Also, I'm pretty sure Elise is now officially the most reoccurring character in Hearthstone. She has three cards of her own, is a playable hero, is the main character in a trailer (un'goro) and is also present on the card art of the last kaleidosaur (and possibly others I'm forgetting). All that is missing is a hero card and maybe a spell with her name in it.
On the other hand I'd quite like to see some Neutral Support for the Highlander Playstyle. Reno Mage and Reno Warlock are really the only two decks that work efficiently, and Reno Mage isn't up to much at the moment.
Since Highlanders decks typically tend to be Control archetypes, I expect the 5th card to be a neutral tool that helps to stabilize the game.
Something on the line of Kazakus, as someone above me mentioned, but not necessarily with the same role. I mean, Kazakus was pretty cool and allowed a lot of singleton decks to be viable, but maybe this time we will get something less "broken"/meta defining.
Why's that? Play this on curve, discard a giant. It dies the next turn and you get 2 giants bringing you closer to playing one them. I get that if you leave it too long the giant will only cost a few mana but early enough it could be good.
I can see some funky combos with Faceless Manipulator after playing this and then killing it yourself somehow to fill your hand with some specific card.
I would like to see a Shaman highlander card. Just because i am a big shaman fan! (My most played cass)
But i would recommend Blizzard to make a neutral highlander card. All classes can use it and maybe it will make the other ones from Mage, Hunter, Druid and Paladin even better.
I don't see any reason (in standard) to play the new Reno or even the new Elise. Brann und Sir Finley maybe worth it to build arround them in standard.
Give us some spicy highlander neutral shit, like Reno Jackson was in LoE!
My bet is either a Neutral Harrison Jones or a Warlock card, since Rafaam is also a returning character from LoE, plus the fact that Expired Merchant seems good for Highlander.
Well i do not play wild so i can only speak from the experience i had when Big Priest was in Standard.
Priest is my main Class - i have the most played games and wins with it than any other class. It was also my first golden class. At the time Big Priest was in standard i also played it. Sure i played lots of different Priest decks but also a lot of Big Priest.
I played it because i kinda liked the deck and the idea behind it. Sure not everyone is a fan of "Cheating" out a big minion early but it also happend that you never drew Barnes early enough - and if you had a bad start you would've lost most of the time and even tough i do not play wild im pretty sure that it`s still the same ?
So for the time Big Priest was in Standard i kinda like playing it because i love the Huge Swing Turns you could do - but everyone should play what they like and have fun - and you should not Stop playing something you like just because other people say it´s trash or stupid!
Expired Merchant (1): Pretty much does not matter what you discard, you will get good value back. Only problem is that it is a really crappy stat line, so you cant be really happy playing it on curve. There arent that many silence/transform effects and if your opponent is spending those resources on a 2/1 minion, id say the discard was already worth it.
I dont know man, this is very disappointing to be honest... i just hope they will print some supporting tech cards otherwise all of highlander decks gonna be doomed vs bomb warrior.
Just pre-ordered the "small" package with 50 Packs because i will have enough gold to buy at least another 50 and i always have around 100-130 packs at the beginning.
Blizz finally realized that quite often losing cards = bad, no matter the upside of discarding. These targeted discards certainly add depth to the mechanic.
The Four Legendary Explorers of Saviors of Uldum Have Been Revealed!
Hearthstone logic:
Murloc on a scarab(?) -> 2/3
Dwarf on a huge carnivorous dinosaur -> 2/4

New Warlock Minion - Expired Merchant
If you combine this with soulwarden.. do you get a third copy as well? This could be awesome
The Explorers Aren't the Only Highlanders in Town - One More to be Revealed for Saviors of Uldum
One... just one...
Yeah I don't think that's going to be enough to make these cards playable just yet.
Especially Brann.

Ummmm... Harrison Jones is already a Neutral card? 🤔

We'll see
PapaJason's Mech Paladin
Mirror Matches are out of control. It's a race to Kangor's. I would tech a silence if it became a popular deck.
New Uldum Warlock Card Reveal - Expired Merchant
That's a really solid card

Highlander will be useless if there are not more tools to disrupt/prevent bomb warriors putting multiple bombs in your deck.
New Uldum Warlock Card Reveal - Expired Merchant
You'd have to either have a small hand, or low cost cards for the Mountain Giant to work.

I can see some funky combos with Faceless Manipulator after playing this and then killing it yourself somehow to fill your hand with some specific card.
New Hunter Minion - Dinotamer Brann
If you have another Brann in wild, they both can ride a dino.

I'm betting it would be a Kazakus-ish legendary that will truly enable highlander decks in standard

And you get a Jeklik and you get a Jeklik, everybody gets a High Priestess Jeklik! :D
New Uldum Warlock Card Reveal - Expired Merchant
Looks good, you will be sad if it gets silenced, at least you can mortal coil/defile if you really want the card you discarded
great if your most expensive card is jeklik, then you get 4 jekliks!
Saviors of Uldum: Arena Impact

Ya, good call. I forgot about Spiritsinger Umbra. Expired Merchant might end up being included in cubelock.
