Just imagine the feeling when you play this, expecting to get two copies of Bloodreaver Gul'dan, and your opponent coins out Ironbeak Owl. Bottom right, folks.
2-mana 2/1 with 'Deathrattle: Draw A Card' is a decent and playable minion. This is probably better in non-combo control decks, since it won't draw you deeper into fatigue, but it is HORRIBLY weak against silence. In something like Zoo, you'll probably double a Magic Carpet or Leeroy Jenkins or such. Maybe Sea Giant. Typically stuff you'd be glad to have an extra of. Key card to make decks work? Maybe not, but seems like it'd be an easy-to-include 2-drop.
I agree, a neutral minion with "Battlecry: Destroy all duplicate cards in your deck." is my prediction, if they actually care about making highlander work in standard. Which I assume, they do.
Random Baku effect by round 2 with highlander instead of odd limitation?....good...paladin? meh.
What's the worst 3 HP one can discover?
Rogue/Warrior/Priest? This depends a lot on context, it will be worth waiting a few turns to learn about the opponent's game before calling this little guy and making a decision. Interesting though!
Serious chance to discover Paladin or Mage which are GG in any case.
It's going to be an interesting card.
Shame he does't combine with the other heropower boosts tho..they were cautious with him and [Hearthstone Card (Justicar) Not Found] to prevent reaching a hypothetical level 3 HP by overwriting the base HP...
Alright, screw everything else, this is now the only card from the set I care about. This fits so well into my Wild Questlock. Finally I no lonoger have to pray to not discard Gul'dan because I can jus do it intentionally and get double back as well.
@brownhackwtf and others: Regarding the Highlander design: it looks they've only printed cards to support "the good side", while Reborn concept features "the villains".
I'm inclined towards a neutral legendary too, for thematic and technical reasons. The five villain classes already had their time in the spotlight last time. The new highlander class cards, with the possible exception of Sir Finley of the Sands, do not do enough by themselves to justify the deck restriction in standard, so I'm hoping for something between Kazakus and Reno Jackson in impact.
Side note: I look forward to seeing what a wild Reno² Mage would look like with 5(?) highlander cards.
Don't forget Direhorn Hatchling, and with all the deathrattles we might as well want N'Zoth, the Corruptor in the deck. Now, Primordial Drake is probably in the deck already as an activator for Acolyte of Pain, Battle Rage, Execute, and Sleep with the Fishes, so I'm thinking The Curator, a taunt, could work as card draw. Now we just slap Chillmaw in there because it has taunt, dragon tag and a deathrattle and I think a Taunt Deathrattle Beast Dragon Warrior could be, well, not good, but a bit better than it sounds like.
Reposting my theory from the Comic Con news post: I'm starting to believe that they will print something like "destroy cards that didn't start in your deck" or "destroy all duplicates" tech card, just because Bomb Warrior would counter all these Highlander strategies so hard if they didn't.
It would also make sense if they first gave the impression that the four explorers were the only highlander cards, but then realized that this unrevealed card definitely supports highlander without actually being one itself. Or maybe it's all just my hopeful thinking, I kinda want highlander to be a thing again in Standard as well.
I kinda expected this card would work with the Giants' base cost but yeah I might be wrong. Still if you play this on-curve, the giant should have decent odds to be your highest cost card.
I hope cubelock will start playing a more aggressive version, without Voidlord and N'Zoth, the Corruptor to focus on raw damage with multiple waves of Doomguard! That would be interesting!
EDIT: Wait a second, we just got an easy way of getting infinite Cruel Dinomancer... MMH...
DOUBLE EDIT: Okay, I just made a deck based on this interaction, give me your idea
My bet is either a Neutral Harrison Jones or a Warlock card, since Rafaam is also a returning character from LoE, plus the fact that Expired Merchant seems good for Highlander.
I’d imagine it’d definitely be neutral, since it’s pretty much the good guys’ mechanic this time (kind of like how only the defenders of Dalaran got Twinspell, whereas the bad guys got lackeys). It’d make sense since there was just the one lackey generator for neutra
Don't let losing streak get you down
Was looking at deck tracker earlier after I managed to get my goal of rank 5 on NA, EU and Asia.
Damn that's bad winrate :)
But then the page up is a massive winning streak (though to be fair I changed deck 9 games in):
Lesson I learned - don't be disheartened if things aren't going well - take a break, consider meta, keep going and try to have fun!
How do you deal with it when things aren't going well?
The Four Legendary Explorers of Saviors of Uldum Have Been Revealed!
The new cards clearly state "the deck has no duplicate", not "the starting deck".
Has anyone confirmed if it will be possible to "pollute" a deck by injecting bombs/portals/rabbits/whatnot and kill the Highlander effect?
If this is the case, these cards all suck and Bomb Warrior is stronger than ever...

Not relegated to minions or spells alone? Great card, will definitely see play, maybe moreso in renolock in wild, but this is a good card
The Explorers Aren't the Only Highlanders in Town - One More to be Revealed for Saviors of Uldum
Told ya. B-)
I hope for a versatile card like Kazakus, more than old Reno (who is a boring card).

New Paladin Minion - Sir Finley of the Sands
I love this guy. Body and effect.

Damn, this card actually makes me feel bad about dusting Jeklik 😭
Have you pre-ordered the expansion yet?
no

Highlander Mill Mage (Saviors of Uldum edition)
Ooof, that sucks. It happens rarely though
Expired Merchant
Seems like a decent discard mechanic for straight value or possible combo enabler.
New Uldum Warlock Card Reveal - Expired Merchant
This is such a great card for Wild Renolock. N'Zoth, the Corruptor, Voidlord, Bloodreaver Gul'dan, Mal'Ganis. GG Blizz. Well played.
The Explorers Aren't the Only Highlanders in Town - One More to be Revealed for Saviors of Uldum
If it's not a neutral then the entire HIghlander archetype is dead on arrival
New Druid Minion - Elise the Enlightened
Probably best explorer of all 4.
The Explorers Aren't the Only Highlanders in Town - One More to be Revealed for Saviors of Uldum
'Destroy all duplicates' seems reasonable and necessary.

It will probably be a neutral one, just like Kazakus was.
I hope it will be as powerful as Reno Jackson was, otherwise, highlander will just be a useless mechanic in standard.
New Warlock Minion - Expired Merchant
Oooh boy!
