It's literally cheating. Yes, you are climbing, but it's not your skill- it's Blizzard's oversight. I'm in disbelief that they really thought making two more spells in order to achieve Time Warp would change a thing. You could make it 12 and it would still be effective, balanced even.

I'm thankful that I'm not the kind of person that jumps on board to mindless, no soul decks just because they work, I really am. To the many Quest Mages out there, I want to tell you that your wins are meaningless. Every satisfaction that you got from victory was no different than a PARTICIPATION TROPHY. You are not achieving anything. You are jumping on ship to something that is broken and will be nerfed again.

It's pathetic if you think your playing ability had anything to do with it. Dwell on it a second and feel lousy about yourselves, please.

I have been playing a lot of Galakrond Warlock, but I noticed, that most of my opponents were Shamans. Against those I really struggled to win, so i looked up, which deck was best against Shaman. Apparently Holy-Wrath-Paladin is doing pretty well against them and since I had all the necessary cards, I thought I'd give it a try. I played 10 games with it, but not a single Shaman (mostly Rogue, which is the strongest deck against Holy-Wrath-Paladin :D).

Then I switched back to Warlock and I faced 3 Shamans in a row, after that I stopped playing. The last SEVEN games with my Warlock Deck were against Shaman.

I'm not salty, I have a positive winrate after all, I just find it suspiciously unexpectable (statistically speaking). Has someone of you encountered a similar situation?

Throughout the Scholomance Academy  Cinematic trailer there is actually a clearly defined student that you see throughout the whole trailer

First he gets drenched in the wave scene (and is clearly  on the ground right before that)

Next  he makes a hairy mustache spell and mocks another student.

Then he mentions "Corpses" in the academy yard and gets a sheep head

Later we seen him cheering on a Demon Hunter student only to get pulled down into a dark room,  and probably got his soul stolen.

Also he is in a bubble in the thumbnail.

Yesterday, I started RCT for the first time on my new computer.

Of course, what better place is there to start than Forest Frontiers, the very first scenario in the game, and one of the most iconic.

This got me thinking, how many people here are huge fans of this game (and the second game)?

The game is fiesta, so I went full fiesta, too. :D

Playing Gala Evolve Shaman and losing to most aggro (especially Paladin), but oh boy, do those funny high-rolls completely obliterate Priests! :)

After I spawned Khadgar, why my Invocation of Frost and Devoted Maniac didn't summon additional 2/1 Elementals?

We haven't even seen half of all the cards yet, so its perhaps a little premature to go with zoo.

But just to make a few observations on your deck;

Gandling and tekahn in the same deck? A little too heavy, dont you think so? Also, vectus and erkh as well?  Seems a little less like zoo than midrange lackey deck.

Your deck only has Nightshade Matron as the only activator for Hand of Gul'dan, and with Sea Giant in the deck, while there not being many cheap minions, means half the time you'll be discarding giant or worse still, have no chance of playing matron since your hand is already full of stuff.

Also, with not a lot of cheap stuff, and having little to no rush minions aside from matron Imprisoned Scrap Imp is virtually useless.

I'd go full zoo, remove vectus, and erkh. Replace with Magic Carpet, and the usual suspects of 1 drops. Also add Soulfire and Expired Merchant so Hand of Gul'dan actually gets discarded more often than not.

As for gandling, I'm a little convinced that he can only feature in a deck without imprisoned scrap imp and carpet, but maybe the 4 eggs are good enough reason to play him anyway. But tekahn is still probably the man for the job here. The lackeys can still be good under gandling, but magic carpet wont work with him.

I usually make 20+ decks during card reveals until the expansion is released and by the next expansion I want to get rid of them of all but It would take a tedious amount of time to do so. 

My suggestion is to have a box you can check off to delete multiple decks at a time and other things like that more effeciently.

Hey, folks! Pretty big patch coming to Mythgard this Monday. No card changes, but it affects a few keywords quite drastically. Here's the gist of it:

Focused X - "Increases damage dealt by X while fighting a minion or attacking a player through the opposite lane." This keyword will now apply even if the minion's strength is less than or equal to zero. Note that it doesn't actually increase the minions strength for the purposes of abilities like Revolutionary Totem (minions with strength 4 or greater can't attack). If an attacking minion with Focused also has Overrun, the focus damage will continue to add to the damage dealt to the defending player from overrun. An example of this in action is a 0/1 minion with Focused 10 and Overrun attacking into a 0/1 defender. The defender will take 1 damage and die, and the defending player will take 9 damage from overrun.

Slayer X - "Deal X extra damage to minions in combat." This keyword now only applies to damage dealt to a minion and won't add to Overrun (though it can increase the amount of overrun damage done, as per the example below). Unchanged from the previous version, Slayer doesn't apply if the minion has zero or less strength. An example of the new functionality of Slayer in action is a 3/1 minion with Slayer 10 and Overrun attacking into a 0/1 defender. The defender will take 1 damage (from the Slayer) and die, and the defending player will take 3 damage (from the minion's strength) from overrun. Note that prior to 0.18.4, the defending player would have taken 12 damage from overrun. With the new patch, the extra 9 "slayer" damage doesn't carry over to the damage the attacker deals with overrun. However, also note that because the slayer damage is used "before" the minion's strength, the total overrun damage is increased – just not as much as it would have been prior to this patch.

Fragile X - "Increases any damage a minion takes by X." Much like Slayer, this keyword no longer contributes directly to Overrun damage. For example, if a 3/1 attacker with Overrun attacks a 0/1 defender with Fragile 10, the defending player will now take 2 damage from overrun. In this case, 1 "point" of damage from the attacker's strength applies to the defender, who takes an additional 2 "points" of damage (enough to kill it) due to Fragile. The remaining 2 "points" of the attacker's strength then carry through to overrun. Note that prior to this patch, the defending player would have taken 12 points of damage from overrun.

As the title says.

I am not talking about Battleground.

I am looking for an overview of card pools for normal cards, so that I could see which spells I could discover when I play a "discover a spell" card.

Same would be awesome for minion cards to see e.g. what 2 mana minions I could summon and maybe even possible chances.

So the title may be confusing but it's kinda relevant, and I thought it'd be funny to use a song lyric from one of the old Tom n Jerry episodes I recall...

Anyhow,  here's my dilemma.  I was a young 20 something back when WoW originally released.  Played it from Vanilla---> Wrath of the Lich King.  Quit shortly into Wrath due to feeling like I was lost in the game at times, and after taking a break felt so far behind that I could "never catch up".  

Fast forward through the last 16 years.  I ended up playing vanilla, BC, and wrath private servers for small stints here and there, before they inevitably died out due to propaganda from competing private servers or due to C&D orders (i.e. shut down). 

As of 2019, played classic wow at it's re-release (re-launch?) with a friend.  I was the one to convince him to play.  Then in December of 2019 had some person issues I had to take care of and deemed it was necessary to cancel my sub and take a break for awhile.  Now here we are.  Friend is wondering if I'll ever come back.  He isn't pressuring me, but I told him I'd been thinking about it the past few months.

The problem: I don't really like classic wow.  Yes I enjoy it more than say current wow.  But if I'm being truthful, the class balance, itemization, etc was horrible in vanilla.  I don't want the super-heroes of modern wow where every player is the savior of the alliance/horde and can swarms of enemies with a snap of their fingers...but I also don't want vanilla wow where itemization is crap, your player looks like Joker on laundry day, and all that.  

The problem part 2: My favorite expansion is BC.  I love the theme, the atmosphere, the quality of life updates, the flying mounts, the gear. Everything.  Everything in BC was just way better.  Ultimately I was honest with myself and the only reason I played Classic WoW and encouraged my friend to play it, was in the hopes that some day Blizzard would release "Classic BC" and I'd be able to relive that time period again.  

The thing is...We are at LEAST 1 year away, if not longer....before that is a even a smidge of a reality.  And I'm growing bored with the games I'm playing (Teamfight Tactics, Legends of Runeterra, Hearthstone, some Diablo3 here and there...)

The problem part3:  Part of the reason I took a break from classic wow in December was because of job issues and stability in my relationship.  Both have been resolved now and things are much better...but now I'm afraid that the one thing that enticed me (raiding, doing dungeons, etc....waiting for BC) isn't actually feasible.  

Even if I don't raid (a 2-4 hour commitment once or twice a week) dungeons in Vanilla don't hold the same attention as BC.  Secondly,  I thought well I could farm gold, just casually do dungeons, level alts, etc in the meantime but there's not a ton of fun replayability just dungeoning in vanilla for me over and over again on multiple alts.  Lastly my favorite class was a Blood Elf paladin, so leveling alts doesn't do much for me because my main in BC is gonna have to be re-rolled/start fresh as it is.  

So my conundrum is: Should I even try to play classic WoW in the hopes that BC Classic ever comes around?  Am I living too much in the past (I guess you could say others who play classic are living in the past as well...)  Just looking for some advice on what to do, and how to move forward being a 30-something person and realizing that I can't necessarily commit the same amount of time that I used to when I was 20, and not sure how to enjoy WoW when the one thing in WoW I really enjoyed but hated the extensive time commitment to was raiding...

So I’ve been working on a custom class and while I’ve been doing ok measuring my minions against the established vanilla baselines I realized that there doesn’t seem to be a similar primer/guide for spells. Or at least, the one linked in the Primer post now goes to a deleted reddit discussion (womp womp).

Then I realized that there are a lot of spell effects that recur or get tweaked throughout Hearthstone. For me personally, while I can conceptualize bigger or more esoteric custom effects, I sometimes find myself struggling to pad out the rest of my set skeletons since I have a natural inclination towards making everything unique or interesting. However, its perfectly fine to look at effects that have been done in the past and then tweak them to fit within my class’s identity. You just need to know what benchmark you’re actually tweaking, lest you end up reinventing the wheel.

So, I compiled a rough guide to those benchmarks. I’m not maths literate enough to create point values for these, so this is a more holistic guide. I’ve tried to find the ‘benchmark’/default spell showcasing the effect, and then tweaks to those benchmarks that exist throughout the game as it stands.

If you have a handier spell creation guide I’d be glad to get a link, and if you have ideas for benchmarks I’ve missed shout them out!

(0) Cost Spells

-Conditionally Deal 2 damage to a minion. Examples: Backstab, Zap!

-The next [X] you play Costs (2) less. Examples: Preparation, Elemental Evocation, Lightning Bloom.

--Note: Innervate getting nerfed shows that (2) unrestricted mana is too powerful. I think this is fertile ground for custom classes that have specific tribe/card type associations.

(1) Cost Spells

-Deal 2 damage. Example: Arcane Shot. Tweaks: Holy Smite (new), Arcane Missiles, Arcane Blast, Sword and Board, Totemic Smash, Claw, Twin Slice, On the Hunt, Voltaic Burst

-Note: Unrestricted “Deal 2 damage” is the benchmark, but the most common tweak is “Deal 2 damage to a minion” with added effects. Claw and Twin Slice show hero attack alternatives, On the Hunt and Voltaic Burst show how you can spread the damage among minions.

-Discover a [X] card. Example: Blazing Invocation, Boom Squad, Cloning Device, Hallucination, Magic Trick, Worthy Expedition, Secret Plan, Sinister Deal

--Note: This might be a benchmark that every custom class should have an example of. If you’ve got an empty slot, think of a keyword or card category your class is identified with and Discover it!

(2) Cost Spells

-Deal 3 Damage. Example: Darkbomb. Tweaks: Unstable Felbolt, Frostbolt, Penance, Eviscerate, Lightning Bolt, Wrath, Eye Beam, Quick Shot, Heroic Strike, Blessing of Might

-Note: If you’re making a class that deals damage with spells, you’re going to want to make your own “Deal 3 damage for (2)” spell at some point. While Darkbomb is the most vanilla version, the natural power level is probably “Deal 3 damage plus an effect”. As can be seen in Heroic Strike and Blessing of Might, the damage can also be achieved by increasing your hero or minion’s attack.

-Deal 1 damage to all enemy minions. Example: Arcane Explosion. Tweaks: Fan of Knives, Maelstrom Portal, Unleash the Hounds, Impferno

-Add 2 random [x] to your hand. Examples: Astral Rift, Dragon Roar, Clever Disguise, Thoughtsteal

-Note: Was originally going to classify these as tweaks of “Draw 2 cards” but four examples makes a trend. Also seems like an easy enough thing to modify for a custom class, if you can identify a specific card type that makes sense.

(2).5 Cost Effect

-Conditionally destroy a minion. Examples: Shadow Word: Death, Shadow Word: Pain, Execute, [Hearthstone Card (Hunters Mark) Not Found], Subdue, Pressure Plate, Shatter, Crushing Hand, Ambush, Sap, [Hearthstone Card (Envenom) Not Found], Deadly Shot, Vaporize, Bouncing Blade, Unwilling Sacrifice

-Note: Another spell effect that should probably be in all classes, so if you haven’t given some way to destroy a minion for 2 or 3 try to plug that hole (or make it part of your design philosophy that it is a weakness of your class). Crushing Hand is a bit of a cheat, but 8 damage is a good proxy for “kill most anything.” Sap is probably too cutesy to keep here, but I think it fits. [Hearthstone Card (Hunter’s Mark) Not Found] and Subdue show that ‘conditional’ can mean ‘needs follow up from a minion or weapon’.

(3) Cost Spells

-Draw 2 Cards. Example: Arcane Intellect. Tweaks: Research Project, Book of Specters, Fungal Fortunes, Forge of Souls, Ancestral Knowledge, Ice Fishing, Spectral Sight, [Hearthstone Card (Small Time Recruits) Not Found], Prismatic Lens, Sense Demons, Roll the Bones, Mimic Pod, Raiding Party

-Note: Another benchmark where your class should either have an example, or make it’s lack of example a deliberate choice. Most common tweaks to explore are drawing two specific things for (2), drawing three specific things for (3), or drawing two for (2) with a draw back.

-Deal 4 damage to a minion. Example: Shadow Bolt. Tweaks: Soulfire, Spirit Bomb, Lightning Breath, Stormcrack, [Hearthstone Card (BEEEES!!!) Not Found], Tidal Surge, Flamecannon, Devastate, Shadow Strike, Vendetta, Wing Blast

-Note: Less close to a universal benchmark, but still close. Tweaks to explore are dealing four for (2) or less with a drawback or condition, or a base (4) cost spell that can get its cost reduced under the right conditions. There’s also higher cost versions which tack on an additional effect, ala Marked Shot or Holy Water.

(4) Cost Spells

-Transform a minion. Examples: Polymorph, Hex

-Note: Ok, two examples isn’t much of a benchmark (and the few tweaks are also in Mage), but still a good baseline if you want to make a transform spell.

-Deal 2 damage to all enemy minions. Example: Consecration. Tweaks: Holy Nova, Lightning Storm, Flame Ward

(4).5 Cost Effect

-Unconditionally Destroy a minion. Example: Assassinate. Tweaks: Walk the Plank, Time Rip, Blastcrystal Potion, Impbalming, Libram of Justice, Crush

Notes: I’d peg the actual cost of “destroy a minion” at about (4).5 cost, closer to (4). Early rogue spells like Assassinate were designed with Preparation in mind, and Walk the Plank at (4) feels closest to a vanilla “destroy a minion” effect. Libram of Justice is a bit of a cheeky addition, but as opposed to Subdue or [Hearthstone Card (Hunter’s Mark) Not Found] it sets the minion to 1 Health and gives you the means to take it out within the same card. Common tweaks for custom classes would be higher cost versions that can have their cost reduced, destroy effects with bonuses ala Time Rip and Siphon Soul, or (4) cost spells with drawbacks.

(5) Cost Spells

Draw 3 cards. Example: Nourish (pre-nerf). Tweaks: Thistle Tea, Candle Breath, [Hearthstone Card (Cabalist ’s Tome) Not Found], [Hearthstone Card (Hand of Gul’Dan) Not Found], [Hearthstone Card (Skull of Gul’dan) Not Found], Devour Mind

Notes: A vanilla “draw 3” is probably a 4.5 mana effect, hence why we see a lot of (6) cost cards that draw 3 with either benefits or potential cost reductions. “Generate 3 cards”, ala [Hearthstone Card (Cabalist’s Tome) Not Found] and Devour Mind, is probably a flat (5) effect, if your class has a specific set of cards to generate that fit. [Hearthstone Card (Hunter’s Pack) Not Found] shows another route where you heavily restrict the three cards generated and reduce the cost of getting them.

(X) Cost

-Summon X 1/1 tokens. Examples: Call in the Finishers, Fiendish Circle, Swarm of Locusts, Lost in the Jungle, Air Raid, Stand Against Darkness, Coordinated Strike, Command the Illidari

Notes: Good potential for classes focused on Zoo tactics or minions in general. Also a precedent to personalize the tokens with keywords if it fits the class’s dynamics.

Spells above (5) is where you start seeing the more esoteric/class specific effects, as well as each class just having much less examples in general. However, this is an area that also sees a lot of blending or supercharging of benchmark effects.

Honestly I'm surprised they don't have any dredge like cards that use your graveyard as a resource. They have a ton of discard cards but nothing to bring back discarded cards outside of deep.

Cards like that would really help champs like Jinx be more viable. Also you could build decks that discard expensive heavy hitters early on only to bring them back later during the mid game like turn 5 or 6 for cheap.

You could also take that as a way to add mill cards and cards to discard cards your enemy has in their hand or deck and even use your dredge cards to take from their graveyard too.

I just tried using Molten Reflection on Khadgar today in the Tavern Brawl and it only created one copy of him. Shouldn't it create a second copy?

Can you pls explain - I can receive from blossom premium pass only 1 guardian dog and other are just skins(that no pets and so I need buy pets for 590coins to use these skins?)

or these rewards are all guardians by default?

People already claiming control is dead and Glide is just too powerful for control to handle it also it ruins card advantage.. except.. it doesn't.

I will explain first of all Glide is worse than Divine Favor it costs 1 more and you need to empty your hand entirely or else you won't draw everything also when outcast vs aggro mirror it's giving your opponent fuel as well and you need at least 3 cards to NOT outcast it (it being the middle one) so you draw 2 card for 4 mana(for reference Arcane Intellect.. or Spectral Sight) it's below average there.

Divine Favor at least drew you 1-2 cards vs aggro.

About card advantage, the player playing outcasted Glide is always at a card DISADVANTAGE they draw 4 cards, the opponents draws 4 cards and then the opponent draws one card in their next turn, which means the oppponent have 5 cards and the DH have 4 cards.. also it can't have more than 5 mana to play them cause he had to at least play the last drawn card of the last turn (and there are no 0 mana cards in DH anymore), the card will be played at minimum turn 7 or so.. and by then the average control card is just better/more effective than an aggro card.

Another point- decks playing Glide will be highly telegraphed they are HYPER aggro, so you control whinners can play cards instead of hoarding them in your hand until your AOE is perfect against their board.. also it's what you should do anyway.. there's also an important factor.. your current hand isn't always desirable.. a free Plot Twist for you might be something you want to do anyway.. specially if you are quest warlock, they just healed you up with Aranasi Broodmothers.

So control is dead cause of a situational draw card? nope.. is the community overreacting? yes.
