I think the meta is very good atm. Even for a mostly single class player like me, I have enough interesting stuff to try as mage. I fool around with jepetto, galaxy spell, cyclones, tempo variants, mechs, otk's its all viable. For instance, lately I just wanted to try a cyclone/mech/giant fusion deck so I put in the giants, conjures calling, a lot of cheap mechs, some card draw, some silence, some aoe and some antonidas and tried it out on level 10. Won first 3 games with it. Had a lot of fun too. Then realized the cyclones were not doing much in the deck so I replaced them by more mechs. Even more fun! Feels good to out-mech a mech hunter lol.
To make it good this should cost less (with less stats) like 3 to 5 mana, then it would see play. As of now it should be too slow against the faster decks and not enough against the greedy decks.
I took it as a checkpoint to mark their design philosophy taking these rules more seriously from now on. The rotation of Mind Blast and Vanish seems to match the ideology they are trying to push forward. Blizzard has broken these rules in the past, obviously, but that might not have been ideal.
I think they are doing the opposite of what the Year of the Mammoth did; instead of merging most classes' strengths and weaknesses together and letting each deck be its own thing, they are pushing each class towards its own thing and making it more unique.
Of course, we'll have to wait until the next set to see if this is correct or not, but I am expecting none of the imposed weaknesses or limitations of each class to be 'fixed' by the upcoming cards.
do you think it would be a good Idea to add hagatha for some extra boost in the late game. it would also help you to keep up with the other deathknights.
This card is too expensive for a token deck. You should have played your game much before turn 8, because at turn 8 most of classes have got enough board clear to overcome the token generation. I think it's unplayable.
for those of you who are saying "LOL this class does not have this weakness because one card, DuH". a class weakness does not mean that in all of hearthstone ever they cannot have one/two cards that can give them that.
Basically this, guys. These aren't hard and fast rules that they must always adhere to strictly. They're general guidelines that can be toyed with to fit whatever fantasy the current set of expacs are selling.
I get those are no hard rules but why bring them out at all, just be sincere and say "we can't balance vanish and mind blast so we're gonna dump em into wild, cya"
That's easy to do. Just don't look at the front page (myself I link to the forum so I have to purposely click there, which I usually forget) and don't watch all of those card reviews that go around which is easy given that those reviewers also put out normal content AND there's 1000000 other videos put up every day to watch instead.
GET READY FOR THE HYPE, TONY! THE HYPE TRAIN IS COMIN'! WOO WOO!
I already ignore it all, I was just hoping maybe there was a possibility that people this time around would get into some other type of hype. I suspect I am not like most players and I don't get into the theorycrafting, mostly because it's all so.... theoretical. I like being able to try things out and experiment with real games. Lots of people, I think, get into both. So, of course, I hope all the theorists have fun theorizing if that's their thing.
Kel'Thuzad was never very good. Revenge of the Wild hasn't found a way to be very good. I think we might be at the point where we can reasonably say that these effects aren't very good.
It's not horrible in the current iteration of beast hunter b/c you have so many rush&charge beasts, which make it easier to set up and allow you to double-dip on attacks. I'd say it juuuust barely misses the cut for the standard ladder version of the deck.
You're making my point for me. Revenge of the Wild is a MUCH better card than this and it still isn't played. More often than not, this type of effect only encourages bad trades.
One thing I've learned from years of playing Hearthstone, never underestimate the effectiveness of resurrection effects. Especially on a card that is evergreen. This card value will vary from rotation to rotation.

This is incredible! I certainly did not expect this. This kind of approach can solve the Classic set issue of being evergreen. Rotate and print new cards. So that the Classic set itself feels fresh! Awesome!

for example, people are laughing at shamans 'bad card generation'. but without hagatha the witch, kragwa, and underbelly angler, they really don't have very good card advantage, and kragwa and underbelly are only viable in one/two decks. and no, cards like shudderwock, and hagatha number 2 don't count because they generate value, they don't add cards to your hand.
and all those cards are adventure cards, but in the core of shaman, there is not much card draw outside of manatide totem, which is kind of really bad.
Anyway they made those cards so what's the point of bringing up class identity when they feel like it and turn a blind eye to other cards?
I expect most of these to be pretty underwhelming, even in Arena. Of the lot I'd say the SI:7 is the best card, just a solid 5/4 for 4 with potential upside, runner up is the Siegebreaker. Th other minions are understatted and/or situational. Sure, if you see a Whitemane it's probably going to be the best pick in the bucket but it's no Lich King; if you want good value from it you need a board that you can trade into enemy minions. That brings me to Righteousness and Gift of the Wild, both of which are win-more cards. I expect them to have a low win rate and a disproportionately high played win rate, because if you do manage to land either one that's game over.
Yeah, kinda my point. Those cards are certainly win more cards, one could almost say win now cards and you do want some cards like these in your deck. Hell, Savage Roar or Bloodlust are such cards and you pick them regularly and win games off them. I am a bit sceptical about Righteousness still, but Gift of the WIld i think will be a dark horse. Def agree with SI:7 being a great card on its own. Will see it a lot for sure, just due to its statline being an ok 4-drop with an upside.

New Neutral Minion - High Inquisitor Whitemane
I do not know about you guys but I would like to prefer for them to use this artwork of her instead of the above. She's more spicy here. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Just for the record, the artwork is Blizzard official too.

Anyone else think the recent post about class pros/cons is incredibly lopsided?

Stone Wagon Druid
Wow. That game was awesome! I especially like how long the second Summoning Stone stayed alive.

New Neutral Minion - Arcane Devourer
1/5
New Paladin Spell - Righteousness
Costs too much otherwise it would be broken. Likely won't see play 2/5.
Here's some art, make a card! [Legacy Game]
Making Freeze Shaman cards is sick itself!
Name it Despacito Spider. The rest is yours.
New Warlock Minion - Siegebreaker
Decent card, won't see play at the moment, but maybe Blizz will push demon warlock in the future.
New Neutral Minion - High Inquisitor Whitemane

I think I found a bug
Oblivitron didn't summon my Clockwork Gnome, even though it's the only mech in my hand. Clockwork Gnome was created by Shifting Chameleon from the Pet Training hero power.
New Rogue Minion - Plaguebringer
This. Although the combo with Wild Pyromancer is nice, too, if Control Rogue is ever a thing.
However, a Sap-like with Twinspell or a minion with Sap effect (other than Kidnapper, I mean) would have been nice replacements for Vanish.
