  • What was your first impression of Magic when you began playing?

Magic is great. I have played HS since beta and looking to move over to MTG Arena now. I have been only playing for a week and I have a lot more fun. The difficulty level is much higher and diverse. HS right now has Mech Hunter, Shaman Murlock, Secret Hunter and Token druid as T1 decks ( All this decks besides secret hunter are aggro token decks.) The decks can refill the board with sticky minions consistently based on (luck of the draw) The only deck that really puts them in check is control warrior which is 12k+ dust.  So decks that cost 1200 - 2500 dust to be countered by a 12k dust deck.

Nothing you listed is tier 1 and I believe your hearthstone experience is limited. There isn't any tier 1 aggro decks. In higher ranks you are much more likely to find a warlock than a druid, shaman, or even mech hunter. Currently mid range hunter, bomb warrior, rogue, and mage are the top meta decks. None of which are aggro. If you complain hearthstone is expensive get ready to bust your wallet even more with Magic.

They are the top decks played on HSreplay.

True that at higher legend ranks its a different sample of decks. However ranks 5-Legend you see them the most. I have a full collection so its not an issue of cost, however its an issue of interactions. If you could have a few budget control decks the game would be a little bit more diverse to new players. Yes magic is far more costly than hearthstone. However in magic to loose based on your choices of cards and plays more often than not. In hearthstone you can loose to a huge swing turn from Zuljin (example) Which is one card that swings the game. I can understand the swing from a multi-card combo, but from one card its feels awful. Omega Devastor feels awful to play against with charge and deal 10 dmg.

I made it to legend with Control warrior, Control Warlock when guldan was a thing and aids secret paladin with dr.6. So maybe i am just a little bored and burned out from HS.

HS replay is unreliable and has bad data. None of the professionals use it. The only good tab for is the trending tab. Do not use HS replay to find the best decks. The trending tab is the most accurate thing on the website. Refer to that if you want to see meta changes.

  • 12 Win Success Poll

    Yes (Mage was my first)

My 2nd arena run I ever done I got 12 wins. I don't play the mode much as it is a large time commitment to get to 12 wins. I always just spend my gold on packs and almost never do arena. I think I only played arena max 10 times and got 12 wins 3 times. I also played it smart and when I got to 10 wins I played at 6 in the morning. But like I said its a huge time investment and needs some planning to get 12 wins. I rather invest my time playing other modes.

Please do the world a favor and let Blizzard know that you are choosing Magic over Hearthstone because hero cards are not fun to play against.

I quit for a year because I was sick of Death Knights, and I only came back because they rotated out. The ongoing oppression of Dr. Boom still irks me. I don't get why they are so quick to realize that some cards are unfun, but this one gets to stay.

  • The Mechanical Invitational Is Next Week - June 4

I really hope this is leading up to a wider release of a new format for everyone. This sounds like an amazing format and so much fun to play.

  • Blizzard Clarifies the Upcoming June 3 Rise of the Mechs Update

middle of next month I think it will officially cease to be "live".

  • Blizzard Clarifies the Upcoming June 3 Rise of the Mechs Update

I actually use both of the shaman cards a lot anyway, so the fact they're getting a wee buff is glorious news. Going to be working on a new Token Shaman this weekend for some Storm Bringer fun (seriously though, there's definitely something there with a murloc/mech hybrid magic carpet list, running both 1 copy of blood lust and the storm bringer... maybe electra for double soul of murlocs or blood lust or something as well)

In general, the whole "buff" idea I think is great, and it's just an added bonus that I actively use some of the cards in my current deck building.

  • 12 Win Success Poll

Yes, once, long ago. I think it was Mage. I haven't played Arena in a long time.

  • Test

    Seems pretty good

  • Star Aligner Priest

I only ever managed to pull the Star Aligner effect during that brawl where cards costs where decreasing every turn.

I always found it extremely hard to combo but....boi when it happens!

  • Cheers!

Good luck to the moderators with the new site! Hope it will one day be a worthy successor to the previous site, cheers!

  • [Wild] Jurassic Park ft Deathwing

Hmm.. interesting.. I use this deck to many OTK combos like Star Align.. I'll try with Ragnaros too.. hehehe

  • Chef Nomi

Not won with it yet, but I manage to lose partly *because* I had it in my hand.

Playing against a Thief Priest, who milled himself faster than I did, then used Madame Lazul when I had 3 cards remaining, discovered and stole it from me...

    Well played! (facepalm)

  • Heist Heroes, Best Heroes

I've loved most of the villain heroes for the heist. Some of them are far and away the best for their class. In particular, Ol' Barkeye, who's just a lot of fun and a great concept, and Squeamlish, who is so cute and endearing, she doesn't even seem like a villain at all, just mislead by EVIL.

I really wish that the real reward for beating all chapters on heroic would have been to pick one of the heroes to use in other modes. Or, better yet, beat every chapter on heroic with a hero and keep them. That would be amazing!

Anybody else have favorites so far?

EDIT: Just fought Bonepaw with Squeamlish. He did his, "The bad guys are here!" intro and Squea, in a confused, somewhat hurt voice, responded with, "Me am not... bad guy..." :(

  • Storm Chaser

Just learnt the hard way that this can pull Bomb, which are annoyingly costed at 5 mana...

  • Wild decks?

just made decks and a lot of filters missing. No one will find new decks ^^. Cand search for wild, ratings a.s.o ...

  • Post-buff Pogo-Hopper Rogue

I personally used Jepetto Joybuzz with success so far, it helps pulling wabbits (and pre-buff, it gives them a 1-mana discount).

It can also help get a discount on Spirit of the Shark, too.

I found Daring Escape better value than Vanish, especially since the Prep nerf, although I may keep a single Vanish.

Also, why no Pandas? Especially the smaller ones are great value and cannot be drawn by Pipers any more post-buff .

Finally, one Augmented Elekk won't hurt either, considering it's got a good body.

  • [WILD] What about Val'anyr?

Actually, it's just a lategame trick for me. I'm trying to build it as a Tempo deck, with Val'anyr as its ultimate Value generator for whenever the game stretches for too long, but not as its average wincondition.

Going full-blown handbuff would make the deck too slow and vulnerable.

  • Welcome to Out of Cards

Well im here from hearthpwn and i hope this will be as good as tavern as hearthpwn was

  • [WILD] What about Val'anyr?

I loved playing with it in Standard.  I've not been able to use it much in Wild though.  I used to run it with Saronite Chain Gang, Echoing Ooze, and Doppelgangster.  But I wouldn't center the deck around it since all it takes is a well timed Silence and your deck would be ruined.  Immortal Prelatecan still rock this card though, but if you're wanting to really utilize it, put it into a Hand Buff Paladin style build. That way you're not a one trick pony.

  • [Wild] Jurassic Park ft Deathwing

I made almost the exact same deck about a year ago. instead of devilsuars I used ragnaros, but other than that it was the exact same combo!

  • The Mechanical Invitational Is Next Week - June 4

If its a trial for some sort of Sealed Format then yay! If not then boo.....

  • Welcome to Out of Cards

I look forward to all the great things you will do!

  • Master's Call doesn't draw three minions after Dire Frenzy

I never noticed this but i never thought about it either. Good to keep in mind.
