (Rag, anything with Charge, etc.). It can't be a coincidence that they'd make this and the Obelisk but how in the world they're going to support it I have no clue. Maybe, since this is a battlecry, they might make something that transforms all cards in your hand into copies of a minion on board? But then the Obelisk is still utterly atrocious cause it costs 5... Colour me perplexed.
Yeah, IF you can pull this off it's like a Deathwing that doesn't empty your hand, and also damages your opponent's face for 20. Your opponent would have to have an answer to remove this right away or it's likely game over.
I love cards like this that have a huge payoff, but a ton of risk and difficulty in trying to pull it off. Ex: The Darkness, Blood of The Ancient One
Even though "full board" is a bit ambiguos I'm going to assume it means you need 7 of these for it to work.
I think dormant creatures may actually help us trigger the cultist's battlecry. Reliquary Seeker states, that the player must have 6 other minions on the board, in order for the 1/1 to receive the buff. But if you go to the following page:
you would see, that dormant creatures narrow down the board space and the seeker gets buffed regardless, if you control 5 minions or less. Another example would be the case with Mind Control Tech, where the battlecry doesn't activate, if you have only 3 minions and a permanent. All of the above makes me believe, that the condition could be cheated by having a bunch of dormant creatures on the board.
I want to believe that some more support to copy, duplicate and multiply your minions are coming. This - and Desert Obelisk - can't only rely on Faceless Manipulator and Togwaggle's Scheme. If it was the case, it would have been a rogue class card, right?
With Jepetto Joybuzz (and maybe a Baleful Banker in case you draw Glinda first) you should be able to pull this off in one turn. 1 mana for the 1/1 Glinda. 6 mana for the six Mogu's. 1 mana for Grim Rally. 1 mana for the last Mogu.
You even have 1 mana left for a 1 mana 1/1 Faceless Manipulator to get two Ra's for 40 damage.
Got it! Makes sense. Most people do tend to react to cards as to where they can fit in current builds rather than their potential elsewhere so I just assumed...
Although I am finding more and more I agree with a lot of other commentators that this set has huge potential to slow into some older Wild decks. Thought that initially with this card and Sulfuras Quest Warrior, and more and more give me that feeling too. Like the Mage card that does 6 damage if you control a secret... It's a bit of a power creeped Medivh's Valet, but it's 5 mana so it could take a slot in both the current Wild Secret Mage lists or even in an Odd Mage list for extra burst/burn. And if they purposefully tried to make this set tie in well to some old, less powerful Wild decks in an effort to shake up that meta as well as Standard's, then that is just brilliant on Team 5's part.
First of all, like the case with the obelisk I really appreciate the fantasy we can see in the cultist. Performing some kind of a ritual, where 7 people sacrifice their lives, in order to summon a deity and then an enchantress steps in, which enhances the power of that god. I can't find words to express how fun it is seeing such mechanics in the game.
As far as gameplay goes, I have a hard time believing that this would replace Mecha'thun decks if we don't see more support for it. But since no one dared to asks questions, I would like to ask two:
- How would the cultis's battlecry interact with The Heart of Vir'naal? Would we see two deities or only one, cuz the second battlecry would trigger after the first wave of cultists die.
- What does a full board mean? May I abuse it with dormant creatures like The Darkness or sherazin?
You don't need the second Cultist: I just tested it vs the Innkeeper and the echo copy remains in your hand when Glinda is destroyed, it just won't create another echo when played.
Uldum Card Reveal - Mogu Cultist
Yeah it can't, but don't worry: Mountain Giant won't let you down Kappa

This doesn’t need any support! It‘s a neutral 1 mana minion. Just thinking pogo.
Tak Nozwhisker + Toggwaggles scheme and you have 7 of those beautys in your Hand.
Gonna try day 1
Saviors of Uldum
That feature is not yet implemented but it is definitely coming!
Uldum Mage Card Reveals - Cloud Prince & Arcane Flakmage
Yay! finnaly Secret Mage has a tech card against those Odd Paladins in wild.
And the 4/4 that casts Fireball seems very sweet too :D
Priest in Saviors of Uldum

This double reveal season is getting me hyped!!

Holy shit that's pretty crazy. Not too hard to pull off either. If your opponent has 20 or less health left when you trigger this it is gg.

Uldum Shaman Card Reveal - Splitting Axe
Unless another strong totem is added, I don't see why this is 4 cost. Maybe it'd be worth it if it was after swinging but as a battlecry? Meh

You can duplicate Glinda with Expired Merchant and Soulwarden, so if she doesn't stick right away, you can try again.

HS Gods Battle Royale!
Who will win? Thaddius, V-07-TR-0N, The Ancient One, The Darkness, or Highkeeper Ra!
New Neutral Minion - Mogu Cultist
I'd imagine it only summons one Highkeeper Ra, but who knows? A similar interaction could be tested now with Blood of The Ancient One and Drakkari Enchanter which might give some insight on the interaction.
Even though "full board" is a bit ambiguos I'm going to assume it means you need 7 of these for it to work.
