  • Could wild cards be returning to standard format?

    Quote From RavenSunHS

They could temporarily rotate small packages of Wild cards, similarly to how they buffed Boomsday cards. To shake things up between expansions.

But the day they start recycling cards instead of printing new ones, it will be a bad signal of decay...

I doubt they will ever enlarge the Evergreen set.

I guess that means MTG has been decaying for 15+ years

  • [Game] Name another card that has the same...

    Harvest Golem

has a deathrattle that summons a smaller minion

  • Here's some art, make a card! [Legacy Game]

I can't get the image to appear on my card. but this is what I made, I am not sure if I am allowed to give the next art because I am technically not using the art you gave.

Why would that be a sign of decay? People who say this have seemingly never played a game before much less a collectible card game. Magic the Gathering has been going for many many years and constantly recycle cards. Not only do they straight up reprint cards to bring them back but they frequently do functional reprints where the card text is identical and it just has a different name and art. It is a REALLY great way to bring back old cards that might be played differently in a new format and interact interestingly with newer cards. There is no reason why Blizzard shouldn't be doing this. It is a way to keep a rotating format healthy.

The idea of the deck is nice, but it just doesn't work out for me. First off, my hand is always full, most of the time there is no way to play Shudderwock without losing a lot of value. So I swapped the 2 Elementary Reactions with Zentimo and Storm Chaser (I know it's another card that draws a card, but couldn't come up with a better substutite). Still having hand size issues.

The other problem is that Big Game Hunter and The Black Knight hardly ever hit, at least at Rank 5.

    Anyway, thanks for sharing!

BGH is for mage giant matchups and TBK is for really any matchup. Zilliak is in numerous decks.  Just because you aren't getting "value" from them doesn't mean they don't belong in the deck.  Dont forget you gain those battlecries on Shudderwock, so even if you "miss" them and play them on a vanilla board, it doesn't mean you can't get value later.

  • Toki's Wild Bundle Now Available - 56 Wild Card Packs on the Cheap

    Quote From Kronos

This is really dirty. The pity timer is 10 packs and they only give you 8 packs each if you never got cards from the expansion before. I have bought from all these older expansions and will not spend the money on this. AND if you didn't didn't play any of these expansions you will miss the pity timer by 2 packs. The first 10 packs are supposed to give you a legendary but most of the time the pity timer triggers at 10 packs instead. This is the biggest scam I have ever witnessed Blizzard doing so far. This is worse than the hero locked behind 80 euros. They just couldn't be damned to give two extra packs could they??? So scummy my god. Why are you people upvoting comments favoring this? There is so many new players that didn't buy these cards before that will miss the pity timer by only 2 packs. It's disgusting.

If you are opening the first 10 packs of an expansion you will get a legendary somewhere in those 10 packs. You don't need to open 10 packs. Sometimes I have had my first legendary show up in pack 2 or 3.

... I still have f2p packs from TGT...

Nice work.  I still have yet to get there myself.  I think the highest I have got is 7.  So you got my number.

  • Could wild cards be returning to standard format?

You just have to look at how Pokemon and MTG have done with their continual reprint of out of print cards... Yeah, it pisses off a number of old school players. BUT, it also makes those cards more readily available and in this case usable for new and standard players.  What it comes down to is, if they reprint, they will ultimately make more money.  That's the name of the game.  Besides, even if cards come back into circulation, they only have a shelf life in standard for 2 years at most.

  • [Game] Name another card that has the same...

    Infested Tauren

Another 2/3 that costs more than 3 Mana

  • Could wild cards be returning to standard format?

Thanks for the replies, some very valid arguments and opinions. The only reason I got round to this question was when I thought about whether the bundle appealed to me and it didn't so i begun to think about who it did appeal to and i came up with collectors and people wanting to get into the wild format. This seems like a small pool of potential buyers so it got me thinking that maybe there was another reason. Personally i would like to see new cards too instead of rehashes but blizzard have u-turned on decisions before so while not a likely idea, certainly plausible. thanks again

This decks looks fine (I also climbed with Control Shaman this season, but a Thunderhead variant because its stronger vs Aggro). I personally think Unseen Saboteur is almost an obligatory card in Control Shaman. It turns Mecha'thun decks, mainly Warrior, and Holy Wrath Paladin from a near auto-loss to a favorable match-ups.

  • What is the meaning of interactive deck?

"A recent example of un-interactive gameplay: Baku Rogue v. Baku Warrior
    - There was almost no way for Baku Rogue to out damage the hero power of Baku Warrior. And since the most impactful thing Warrior could do on most turns was to hit the hero power button, and the game doesn't provide a way to interact with hero powers, the game was not very interactive"

There are ways to interact with the Hero Power though. Sideshow Spelleater is one and that dude with the mad Yu-gi-oh Hair that stops your Hero Powers from working.

I wish Blizzard would release more cards like that, and Sir Finley Mrrgglton of course. But that's allowing you to choose a new Hero Power rather than interacting. Potato Potatoe.

  • Could wild cards be returning to standard format?

They should probably create new format instead just Standard and Wild, like MTG (but not so many), using different kind of set for each one so that everyone can play what they enjoy the most.

Readding old set to Standard may be good for Arena but not for Ladder: the meta is already pretty boring as it always has been in Standard, no need to see again old strategies and combos from the past years.

  • Toki's Wild Bundle Now Available - 56 Wild Card Packs on the Cheap

Since all of the wild stuff is not available in-game, I would guess that the answer is "nope".

  • First Time Legend!

Congratulations!  It's a tough grind, good for you for sticking it out.  The mental focus is the hardest part.

  • What is the meaning of interactive deck?

Hearthstone by its design is not exactly what I would call 'interactive.'  Unlike MtG, the attacker chooses the defenders, and so normally when you hear people talk about interactive vs non interactive decks, they're talking about one of two things generally.

#1 Aggro/Tempo decks - these are 'non interactive' in the sense that the whole goal is to kill the opponent as fast as possible and/or to seize tempo and never let go.  1-drop on 1, 2-drop on 2, 3-drop on 3, etc, and only trade if not trading would mean less total damage over time. They feel 'non interactive' because the defending player will try to contest the board with minions, which the aggro/tempo player will simply ignore.

#2 Combo decks - these are 'non interactive' in the sense that their win condition has nothing to do with the board state, and everything to do with simply drawing the right cards before they're dead.  They feel 'non interactive' because the opponent usually can do very little to prevent their opponent from winning, once the combo has been drawn.

Everything else is either 'interactive' or someone being salty about a loss.

edit: I don't generally consider control decks to be 'non interactive' (though they've been accused of being such, usually by aggro players...which control decks are generally made to beat anyways).

  • What is the meaning of interactive deck?

If my win/loss odds are almost entirely dependent on my draw and almost entirely independent of anything my opponent does, I have a non-interactive deck. I think the original Quest Rogue is a good example.

I'm curious if outof.cards will be the home for other cardgames as well? The name it self is so fitting.

That is the plan :) We already have a forum section for MTGA as a starting point, but will focus mainly on HS for now until we flesh out the core features for the site and the content for HS. Once basics are done it will be much easier to add other card games properly.

    Very good value for sure!

I don't have a need for it however, but this is the best value per pack we've ever seen.

If you see a warrior just pull your pants down and grab your ankles...  game over man. Might as well concede as soon as you can.
