My first experience with Magic was probably sometime around year 2000, I think Invasion and Planeshift sets were just out. Especially at the beginning it had always such a great atmosphere and at the time it was really unique.
I've had a lot of great times with the game, mostly palying with a group of friends at pubs, but also the local tournaments always had a great atmosphere, especially drafts - I don't think that any online game can ever have the same feeling as a real friendly draft tournament with group of friends - we always went to our favourite pub, everyone bought 3 boosters and then the number of wins would determine the order in which we took the cards at the end (so the best one went to the winner).
But then, once you no longer have time for these kind of events and you start playing it online, you usually find out that even though the game is still awesome, the atmospehere is no longer there and there are maybe even better options - that's why I started with HS like 3 years ago.
However I haven't tried MtG: Arena yet (just the classic MtG Online) and it sounds like they managed to do it quite well... so I think I'll try it soon :)
I think this was the easiest chapter yet (although none of them have been especially difficult with all the deck building advantages you get). I sailed through it first time through using the warrior. I'm a little disappointed that I have to wait until chapter 5 to unlock the paladin.
Certainly most fun I've had with single player content since Dungeon Run, so yeah, it's great. I kinda like the drip-feed apporoach they've taken with it too...holding backs classes and such. Just means the whole thing has felt more bite-sized.
My favorite combo so far is giving them 2 cursed cards, and making my right-most card cost 2 less so that way they waste the first 3 turns taking 10 damage, and by turn 4 I have played every card in my hand. it kills them fast.
I don't know, you only have 2 other minions in the deck so I think Sea Giant would be kinda card to get onto the field. whereas Molten Giant will be easy to cast because the deck does not have any taunts, heals, or removals so you will be taking a lot of damage.
I've been really enjoying this compared to previous solo content.
I've often found making suboptimal but interesting choices to be more fun than just blindly choosing OP stuff. Between the Tavern encounters and some of the stronger treasures, the game often incentivizes you to go big. But sometimes deviating from that archetype is just as, if not more fun. I had a Vim tempo rogue yesterday where I basically just abused lackeys to their fullest potential. Ended up dying to Heroic Goya but it was fun nonetheless.
Well i stopped playing MTG almost a year ago but i clearly remember my first impression i saw someone play:
"Woah that looks complicated - but hella fun!" - and with that i started playing and collecting - startet 1995 and played until 2005/2006 - took a break from it but started up again 2009.
Had lots of fun with friends and at tournaments but i somehow lost the "feeling" for it. Can't describe it more - i just did not have fun anymore playing it - maybe because i enjoyed Hearthstone way more idk ...
Long Story Short - i had lots of fun playing MTG and i will always have the memories of playing with my friends for about 10 Hours straight but right now i have way more fun with hearthstone!
I found it quite bad and way overpriced compared to previous free adventures like the Rumble in the past one.
1. It's way too repetitive and it uses too many of the same bosses in the first 5 bosses.
2. I spend my runs with gold and its not worth 700 gold chapter which also only awards 3 packs each
Basically imagine Taking the Rumble of the last expansion and putting a paywall behind every 2 heroes and then only having truly unique bosses in the final 3 bosses of the run. I would never recommend anyone to pay money for this. Just play the previous great adventure modes from other expansions.
This expansion especially milking the new Priest hero behind 80 dollars is just flat out disgusting in its business practices. There is zero reason to charge people 20 dollars for this. Objectively it does have the most content but that doesn't mean anything.
When I first started playing Magic I had already been playing Hearthstone for about a year and a half, so I was not going in blind. My first deck was a blue/green control deck splashing white, and it was terrible. It had about 70-75 cards with only 20 lands. It took me a while to understand about card advantage, and how important it is, and how to obtain it. I really enjoyed learning about the game, and figuring out how to build decks with a proper land-to-spell balance. It beats Hearthstone, DnD, Legend of Zelda, breath of the wild, Terraria, and every other game I play. It is definitely my favorite game out there, one thing that makes Magic so much better than hearthstone is the diversity of decks. Magic makes more sets in a year than Hearthstone and each set contains more cards. so more decks can be made, and it is also harder to obtain all the cards, so sometimes you are forced to play a different deck. Magic is such an amazing game, I don't know what I would be doing right now if I had never found it.
Right now we need a way to tell if a deck is in standard or wild when viewing decks. I know you can just hover over a card in the deck you're browsing but not everyone knows what expansion certain cards come from.
I like the diversity it brings and can't wait to finish all Chapters with each character on Normal and Heroic Difficulty ( even tough this one will be a pain in the *ss)
The list has a ton of greed, more than it ever needs. Between the bounces, Barista, Recruiter, Scheme, and Taz (as well as whatever is generated off the lackeys), there should be more than enough ways to grow the pogo hopper. I understand that having something to shuffle in the deck after Myra's is important, but surely we don't need 4 cards dedicated to that purpose? Probably would remove at least one Tak/Scheme, considering they're dead draws most of the time.
Serrated Tooth seems like a decent inclusion. It gives us a proactive turn 1 play, acts as another way to turn our hoppers into big rushing dudes and can combo with Miscreant and SI:7. And it doesn't interfere with our Piper.
EVIL Cable Rat also seems like a good card to include here. Lackeys are busted. Another generator for them means more tempo (or value if we roll etheral) and it combos nicely with Carpet and Shark.
With all of the wide decks on ladder, running 2 Fans might be warranted. That being said, the card is inflexible, so I can understand the reasoning behind only running one.
With 6 0-cost spells, a Shark, and lackeys, I'm tempted to suggest Edwin VanCleef here. The thought of highrolling and giving the opponent a big dumb body to deal with seems tempting. After all, more resources spent on our minions means less of those resources being redirected towards our face. That being said, the card definitely runs contrary to our gameplan, and doesn't really help with our worse agressive matchups.
I know it sounds like I'm just suggesting Tempo Rogue cards here. Sadly, I think that's the main way that we improve our potential winrate with this deck. This deck's main problem is securing the early game. Tempo Rogue cards are decent at doing just that. Our hoppers are worthless if we're dead by the time they can grow big enough to matter.
Yeah i really like it and also that they added new bosses for the 4th chapter. I also like the gimmicks and "chats" here and there. Still need to win heroic for violet hold and latest wing though ;-)
*Use this post buff* Mech paladin
I would not run cards that provide those 1/1 Mechs, it makes Kangor's Endless Army a lot worse.
Even "HandLock" - Wild
Is Glinda Crowskin for the endless Molten Giant army?

Edit: _highfive_
Hello everybody
Hey, I like the new site, too. The only problem is that they should improve the decks section.
Almost feel guilty about this one…

I was excited to read this until I found that none of it would include me.
Don't get me wrong, I am glad they are doing an event, but I won't be watching it.

Definitely a thing that needs to happen, QoL changes are always welcome.
